Abstract: The Cathelicidin OH-CATH30 may have therapeutic potential against the systemic infections. However, it is a great challenge to obtain abundant OH-CATH30 by Escherichia coli expression system. The OH-CATH30 coding sequence was optimized and subcloned into vector pET-32a, allowing the peptide to be expressed as a thioredoxin fusion protein. The highest protein expression level obtained was 100 mg/L of bacterial culture. Before being cleaved with enterokinase, the released recombinant OH-CATH30 exhibited a in vitro strong antibacterial activity against the control strains.

Abstract: A new HPLC method for the analysis of bacillamide C, with DAD detector at 220nm, has been developed, validated and used in the EtOAC extracts of the fermentation broth of a Bacillus atrophaeus strain, associated with the South China Sea sponge Dysidea avara. Bacillamide C was well quantified on a reversed phase ZORBAX Eclipse XDB-C18 column by use of a gradient mobile phase from 20% (v/v) acetonitrile to 45% (v/v) acetonitrile in 15 min at a flow rate of 1 mL/min. The linearity ranges were 1.00-1000.00μg/mL with values of LOD (limit of detection) equal to 0.15μg/mL. The HPLC method was proved simple, feasible and reliable by a series of method validation experiments about linearity, accuracy, precision and stability.

Abstract: Alginate-chitosan multilayer beads containing α-glucosidase inhibiting peptide (GIP) from Ruditapes philippinarum were prepared to develop stable, non-toxic microcapsules. The optimal conditions were alginate concentration (w/v) 1.0%, alginate/GIP ratio (w/w) 1:5, calcium chloride concentration (w/v) 5% and chitosan concentration (w/v) 2.0%, which were obtained through single factor tests and orthogonal experiments. Under the conditions, the encapsulation efficiency (EE%) was 67.21% and the drug-loading percentage was 33.67%.According to the release study, the release rate of GIP was lower than 30% after incubation in simulated gastric fluid (SGF) for 3h and the rate was higher than 70% after incubation in simulated intestinal fluid (SIF) for 5h. The inhibiting rate was 25.13% after treatment in SIF when the concentration of GIP was 10mg/mL. Accordingly, the microcapsules prepared in this paper are acid resistant and therefore can be given orally.

Abstract: The coffee flavor compounds acquire a significant place in the improving the flavor of cigarette. In the present paper, the support vector machine is used to develop quantitative relationships between the retention time and four molecular descriptors of 52 compounds. The model of support vector machine gives good statistical results compared to those give by multiple linear regressions and support vector machine. The contribution of each descriptor to structure-retention time relationships was evaluated. It indicates the importance of the atoms number and type of parameter. The proposed method can be successfully used to predict the retention time with only four molecular descriptors which can be calculated directly from molecular structure alone.

Abstract: In order to research on the effect of composition ratio on drying quality of the plant bowl-seeding tray, the drying test was done in superheated steam drying test-bed, the regression model was established by performance test data, and the best composition ratio was obtained from optimization results, the best composition ratio is 21:7:1:4, at this condition the dry strength value was 0.2112MPa, the wet strength value was 0.2178Mpa. The research results has important meaning to enhance the drying quality of the rice seedling-growing tray made of paddy-straw and to promote planting techniques of bowl sterile.

Abstract: This paper was focused on the discussion about the main metal nutrients translocation in bleeding sap during muskmelon development and it was improved by rootstock grafting. The total translocation volume of metal nutrients in bleeding sap of each treatment depicted the same trend where G1 (Zhongmi 1/Riben Strong) and G3 (Zhongmi 1/Shengzhen 1) improved the supply capacity of metal nutrients to the aboveground parts and there were no concentration and translocation volume changes for each metal ion in bleeding sap with dissimilar rootstocks grafting when G1 and G3 improved the supply capacity of potassium, natrium, calcium, magnesium, ferrum, cuprum and zinc to the over ground parts from the root system, and furthermore G2 (Zhongmi 1/Quanwang) and G3 reduced manganese translocation in bleeding sap significantly on 10 DAA (days after anthesis) and manganese translocation in G1 and G3 during 20 to 30 DAA were remarkably higher than that in CK and G2, while manganese translocation in G3 was notably higher than that in the other treatments on 40 DAA. So based on the main metal nutrient supply capacity of the root system for comprehensive considerations, G1 and G3 were superior scion/rootstock combinations for top quality and high yield potential.

Abstract: Anthocyanins microcapsules from Acanthopanax.sessiliflorus (Rupr. et Maxim.) Seem were prepared by Spray-Drying, using maltodextrin and gum arabic as wall materials. The stability and releasing property of anthocyanins microcapsules were studied. Using the retention rate as evaluation index, the effects of temperature, light, pH and metal ions on the stability of microcapsules and anthocyanins during 30 days storage were assessed, and samples were taken every five days. Results show that the microcapsules have greater storage stability against temperature, light, pH and metal ions. Using the release rate as evaluation index, the effect of releasing of microcapsules was evaluated, and samples were taken every 30min. Results show that the microcapsules have certain slow-release effect.

Abstract: Objective To investigate the changes of total flavonoid content of Suaeda salsa in different months of growing season, from May to November. Methods UV spectrophotometry was used for determination of the total flavonoid. Results The content of total flavonoid in Suaeda salsa was highest in September (67.75 mg·g-1) and was lowest in May (11.4 mg·g-1).The content was found to increase from May to September, and to decrease from September to November. Conclusion There is significant difference between total flavonoid content in Suaeda salsa from different months, which can be used to provide theoretical basis for harvesting and processing of Suaeda salsa.

Abstract: Wavelet function using a variety of experimental spectral decomposition of the image area, the results show that the spectral fractal dimension db series db5 wavelet decomposition of the third layer is the most stable and reliable signal. And cadmium contamination levels in two different areas of Changchun area, for example, on the Hyperion image wavelet decomposition to obtain details of the signal spectrum fractal dimension map, identifying the extent of a wide range of rice cadmium pollution stress. This method is rapid, macro, accurate monitoring of cadmium contamination of rice provides a convenient way.

Abstract: The compounds, which extracted from Equisetum arvense, Crataegus pinnatifida Bunge, Rosa maximowicziana Regel and Physalis alkekengi, were selected to determine the content of flavonoids and polysaccharides by a visible light spectrophotometry, and the antioxidant activity was determined by a chemical method. The results showed that the content of flavonoids in our compounds was 0.204 mg/g and the polysaccharides was 2.498 mg/g. In scavenging experiments, the levels of hydroxyl radicals and superoxide anion were lower compared with negative control, but the levels were still higher than positive control. The ability to scavenge superoxide anion was more powerful than hydroxyl radicals. This determined that our compound preparation extract have the ability to scavenge hydroxyl radicals and superoxide anion.
