Abstract: Regional freight transportation demand is an important basis for transportation planning. Because of the large number of industries, the survey of related industries for regional freight transportation demand is workload and complicated. Therefore, we can grasp the formation and distribution of regional freight transportation demand by analyzing the industries that can generate larger number of transportation demand.

Abstract: Perfect firefighting system and reasonable distribution of infrastructure resource for airports can make a big difference on severity of accidents. This paper built a net model of firefighting system for airports based on amount of investigation. What is more, this paper improved the typical short-path problem in operational research. Improved model can be used to optimize location of airports firefighting system. These optimization results can provide a quantitative basis for building of firefighting device. In fact, location optimization of airport emergency firefighting system can reduce response time when airports emergency accidents happen.

Abstract: In this paper we propose a novel Lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) incorporated with Large Eddy Simulation (LES) to simulate diesel engine spray process. The proposed LB-LES method combines several advantages of LBM and LES including clear physical pictures, easy implementation and capacity to describe turbulence structures of high Renolds fluid, it also can settle the problem that LBM cant converge of high Renolds. Simulation result shows: (1) Strong vortex exist around the spray cone and head of the spray; (2) A high fuel density regime exits inside the head of spray, that verifies the experiment result of American APS laboratory with the application of avalanche photodiode (APD) X-ray imaging technology to spray field; (3) LB-LES method can simulate the surface undulation phenomenon of spray which is generated by the aerodynamic force in the case of high Renolds.

Abstract: The performance and emission characteristics of diesel engines are largely governed by fuel atomization and spray processes which in turn are strongly influenced by the flow dynamics inside the injector nozzle. Accurate measurement of the nozzle geometry is important for the study of the flow dynamics. Using the third-generation synchrontron radiation light source of the ShangHai Light Source (SSRF), the research team successfully captured the internal structure images of the single hole nozzle and multi-hole nozzle. According to the captured images, the researchers clearly observed the internal structure of nozzle as well as the sac region. The diameter and length of the nozzles and orifice angle were also be accurately measured.

Abstract: Container transportation has more efficiency, fewer impacts of handing and less probability of maximum impacts so that security risks are reduced and it is the developing direction of goods transportation. According to the characteristics of container transportation and based on analysis of the basic approaches, characteristics of shock and vibration, this paper discusses the advantages of goods transportation by container and proposes the design routines that satisfy the demands of goods transportation by improving packing. Meanwhile, planning and design that aim at some goods are conducted for suitable transportation by container. Moreover, they lay the foundation for the transportation of goods by container.

Abstract: This study aims to develop a method to detect drivers fatigue using the EEG signals. Experiments have been designed to test the subjects under simulated driving and actual driving, and the fatigue drivers Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals were collected. Wavelet transform method was applied to de-noise the raw EEG data. The H, R (H=α/β; R= (α+θ)/β) wavelet entropy were calculated. The results show that the fatigue drivers H, R wavelet entropy decreased after rest (P<0.05). It is concluded that there are significant difference in brain function between fatigue states and recovered after rest. It is shown that H, R wavelet entropy is an effective eigenvalue to measure drivers fatigue.

Abstract: Starting from the 2-D hydrodynamic equation and according to the feature of sudden change of water depths of front and rear edge for submerged spur dike, put forward the Grid Interface Water Depth Method and research the mathematical model of 2-D water flow for submerged spur dike. A rectangular water tank is designed with length of 30m and width of 1.6m, on one side of which five submerged spur dikes are arranged with length of 0.40m, width of 0.05m, height of 0.06m, and spacing between spur dikes of 0.80m. Use the test data of water tank to verify the 2-D mathematical model of average depth surface. The results show that the mathematical model results basically coincide with the measured data, showing this kind of numerical computation method is feasible.

Abstract: In order to evaluate the level of roads safety, this paper proposes a model of traffic accidents which is derived from theories of synergetics. In this study, a great deal of field survey date is obtained via a set of physiological and psychological detection devices. By analyzing data combined with driving comfort threshold, a model of traffic accidents is founded according to different effects, caused by traffic factors.

Abstract: Since usable land in Taiwan is more and more difficult to get and the problems of air pollution, environmental protection, visual quality, and ecological environment, etc, caused by transportation infrastructure are getting more public concern, the Ministry of Transport adopts building green transportation system as one direction of the energy conservation strategy for the traffic department, of which implementing the green transportation system-oriented land use planning is one of the important action plan. As for the system, there should be an objective to determine whether the program result is in accordance with the green transportation developing goal. The paper hereby probes into the green transportation concept that could be applied into the stages of land use design. Land use planning provide some reference to the government agencies and relevant designers when they are drawing up the land use plan.
