Abstract: A new Solar-Mobile-Spray-Machine (SMSM) is investigated. The ordinary electric vehicle is used as walking mechanism and solar cell components are installed on it. The number of accumulator battery and solar photovoltaic modules (SPM) are calculated with the designing of switching circuit. The mechanism can provide power in real time for every driving device meanwhile it can administer the charging and discharging for accumulator battery effectively. The recorded data shows that the device can provide 17% energy for the spray machine during a whole day working time. The device makes a reasonable application of solar and has the characteristics of simple structure, unique form and reliable operation. The device has the versatility characteristic because it can be used not only in crop spraying but also in farm disinfection and facility horticulture in insecticide.

Abstract: Sustainability is an important concept in todays architecture and will be even more so in the future. This paper explores sustainable design strategies through several cases of campus building. Five strategies of sustainability are studied: context, aesthetic, materials, energy and enhance lives of inhabitants. The conclusions show that sustainable design strategies are naturally producing building with a regional character. The approach varies according to the opportunities and constraints of each project, and with the ecological characteristics of each region.

Abstract: In view of high energy consumption situation in the apparel industry in the background of cyclic economy, the author conducts technical experiment for clothing style change according to transformation design of clothing structure elements, and establishes the environmental protection philosophy of enabling raw materials for one garment to satisfy the function of raw materials for two or more garments. This not only maximizes the energy efficiency of clothing materials, but also optimizes life cycle of products, and accordingly promotes the energy-saving and environment-friendly eco-civilization construction in the apparel industry.

Abstract: Low carbon emission is the most important thing to the architecture, thus the technology of construction which help to reduce carbon emission is very valuable. The paper focus on the thermal behavior of the traditional dwellings in southern Hunan,China. Field research was conducted between 2008 and 2012. Assessment on the ventilation, lighting and insulation design can help us aware of the thermal behavior of buildings in historical settlements. The results show that the ancient rural architectures can merge the environmental characteristics in interior and exterior design. The traditional dwellings are capable of working with the nature and reducing carbon emission.

Abstract: The square has experienced thousands of years since its initial generation in the world, but some relatively stable element of the square has not changed as the time passing by, and they have played a passive role during the process of square evolution. The aim of the program is to find the essential characteristics of the typical main exhibition hall plaza morphology of the Garden Expo through coordinating the city, the architecture and the people, so as to solve the function configuration, and the same to provide an orderly and beautiful environment for the visitors.

Abstract: The automobile manufacturer has been regarded as a great consumer of energy resources and an important origin of carbon emission. Hence, the research on the control strategies of carbon emission is of significant importance to help to save energy and mitigate carbon emission. This paper proposes a logistics and manufacturing management framework of the automobile manufacturer from the viewpoint of energy conservation and emission reduction. Firstly, we ascertain the carbon emission boundary based on three management phases of the automobile manufacturer: the process of the logistics of raw materials and components, the manufacturing process and the waste disposal. Then, based on the analysis of details of energy consumption and carbon emission, we identify several important management problems confronting the automobile manufacturer. Furthermore, we propose some planning and scheduling models towards these management problems by balancing the economic and environmental considerations.

Abstract: In this paper, a rigorous and efficient approach, using the fuzzy-Inference Taguchi method with the multiple performance characteristics index (MPCI), is employed for obtaining the rigorous design of a small-scale direct-drive coreless axial-flux permanent-magnet (AFPM) generator for a vertical-axis wind turbine (VAWT) with both larger induced voltage and higher efficiency. The proposed method first establishes the orthogonal array (OA) recommended by the Taguchi method, then multiple targets are coordinated by the fuzzy inference mechanism to obtain a better combination of geometric parameters for achieving multiple quality targets. The three-dimensional (3-D) electromagnetic finite element method (FEM) is used as the tool for analyzing the performance of the coreless AFPM generator. The results have shown the proposed method can obtain the suitable generators geometric parameters for enhancing the induced voltage of the generator while keeping efficiency as high as possible under the rated speed.
