Abstract: Co(Ⅱ)-, Mn(Ⅲ)- and Cu(Ⅱ)- salen type complexes were immobilized over mesoporous MCM-41 through coordinating the metal atom to amino groups covalently attached to the MCM-41 functionalized 3-aminopropyl triethoxysilane (3-APTES). The XRD patterns shown that mesostructure of MCM-41 remains intact after various modifications, while spectral techniques shown the successful anchoring the neat complexes inside MCM-41. The catalytic activity results shown that Co-salophen/MCM-41 exhibited the highest catalytic performance in the water phase selective oxidation of benzyl alcohol.

Abstract: The solid acid catalyst (ACSA) for the gutter oil esterification to biodiesel was prepared via active carbon as raw material by introducing the-SO3H group onto the surface of it. The ACSA were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and elemental analysis (EA), respectively. And the results showed that the-SO3H groups were successfully introduced onto the surface of the active carbon and the containing of the-SO3H groups are higher than 0.017g per gram of ACSA.

Abstract: The catalytic hydrodechlorination of 4-chlorophenol promoted by different hydrophilic catalysts based on Pt and Rh on aluminum oxy-hydroxide (AlO(OH)) was carried out in water at 30 °C under atmospheric pressure. Among these catalysts, Rh/AlO(OH) was effective in the removal of 4-chlorophenol, with phenol, cyclohexanone, and cyclohexanol identified as reaction products. The Rh/AlO(OH) catalyst showed excellent hydrodechlorination performance in water than organic solvents, 4-cholophenol was completely dechlorinated within 60 min in water in contrast to less than 26 % in organic solvents. Furthermore, the Rh/AlO(OH) catalyst can be recycled four times without any inorganic and organic additives.

Abstract: Recovery of sulfur source is an important goal of industrialization regeneration for hot coal gas desulfurization sorbent. The different sulfide forms of sulfur produced in regeneration atmosphere and the method for recovering of sulfur source are discussed in this paper. The regeneration exhausted gas of high temperature desulfurization sorbent mainly has several forms of sulfides: sulfur dioxide, hydrosulfide and elemental sulfur, sulfide form and regeneration atmosphere have a direct relationship. Recovering sulfur dioxide utilize the reduction of CO or ammonia, and recovering hydrosulfide use selective catalytic oxidation which is the desulfurization method for achieve prospects of industrialization, but there is catalyst poisoning in these methods. We point out that the direct recovery of elemental sulfur from different forms of sulfide will be the focus of future research.

Abstract: Fe3O4-RGO composite nano material was successfully made through magnetite’s deposition on graphene. The measurement of scanning electron microscope demonstrated that magnetite with spinel structure attached on the surface of the reduced grapheme oxide without any conglomeration. The XRD spectrum revealed a heterogeneous structure of various composite materials. Fe3O4-RGO nano-composites were used as a cathodic catalyst for single-chamber MFC treating phenol sewage experiment. The results indicated the output of the max power density was up to 0.283 W/m2, while the internal resistance of the cathode was 151.2 Ω, which suggests the suitability of Fe3O4-RGO nano-composites being as MFC’s cathodic catalyst. Both of phenol and glucose could be used as substrates for the generation of electricity in MFC. The output of the power was stable after a period of operation. Meanwhile, the concentration of phenol in the MFC decreased along with the extension of the operation time.

Abstract: The Ni-Pt bimetallic catalyst supported on nanofilm alumina was prepared by coprecipitation method under the assistance of ultrasonic vibration. The characterization result revealed that the prepared catalyst had a good dispersion with an average particle size around 7nm. The activities of supported catalyst of Ni, Pt and Ni-Pt were compared through using the dehydrogenation of methylcyclohexane (MCH) to produce toluene in Microreactor-Gas Chromatography System (MGCS). The conversion and the selectivity of the Ni-Pt catalyst at 350°C for the dehydrogenation of MCH was 97.0% and 100%, respectively. It was found that the bimetallic synergistic effect between Ni and Pt particles would affect the catalyst performance. The addition of Ni into Pt/γ-Al2O3 catalyst was beneficial to decrease the use of Pt in the dehydrogenation.

Abstract: The sulfolane extraction distillation (SED) process is widely applied to separate aromatics and non-aromatics, but it is difficult to build a model for SED because of unknown binary interaction parameters (BIPs). In this study, liquid-liquid equilibrium data are used to regress unknown BIPs, and other unknown BIPs are calculated based on standard solution theory, and then a process model for RIPPs SED is developed. The gap between model results and RIPPs patent is marginal. It is shown that properties method used and process model built in this paper could calculate the SED process correctly and provide theoretical and technical support to the actual production processes.

Abstract: The aim of the study was to investigate the prevalence and charateristics of Acinetobacter baumannii producing MBLs isolated from the several wards of the affiliated hospital in Jilin regions. The bioinformatics technology was used to design primers, sequence and blast, in conjunction with antibiotic susceptibility test and MBL screening method. The total of 119 were isolated from three wards and 88 strains (73.9 %) produced MBLs, the number of 31 strains (26.1%) didnt produce MBLs. All MBLs isolates showed same antimicrobial susceptibility patterns. Among Acinetobacter baumannii producing MBLs, 78 strains (88.9%) were positive for blaOXA-23 gene, 10 strains (11.1%) contained blaVIM-2 gene. Plasmid profiles and pulsed-field gel electrophoresis were used to study the relatedness of isolates. All MBLs isolates were closely related by PFGE and plasmid analysis. This study confirmed the potential risk of spreading of Acinetobacter baumannii producing MBLs with inter-and intrahospital clonal transfer of patients.

Abstract: Myocardial infarction (MI) increased reactive oxygen species (ROS) and cardiomyocyte apoptosis. Saponins from Panax japonicus (SPJ) exerted beneficially cardioprotective effects on myocardial ischemia injury and possess antioxidant properties to scavenge the toxic radicals. Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor (Nrf2) is a transcription factor that controls the expression of a large pool of anti-oxidant and protects cells from oxidative damage. The data from this study show that SPJ reduced the production of ROS by increase the expression of antioxidants and restore the balance between prooxidants and antioxidants via activation of the Nrf-2 pathway. Furthermore, SPJ might reduce ROS production and apoptosis in hydrogen peroxide-induced H9c2 cells. The effect of MI apoptotic cells induces generation of ROS in abundance. Taken together, SPJ treatment significantly improved MI-induced injury and this may be attributing to inhibiting ROS related apoptosis via activation of the Nrf-2 pathway.
