Abstract: In order to optimize the space below railway lines of high-speed railway station, a pedestrian traffic simulation was presented. Hefei South Railway Station was taken for example, and the cumulative mean density, space utilisation, evacuation parameters of space below rail lines were analyzed according to the layout of yards and traffic organization schemes. In addition, the passengers’ distribution to different transportation modes, which includes subway, bus, and taxi, was also valuated.

Abstract: Starting from several aspects of site location, site size and site layout, this document studies the urban bus stop systematically, proposes the setting principles of urban bus stop. Take Yiwu bus stops for example, which focus on the analysis of the reasonable setting of the sites, and has provided guidance for the layout of urban bus stop.

Abstract: To determine passenger’s path choice is the base for research on ridership distribution in urban rail network. Considering passenger’s multi-days’ trips as a process to continuously update path information expressed by its sample mean and variance of travel cost, the paper establishes a self-learning model of passenger’s path choice in urban rail network based on Bayesian method by analyzing the acquisition of prior information beforetrip and knowledge updating after trip, as well as taking the adjustment of Urban Rail Transit operating conditions into account. The model proposed can be used to analyze the passenger flow formation and evolution mechanism in urban rail network.

Abstract: The barrier-free design of transportation hubs is the embodiment of modern civilization and the requirement for the city development. The barrier-free design of urban transportation hubs in Singapore has implemented the people-oriented concept and built a systematic, delicate, harmonious public barrier-free environment. By analyzing the barrier-free design of transportation hubs in Singapore and taking into consideration the speeding population aging and the growing demand of disabled people to integrate into society in our country, the enlightenment is summarized, which will provide reference to the establishment of barrier-free system of our urban transportation and the development of harmonious society.

Abstract: A cellular automata based model was presented for the simulation of passenger transfer behavior in metro stations. Microscopic simulation experiments of passenger behaviors ran under typical scenarios to study the effects of passenger number and train connection on transfer efficiency. The results show that tansfer distance and transfer facility capacity have regular effect on transfer time with fluctuation of passenger numbers. And train connection effects on transfer time with the influence of transfer distances. Therefore, sensitivity of transfer time was put forth as an indicator of coordination of passenger flow, facility attribute and train connection. Passenger flow sensitivity coefficient and connection sensitivity coefficient were defined as quantitative indicators to evaluate transfer coordination which was once difficult to quantify. Case study shows that the indicators reflect coordination level of transfer station effectively.

Abstract: Abstract. A large Y-shaped Intersection usually has the triangular island inside. In order to improve the traffic capacity of the intersection without demolishing the triangular island, a large Y-shaped intersection secondary starting model was established based on a typical example, which also includes the relevant outcomes of the intersection signal design. By comparing the improved design to the original design via VISSIM, it seems that the proposed model in this paper achieved a favorable testing result as expected.

Abstract: In recent years, urban rail transit construction asks for the safety of project with strict requests, because of its difficulty, high risk and complexity characteristics. Henggang metro depot possess double using garage , DC1500 contact rail system, and cover property on the top of the garage, thus it will face greater challenge in safety management. According to above characteristics, this research puts forward the system security goals, principles, and establishes a set of safeguard system, which includes three aspects: the legal laws and regulations, the organization construction, and the technical method. The safeguard system will play an important and guiding role in government standard formation and metro-property development mode promotion in other cities.

Abstract: The development of electric bus is crucial to the energy efficiency and CO2 reduction policies around the world. The research and manufacture technology of electric buses and batteries have matured in Taiwan, resulting in an established industrial chain. The development is promising. However, obstacles, such as the lack of infrastructure, high cost to build a bus, insufficient maintenance and servicing system and lack of essential knowledge to run an electric bus operation, are blocking the way for the development of electric bus. To solve them, we worked with electric bus manufacturer and bus services with experience in electric bus operations for operation diagnosis. The diagnosis revealed that the “financial pressure from operational capitals” is the top factor making the operation of electric bus difficult. In particular, the high cost to build one has the greatest impact. Secondly, an analysis on the models of traditional leasing and charging by mileage was performed to find out the strengths of both. An innovative and practically feasible financing model was developed by combining the separation of bus and electricity and green financing. Finally, an actuarial calculation was conducted to validate the effects of the model which is likely to minimize the operation risks for bus companies.

Abstract: It is the basis for increasing attraction of rail transit and maximizing the attraction of public transport to focus on summarizing the pattern and experience of growing rail passenger flow, and studying the characteristics of trip assignment. This paper studied specifically on the passenger assembling of the urban rail transit platform, and designed the calculation methods about assembling passengers on platform through the analysis of passenger flow characteristics. Based on the specific situation of the subway of Beijing south station, this paper analyzed the assembling of platform and obtained assembling data under different conditions. The result shows that, in order to smooth the assembling of platform, we could reduce the train arrival time-gap, stagger the up and down train’s arrival time and increase their arrival time-gap in a proper way.

Abstract: Taxi GPS data is collected to draw a scatter plot, and the city is divided into six traffic areas according to density distribution. It is inferred according to the traffic area distribution of where passengers get on and get off taxis each time that District 1 and 2 are central business districts, District 3 is for living and District 4 is for work. Daily activities of residents are mainly activities in the internal areas of the traffic areas, less cross-area activities. Office workers mainly commute between living areas and working areas and mainly focus on activities inside the traffic areas for the rest of the time.
