Abstract: Design and implement an energy-efficient smart camera mote architecture to be used as surveillance device for assisted living. Add the Passive Infrared Sensor (PIR) to WVSN, PIR detect the human or animal’s moving, then it triggers the camera to wake up. The image captured will be grayscale processing by the central processing unit. Camera sensor nodes transmit a grayscale image over wireless channel to master control station. It offers reduced complexity, response time, and power consumption over conventional solutions. By experimental results from the test illustrate that performance of the designed wireless image sensor is better than the exiting ones in the market in terms of received signal strength intensity (RSSI) and packet rate ratio (PRR) with respect to the distance. This scheme is less complicated than other wireless video sensor surveillance techniques, allowing resource-constrained video sensors to operate more reliably and longer.

Abstract: The purpose of this paper was to illustrate how to select the target from the candidates in M&A. Based on synergy theory, this paper constructed the target enterprise selection model to evaluate and select the target enterprise in M&A; meanwhile, it introduced the process in details by Z Company’s practice. The new and original of this paper was to put the synergy theory and analytic hierarchy process into M&A practice.

Abstract: Ultrasonic Lamb wave detection technology is an important, nondestructive testing technology for the damage of plate. In order to inspect the plate material nondestructively, an ultrasonic measurement system is investigated and the principle and structure of the system are described in this paper. The CTS-3000 instrument is used to excite and receive ultrasonic signal, which is delivered to computer through RS232 interface. Then the signal collected by the computer is analyzed with the 304 stainless steel as the experiment material. The results show that the proposed system can realize the measurement of ultrasonic with simple instrument structure and have great potential for future applications.

Abstract: Based on dynamic data system(DDS) modeling methodology, after transformed a seasonal time series for total electron content(TEC) of the ionosphere into a stationary time series by differencing technique, stationary TEC values are modeled by the autoregressive(AR) model. In order to correct model’s systematic errors, authors proposed that AR model is improved by non-parameters introduced to AR model and the ionospheric TEC is predicted using the improved AR model which is called semi-parametric AR model. Preliminary results show that the semi-parametric AR model has a good performance than one of the AR model for short-term TEC prediction while, for relatively long-term TEC prediction, the performance of the semi-parametric AR model is no less than one of AR model.

Abstract: In order to achieve up to 1 Gb/s peak data rate in future International Telecommunications Advanced mobile systems, carrier aggregation technology is introduced by the 3GPP to support very-high-data-rate transmissions over wide frequency bandwidths (e.g., up to 100 MHz) in its new LTE-Advanced standards. In this paper, two carriers are considered, namely primary component carrier (PCell) and secondary component carrier (SCell). Appropriately loosening SCell measurement period is able to save UE power consumption without apparent effect on the system performance. This paper analyzes system mobility performances under various SCell measurement periods. Furthermore, it gives the least length a SCell measurement period could be relaxed to while still retaining the system performance in scenario 2.

Abstract: This paper is concerned with the robust stability analysis problem for stochastic neural networks of neutral-type with uncertainties and time-varying delays. Novel stability criteria are proposed in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI) by defining a Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and using the stochastic analysis technique. Two examples are given to show the effectiveness of the obtained conditions.

Abstract: The proliferation of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) has fostered the demand of context aware applications, among which localization plays a significant role. Localization in WSN is facing the challenges of (1) error and noise; (2) dynamic environments; (3) data packet loss. However, most presented localization algorithms are verified just by simulation but practical systems. To validate the localization algorithms realistically, a prototype WSN system equipped with a group of sensor nodes is deployed in this paper. A trilateration based optimization approaches and the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) with position-velocity (PV) model are proposed and tested in the system comparing with the traditional trilateration. The experiment result indicates that the two proposed localization algorithms have much better accuracy than the traditional trilateration and, in a certain aspect, EKF with PV model is the most suitable algorithm among the three algorithms for localization in the prototype system.

Abstract: Preliminary orbit determination for geosynchronous Earth orbit (GEO) using two short arcs of space-based optical observations plays a key role in the space-based space surveillance systems. The concept of attributable is introduced to represent the information in a short arc of observations. Using two-body integrals, the polynomial equations for distance and radial velocity between the surveillance satellite and the GEO object at two epochs are constructed. By variables transformation, multiple solutions of these equations are obtained. By covariance analysis, a penalty function is given to select the practical solutions for computing preliminary orbits. The simulation results show this algorithm can successfully obtain preliminary orbits with certain accuracy.

Abstract: The maintenance of gray continuity in the image after the mathematical morphology operations is received more and more attention. Erosion is one of the most basic operations in the Mathematical morphology. In this paper, the maintenance of gray continuity after erosion was proved in the image of broken line type gray, which lays the theoretical foundation for the application of erosion in the image processing of recognition.

Abstract: Conventional cold pressing-sintering technique was utilized to fabricate NiFe2O4-matrix inert anode for aluminum electrolysis by adding NiFe2O4 spinel nanopowder. The effect of sintering temperature on properties of NiFe2O4-matrix ceramics was investigated especially. The results indicate that the density increases and the porosity decreases with the sintering temperature increasing, due to the higher diffusion coefficient enhanced by higher temperature. The bending strength and fracture toughness reach maximum values of 55.39MPa and 2.53MPa•m1/2 respectively, when the sintering temperature is 1400°C.
