Molybdenum disulfide (MoS₂) exhibits a bandgap that is dependent on the number of layers, which enhances charge carrier mobility and increased phonon scattering at the nanoscale, potentially improving the PF while reducing lattice thermal conductivity [15].
Graphene platelets (GNPs) [25] have proven effective as additives in various TE materials, including direct doping in both n-type and p-type Bi2Te3, the formation of graphene-modified grain-boundary complexions in Sb-based skutterudites, and the development of core-shell structures in Fe2P.
However, as the GNP content increased, GNPs began to aggregate, restricting charge carrier migration and disrupting the conductive network due to the increasing number of GNP layers.
