Abstract: A finite element model of an eddy current sensor array is built up by electromagnetic-circuit couple method, and the influences of conformable substrate thickness on sensor’s output characteristics are analyzed by the model. It is shown that the amplitude of sensing coils’ output would diminish as substrate thickness increased, besides, the discrepancies of sensing coils’ output also decrease when the substrate becoming thicker. Therefore tt is necessary to make the conformable substrate as thin as possible in sensor fabrication process to enhance the crack inspecting ability of the sensor.

Abstract: Transparent TiO2 thin films were deposited onto microscope glass slides by means of d.c. magnetron sputtering method. In order to enhance the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 thin films, Mo ions with different nominal doses were implanted into the TiO2 thin films. The samples were characterized by different technologies including X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscope (XPS) and UV-VIS-NIR spectrophotometer. The photodegradation results of methylene blue dye solution indicated that optimal dose of 2×1012ions/cm2 Mo ion-implantation resulted in a higher photocatalytic activity in the implanted TiO2 thin films.

Abstract: A composite of polytriphenylamine (PTPAn) and multiwalled carbon nanotube (CNT) was prepared and tested as a cathode material in the Li-ion battery. To research the crucial role and effect of CNT in the above composite electrode, a comparing cathode of PTPAn mechanically mixed with super-p carbon was prepared and tested in the similar Li-ion batteries. The results indicate that due to good resiliency and loosing structure of the composite, PTPAn/CNT composite cathode exhibits lower charge transfer resistance (Rct), higher discharge capacity and cycle stability than those of PTPAn+super-p electrode.

Abstract: To improve combustion properties of fuel oils, save energy and reduce pollution, the metal nanoparticles modified by fatty acids have been prepared. The dispersion capacities of these modified nanoparticles in liquid paraffin oil were examined, and were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectrum (FTIR) . The results show they possess similar crystal structure as organic shell, and average particle diameters, which are in agreement with their excellent oil-solubilities. Moreover, the properties of the modified nanoparticles additives in boiler fuel were evaluated by means of oxygen bomb relative method as regards energy saving and residual products lowering. The results show that the efficiency of combustion and decrement of residual products for fuels were improved to different degree. Therefore, notable economic and social benefits are brought.

Abstract: Abstract: This paper presents the findings of an investigation of the challenges Australian manufacturers are currently facing. A comprehensive questionnaire survey was conducted among leading Australian manufacturers. This paper reports the main findings of this study. Evidence indicates that product quality and reliability (Q & R) are the main challenges for Australian manufacturers. Design capability and time to market came second. Results show that there is no effective information exchange between the parties involved in production and quality control. Learning from the past mistakes is not proving to have significant effects on improving product quality. The technological innovation speed is high and companies are introducing as many as 5 new products in a year. This technological speed has pressure on the Q & R of new products. To overcome the new challenges, companies need a Q & R improvement model.

Abstract: Abstract. This paper analyzed the primary energy consumption and emission of VOC, CO, NOx, SO2, PM, CO2, CH4, N2O during natural gas (NG) exploitation, it showing that more than 65% of VOC, NOX, SOx, CH4, CO2 and greenhouse gas were discharged by electric energy and heat energy consumption during NG exploitation in all technique energy emission. Because of its important in NG exploitation, the consumption of electric energy and heat energy and its emissions produced should be reduced in order to reduce the emissions of NG exploitation.
