Abstract: In recent decade, containers become an important part of the world's economy. With the growth in offshore trade, problems about container and port are attention by research scholars in many countries. In the study on the problem in container ports, Berth Allocation and Quay Crane Scheduling problem are very important; optimization of the two problems can improve the efficient of container ports. In this paper, we describe and classify the main Berth Allocation Processes and Quay Crane Scheduling and present a survey of methods for their single optimization and integrate optimization.

Abstract: With the current development of the berth and quay crane in China, minimizing the total time of all ships stopping at the port, and maximizing the utilization rate of quay cranes to reduce the waiting time in the queue at the anchorage are the key to success in the field of container terminals. The objective of this paper is to minimize the total time of all stopped ships at the port and to maximize the operation efficiency of quay cranes. Compared with single berth and quay crane allocation, this paper analyzes the berth-quay crane as a whole, and an integer programming model with some constraints is built for this problem. Then the heuristic algorithm is used in this paper to optimize the problem and gain the solution. This paper provides a guide for practical operation.

Abstract: The storage block allocation, the yard truck and yard crane scheduling are three separate sub-problems in container terminals, playing an important role in the efficiency of port discharging operations. This paper proposes an integer programming model considering these three problems as a whole. The objective is to minimize the time when all the unloading operations have been completed and all containers have been stacked at storage block. A Local Sequence-Cut (LSC) method is developed to solve the problem.

Abstract: The determination of traffic demand for urban transportation system is one of the core content of urban traffic planning, it is the basis for the traffic demand management strategy. First of all, the paper expounds the concept of urban agglomeration and features, on this basis, the traffic supply and traffic demand of urban agglomeration transportation system is analyzed. Second, according to land area for urban residents travel demand, according to the classification of goods transport industry production requirements were determined, thus to construct a system of urban agglomeration transportation traffic demand model.

Abstract: This paper try to develop a transit scheduling model based on the time-space network. The object is using the minimum cost to finish the required trips in time-table with the consideration of certain assumptions and rules. In this paper we deal with the multi-depot vehicle schedule optimization problem, addressed as MDVSP, using one time-space network instead of the traditional connection-based networks. Furthermore, we introduce the concept of open-depot, which means the bus may not return the depot where it started.

Abstract: Bike sharing system is an important part of urban public transport system, mainly to undertake the function of connection and transfer with bus system, and connection with private car and satisfy the demand of citizen short-distance travel, and other functions. Setting bike sharing rental point is according to the planning of urban comprehensive transportation, using data on the residents travel , including travel rate, traffic structure, etc. and then to predict the proportion of future bike sharing to the total amount of travel, finally obtain bike sharing overall scale combining Bike sharing turn over rate.

Abstract: A new method based on information entropy theory and variable weight theory was used to evaluate urban expressway nodes in the present research. First of all, theory evaluation index system of urban expressway nodes was established on the basis of influence factors. Secondly, constant weight was established based on information entropy theory and state variable weight vectors were chosen according to the interplay of the influence factors. Thirdly, variable weight was established by using the constant weight and state variable weight vectors. Finally, the model was verified by an example. The results showed that the model based on variable weight could better evaluate the importance of urban expressway nodes and provide a theory for planning and designing urban expressway nodes.

Abstract: In order to thoroughly explore the causes of tragedies about Chinese university campus motor vehicle parking, the paper, viewing from the campus motor vehicle drivers’ perspective, adopts the game theory to study the process of the campus drivers’ interaction when parking. It is discovered that a trust game is established between the motor vehicle drivers, who frequently using parking as a Pareto inferior solutions, thus generating coordination failure. All motor vehicle drivers tend to overuse the campus parking, leading to the campus parking commons tragedy. In the conclusion section, solutions are given to solve the university campus parking problems.
