Influence of the External Field on the Polarization in the Surface Layer of Strontium Barium Niobate Crystals

Article Preview

Abstract:

The influence of an external electrical field and annealing on the polarization state in the surface layers of strontium-barium niobate (SBN) single crystals is studied. The investigation was carried out by pyroelectric method and method of thermal Barkhausen effect (TBE). Essential difference was found to exist in the switching behaviour of pure SBN crystals and SBN doped with Cr, Ce and Cr/Ce impurities.
