Abstract: The misalignment of gear coupling is the most commonly observed fault in industry fields. It can cause great harm. In order to find out its physical mechanism and dynamic charactersic, a new Finite Element Modal of misaligned rotor-bearing system with gear coupling is presented in this paper. By considering the forces and moments which applied on rotor in two typical misaligned conditions, i.e. parallel and angular misalignment, the dynamic equation is established. Through simulation and dynamic analysis of two-span rotor system with misalignment, quantitive relationship between the misalignment and steady-state response is obtained. Meanwhile, an investigation on phase of twice rotational speed freqency (2X) reveals that in parallel misaligned condition, the phases of two sides of coupling are same, while in angular misalignment condition the phases are opposite (almost 180°difference). This feature can be used as an important reference when confirming a misalignment fault.

Abstract: In order to study the performance of gas-spray water quenching, the gas-spray water quenching test to 9SiCr alloy steel was conducted. After quenching , the hardness and metallographic structures were investigated. The results show that the hardness of the specimen was greatly improved, and the inner hardness was a little higher than the outer. Besides, the uniform martensite was obtained after quenching.

Abstract: Pave overlay to the freeway repeatedly causes the guardrail’s height lower and lower, which seriously influences its performance in protection and safety. The paper aims to work out a height-adjustable W-beam guardrail which is economic, feasible and safe to solve the shortage in barrier’s height causes from paving overlays by computer simulation tests and full-scale crash tests, which will improve the roadside safety of the guardrail and save the reconstruction cost.

Abstract: This paper addresses geometry design of a new kind of 2-DOF five-bar parallel manipulator actuated by two orthogonal layout linear actuators. Although the manipulator has only one geometric parameter, i.e., the link length, the distribution of performance index is more complex. Here, we propose a design approach utilizing a performance chart and local condition index. The key problem in the design of the manipulator is the determination of not the link length but the workspace satisfying the design index. This paper gives an effective method to obtain the basic good-condition workspace without dimension. Then, based on the optimum non-dimensional result, the optimum dimensional parameters are achieved which is suitable for the desired workspace. The optimum methodology of this paper is convenient and can be extended to other parallel manipulators

Abstract: Because the landing gear structure is complicated, it is difficult to draw accurate stress and strain distribution through the theoretical calculation. In this paper, based on the modeling and stress analysis of the buffer mechanism of aircraft landing gear, by converting the stress of a dynamic system into a static stress, the force of the landing gear struts are calculated. This paper analyzes the strength of the aircraft main landing gear by using computer simulation technology and finite element analysis, it provides an effective basis for maintenance and the damage prediction

Abstract: The basic requirements for low-carbon building are the natural life such as natural light, ventilation, climbing the stairs and so on. For example, well-designed natural ventilation needs no energy and cleaner than the mechanical ventilation, so the natural ventilation has a much better effect. The space organization should prevent the people to fall into the depraved life of higher energy consumption. Actually, saving water and electricity in life provide the better effect than the expensive saving water and electricity system. This kind of building need no complex pipe laying and much cost of maintenance and management after it is used.

Abstract: Ship recycling is labour intensive and takes place largely in developing countries. Worker safety and environmental issues have clearly been focused by international community. In this paper, the hazardous wastes onboard were presented and the impact of these pollutants discharged from ship recycling was analyzed. Then, the current international conventions and standards were introduced. Herein, the Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships, 2009 (the Hong Kong Convention), was mentioned in detail, including its background, main content and enforcement. Finally, China’s green ship recycling was investigated and some suggestions were proposed to our government and shipbreaking companies. In summary, ship recycling is facing to great opportunities and challenges. Only through the cooperation of the stakeholders, can ship recycling industry get the sustained development.
