Abstract: Using low concentration TiOSO4 as titanium raw material, anatase white pigment was prepared by self seeded thermal hydrolysis route via short sulfate process. The effects of hydrolysis temperature and hydrolysis time on the structure and pigment properties of the as-prepared samples were investigated. The samples were characterized by XRD, particle size distribution and pigment properties test. The hydrolysis temperature and time had great effects on the hydrolysis rate, particle size distribution, crystal growth and particle aggregation of TiO2, eventually determined the pigment structure and its pigment properties. The optimized hydrolysis temperature was at faint boiling point, and the hydrolysis time after second boiling point was of 2.5h. Anatase white pigment was appropriate particle size, narrow particle size distribution and good pigment properties.

Abstract: Heterocyclic monomer based on 2,1,3-benzothiadiazole bearing solubilizing side chains have been synthesized in high yields over three steps from readily available starting materials. The alkyl side chain in the 4-position of both thiophene rings gives the material mononer a good solubility.

Abstract: The chemical oxygen demand (COD) in tannery wastewater was treated by prepared flocculant at different conditions. The results showed that the most suitable reaction conditions were attained at a temperature of 25°C, pH of 8, flocculant of 0.2 g/L when the shaking speed of 150 r/min and the reaction time was 15 min. Through testing the saccharide and protein in the flocculant, it was found that the flocculant contained saccharides and proteins.

Abstract: The improved synthesis of 3, 3-dimethyl-4-pentenoic acid methyl ester (DPE) had been discovered. In new process, orthophosphate (85%) and sodium methoxide(98%)was used as catalysts at different stages of the reaction, the amount of azeotropic mixture of DPE and the byproduct 3'-methyl-2'-butenyl-3, 3-dimethyl-pentenpate (MBDP) is reduced, the recovery rate of product DPE is improved. under the optimal reaction condition, the highest yield of DPE approach 84%. Improved the process is more suitable for industrial production.

Abstract: The grafted hydrogels of N-isopropylacrylamide (IPAAm) with 2-hydroxyethylacrylate (HEA) was prepared in an aqueous solution using ammonium persulfate (APS) and N,N,N’,N’-tetramethylethylene diamine (TEMED) as an accelerator. Lower critical solution temperature (LCST) and swelling ratios were measured as a function of temperature. The properties of the hydrogels contained pyrenyl probe in water were investigated by fluorescence spectroscopy.

Abstract: The chitosan-gum arabic microcapsules prepared by complex coacervation were chosen as carrier for a model insect semiochemicals, α-pinene, owing non-toxicity of the polymers and mild conditions of the method. The coated colloids were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The release of α-pinene from microspheres was studied in simulated conditions. The results showed that α-pinene-loaded microspheres which were obtained by association had a mean diameter of 5±0.5µm. The encapsulation efficiency and the encapsulation yield of the α-pinene-loaded microspheres were about 51.70±2.5% and 42.11±2.3%, respectively. The release experiments revealed that polyelectrolytes prolonged the release time of the encapsulated α-pinene. The release rate of α-pinene from the microspheres was proportional to the release time.

Abstract: A spectrophotometric method was developed for the determination of trace Ru (III) is described, based on its catalytic effect of Ru (III) on the oxidation of dibromo caboxy arsenazo (DBCAA) by bromate in acidic and micellar medium at 100 °C. The reaction was monitored spectrophotometrically by measuring the decrease in the absorbance of the catalytic reaction of DBCAA at 530 nm with a fixed-time method. The calibration curve for the recommended method was linear in the concentration range over 0.037–1.0 µg/L and the detection limit of the method for Ru (III) was 0.011 µg/L. The method was applied to the determination of Ru (III) in some ores and metallurgy products. The results are in good agreement with the recommend values with the relative standard deviation of 2.6 %–3.8 % and the recovery of 97.2 %–104.3 %.

Abstract: Carbon source doped in polymer-cement were used for coating the filter of organic materials in even, gradient and embedded ways. Starch, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose and polyvinyl alcohol had been selected and used for carbon source of denitrification. The filter advantage is the simple manufacturing process, energy conservation, environmental protection and low cost. We assay the condition of carbon source release in different filter and the experimental results show that the way of embedded carbon source doped in the filter is the optimal with longer lifetime and it can provide sufficient carbon source and be a long time for the growth of microorganism. The rate of denitrogenation can reach up to more than 70% having a great potential development.

Abstract: In this paper, application of DWC with side rectifier (DWC-SR) to aniline distillation was studied. Simulation using Aspen plus software was done to compare the traditional two tower process with new process based on DWC-SR. The results show that, the two processes has no obvious difference on energy cost, which is also decided by the characteristics of DWC-SR, but capital investment and space saving can be gained for DWC-SR process. In addition, only an reboiler is need in DWC-SR process, so residence time of aniline, nitrobenzene, etc inside high temperature region can be reduced, so can avoid heat decomposition of these thermosensitive substances to a great extent.

Abstract: After the treatment of the ultrasound, the paper sizing agent preparation process with emulsion copolymerization of methyl methl acrylate and butylacrylate under microwave irradiation is discussed. To research the synthesis of sizing agent, the change of emulsion polymerization products of monomer conversion, particle size, and centrifugal stability were observed under types of conditions such as microwave power and dosage of emulsifiers. This synthetic method is due to use the microwave irradiation so that its response is very fast, and it can provide a new approach to prepare efficiently a paper sizing agent in the paper making.
