Abstract: We analyze the road environment of the present urban main road and the motor vehicle traffic conditions firstly, from which we see that crosswalks should be added and some intersections should be signal control optimized. Then using the timing linear control system theory which is suitable for China, the paper optimizes the crosswalk and intersection signal timing. Simulation is conducted with simulation software of VISSIM in the end, obtaining that after arterial road coordination, although a crosswalk is added in optimized arterial road, the total stop delay and the travel time of the mainstream vehicles are effectively reduced. The program satisfies the need for pedestrian crossing, and obtains better green wave band of arterial road.

Abstract: This paper brings forward a method to improve the efficiency of the variable guiding lanes. It shows the proper time to change the direction of variable guiding lanes, and a new method to clean out the vehicles on the variable guiding lanes. In condition of a low flow of left-turning vehicle but a high flow of straight vehicle, or the opposite situation, the directions of the variable guiding lanes are different. In the certain of the signal cycle, we changed the direction and gave the proper time to clean out vehicle on the variable guiding lanes, and then the vehicle of different directions can run smoothly. Furthermore, it decreases the delay of the whole intersection and the risk of conflicts.

Abstract: In order to improve the capacity of urban roads and alleviate the intersections’ congestion, this paper analyses the characteristics of mixed traffic flow in China, considers non- motor vehicles’ impact to the intersections, uses definite number of conversion to convert non-motor vehicles to motor vehicles, and then recomposes the F-B signal timing formula based on the traditional F-B signal timing method. By an example and Vissim simulation, a reasonable conversion factor is computed, The recomposed F-B signal time formula can reduce the delay and improve the efficience of the intersections, providing a new idea to signal timing under the mixed traffic flow.

Abstract: A simple and practical method of intersection control period division was proposed from the urban traffic control perspective. According to the historical statistics of the traffic volume, considering the differences of traffic flows, and based on the process of average hourly traffic volume, the method could calculate the cycle length of signalized intersection, set determination threshold value of control period, and divide 24h a day into several control periods, which provided a scientific basis for the establishment of signal timing programs with multiple periods a day. The calculation results showed that this method was agreed with the actual traffic flow compared with the traditional method.

Abstract: Recent years, traffic congestion is evolved into an urban disease that rejects to the urban development. Besides, it also makes multiples of exhaust pollution. To release this problem, the most effective way is to develop public transport. This paper established a model (PI) of transit priority strategies based on delay, queue length, quantities of wait vehicles, fuel consumption, CO emission, and HC emission. Among them, fuel consumption, CO emission, and HC emission are environment elements that added to this paper for the first time. After that, an evaluation is made based on cellular automata simulation, showing that the efficiency is improved by 17.7 percents when using multi-restrictions transit priority strategies, compared to that without any transit priority strategies.

Abstract: A large number of fatalities on road are occurred by vehicle accident. One of most significant causes of accident on road is increasing car ownership in last decade. The study is conducted to determine a relationship between car ownership and accident rate. The most effective parameters on increasing accident rate in developed countries are studied. This paper investigates a model that forecast the rate of accident on based on previous collected car ownership data. Meanwhile, those parameters can change the rate of car ownership such as income, distance between residential area and work zone, the number of employee over family size and registered car over employee are studied. The study is conducted on based on Australia data and Robust- regression techniques are used to analyse the data. The result shows robust regression reached the most effective coefficient to reduce fatalities on road.

Abstract: To reduce traffic incident, it is imperative to take effective measures. This paper presents a dynamic route guidance method based on capacity constrained allocation method. Firstly, it analyzes the character of capacity constrained allocation method which takes into account the right of way and traffic load characteristics and used ant algorithms to optimize algorithm. Secondly, it integrates with multi-period continuous dynamic route guidance to realize the redistribution of road traffic flow . Finally, an example is took to prove that this manner can be a perfect solution to the road traffic evens on the impact of the road traffic flow.

Abstract: In this paper, we present an equilibrium traffic assignment model considering uncertainties in traffic demands. The link and route travel time distributions are derived based on the assumption that OD traffic demand follows a log-normal distribution. We postulate that travelers can acquire the variability of route travel times from past experiences and factor such variability into their route choice considerations in the form of mean route travel time. Furthermore, all travelers want to minimize their mean route travel times. We formulate the assignment problem as a variational inequality, which can be solved by a route-based heuristic solution algorithm. Some numerical studies on a small test road network are carried out to validate the proposed model and algorithm, at the same time, some reasonable results are obtained.

Abstract: The construction of indemnificatory apartments in our country is now facing the dilemma that short of funds and financing channels. Though REITs can be an effective way to solve the problem, it has some obstacles in developing in China such as legislative vacancy. Draw lessons from American REITs pattern, the author provided four ways to improve the management of China indemnificatory apartments financing pattern, that is, to establish management system, establish operation system, provide text preference, and to establish professional operation system team.

Abstract: This study introduces random utility theory to ordinary weighted Voronoi diagram and describes its application in delimiting the services area of a regional highway passenger transport hub. The Euclidean distance was replaced by a utility function of hub’s capacity factor, travel distance, travel time, and monetary travel cost from passenger’s initial origin to the alternative hubs. The service area was delimited based on utility maximization principle and a nested-logit model for transport hub and travel mode. The application shows that the service area of a hub is not consistent with its administrative boundary. It proves Voronoi diagram is a reasonable and practical tool for detecting the service boundary of a hub by offering an integrated angle to recognize the interacting relationship between hub location, transport network, and passenger’s choice behaviors.
