Abstract: Taking the connecting band of urban integration as study area, based on an appropriate index system, the method of Entropy Weight-Geographic Information System (GIS) was employed to carry out the land suitability assessment at a regional scale. Shenyang Irrigation Area (SIA) was taken as the practical example. It was found that the method was reasonable to assess the land suitability and the assessment results can be used to support land planning in a flexible way.

Abstract: The methods in environmental risk zoning put more attention on analyzing the characteristics of environmental risk sources, while ignoring the vulnerability environmental receptor. In the work, a method based on environmental receptor grading and consequence assessment was developed for the environmental risk zoning. The method includes five steps and conducts in the (Geographic Information System) GIS platform. Finally, the method was applied in Pine Island Chemical Park, China as an illustration.

Abstract: With the development of urbanization and industrialization in China, the output of municipal sewage gradually increase, which imposes great pressure to the sustainable development of environment. Effective microorganisms (EM) technique has been considered as cheap and effective technique to apply in sewage treatment and gradually attracted scientists much attention also due to its environmentally friendly nature. This paper is aimed to draw a conclusion about the applications of EM technique in municipal sewage treatment and offer proposals to promote the intensive development of EM technique.

Abstract: It is crucial to make insulator contaminant detection owing to that insulator can form pollution flashover when being exposed in outside operating conditions for long term, which can cause great damage. It can effectively prevent accident from happening when timely detecting the contamination on the surface of insulator. This paper provided detailed introduction of three new methods of insulator contaminant detection on the basis of the brief summary of traditional detection methods.
