Abstract: This paper studied on the relationship between cognitive memory and background music by 2 x 3 two-factor variables experiment. According to the habit whether the testees are used to listenning to background music, the author divided them into two groups. When the subjects are arranged in three different kinds of music scenes, the impact of different background music on testees’ cognitive memory differed. The results show that pure pop music disturbs all the two groups, that pure soft music improves the people who are used to background music but hinders the ones who are not, and that there is no significant difference between group under no music condition.

Abstract: This is the highly effective method. In this paper an innovative theory for machining complicated surface is presented. By using a anural milling tool instead of ball-end mill or the flat-ended tool, and by adjusting the axis of cutter relative to the surface, the two surfaces, the swept surface and the required surface, have the same curvatures, up to as high as 3rd order. Through the deduction of differential equation, some theory on partial touching between surfaces and surfaces when manufacturing has been explored. The problem of axis orientation under this condition has also been discussed clearly. The outside of the circular tool is a surface; the surface to be machined is a groove, which can be represented by its transverse line. In this case the problem is attributed to the contact between surface and curve.

Abstract: Sculptured surface are used in a wide variety of applications in the automotive, aerospace and ship building industries, such as turbine blades, impeller and marine propellers. The original design concept is often embodied in a physical model, perhaps sculpted from clay by a skilled artisan, from which measurement data is scanned. Surfaces are fitted to the scanned data, and a mathematically precise description is then available for subsequent steps in the product-design process. Parametric forms such as the well known Bezier, B-spline and NURBS type usually mathematically define the surfaces. Typically, a design is composed of number of parametric surface patches. This is the highly effective method. In this paper an innovative theory for machining complicated surface is presented. By using an anural milling tool instead of ball-end mill or the flat-ended tool, and by adjusting the axis of cutter relative to the surface, the two surfaces, the swept surface and the required surface, have the same curvatures, up to as high as 3rd order.

Abstract: This paper aims to develop an effective and widely applicable creative design method. First, the relationships of integration between systematic inventive thinking (SIT) and theory of constraints (TOC) were analyzed. According to the analysis, a new model of SIT based on TOC was constructed. Next, the detailed creative design steps of this method were explained and a strategy to upgrade an old system or develop new systems based on an existing one was proposed in terms of this creative method. Then, an example was demonstrated to validate the method. This proposed creative design method is different from conventional approaches, which uses the elements in the design environment, and introduction of new element is avoided.

Abstract: Copper has some excellent performances in anti-erosion and high thermal conductivity. It is applicable in many important fields. In the paper, two methods of preparing Ni-Cr alloy cladding layer on the surface of copper are proposed, including the spray welding and YAG pulse laser cladding .Then the Ni-Cr alloy layer prepared on the copper is investigated by optical microscopy, there is no hole and crack in the cladding layer. The experimental results show the coating is metallurgically bonded with the substrate. In comparison to the prepared cladding layers, the Ni-Cr cladding layer prepared by YAG pulse laser is the better, the size of copper is not restricted, and the copper substrate isn’t preheated.

Abstract: To explore the impact of abrasive granularity, feed pressure and cutting feed speed on NC ultrasonic machining efficiency, a three-factor four-level orthogonal test was carried out, and data were analyzed to establish a ternary nonlinear regression model of NC ultrasonic machining efficiency. Furthermore, significance of the regression model and impact of all independent variables on dependent variables were studied. The study showed that when significance level is α = 0.01, the combination of the three factors tested impacts significantly on machining efficiency indicators. However, among the three factors, the abrasive granularity has the highest impact and its impact on the machining efficiency is nonlinear.

Abstract: Solenoid pump is widely used in the steam appliances. It is important to have a good understanding and research on the solenoid pump for its structural design and function design. The paper made a preliminary theoretical analysis to the problem of the flue attenuation of the solenoid pump and a preliminary verification through an experimental data. Through the understanding of the feature of the solenoid pump, it can make the design of the steam appliances more successfully.

Abstract: In order to solve the problems existing in geometric simulation of cutting process, slice segmentation method was presented in this paper. The instantaneous shape of roughcasts which are cut can be represented by the characteristics set that can be obtained through proper slice of machined parts and the intersection calculation of cutter and machined parts. By using this method, the accurate result of intersection calculation can be accurate and be gotten rapidly. Besides, because this method is based on visual C++ and OpenGL, it can be isolated from the commercial software. The method is proved to be feasible by the cutting simulation example of cylinder gears and bevel gears.

Abstract: As we all know everyone has IQ (Intelligence Quotient) and EQ (Emotion Quotient), but for designers DQ (Design Quotient) is much more important than the IQ and EQ. In this paper first the DQ situation of students major in Product Design in China is analyzed, and then the qualities required for studying design are explained in depth. There are two design qualities, one is Innate Quality (character factors), and the other is Acquired Quality (study factors). Finally the approaches of cultivating and improving design students’ DQ are discussed in detail from two levels—Concrete level and Metaphysical level.
