Abstract: The effects of aerobic and anaerobic conditions on polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) and glycerin yields during the course of lignin degradation were studied with Pseudomonas stutzeri P156. The lignin degradation rate was 22.5% and 15%, respectively, under aerobic and anaerobic condition. However, the gradation rate/biomass (YL/X) was nearly no differences that diversified from 0.9% to 3%. In addition, the maximal anaerobic yield of PHB and glycerin yield was 0.42 g/g and 56.3 ug/ml, which was 176.6% and 36.7% higher than that under aerobic condition, respectively. Interestingly to point out, anaerobic lignin degradation rate was decreased by 33.3% relative to the aerobic one, but lignin content did decreased by 15% at the cost of higher yields of PHB and glycerin, which suggested biosyntheses of PHB and glycerin could balance the redox potential under anaerobic condition, facilitate lignin degradation by Pseudomonas stutzeri P156, persistently, and meet the process demands of straw-based anaerobic methane fermentation.

Abstract: Sufu is a traditional Chinese fermented food. The safety of spontaneous fermentation products has been concerned by more and more people. A total of four isolates with big clear halos on the casein medium plate were isolated from spontaneous fermented Sufu in southern Sichuan. A1 and A3 most likely belong to Bacillus cereus B according to their phenotype and Biolog Microbial Identification System. B2 was classified in group as Bacillus amyloliquefaciens B with the same methods. A2 was identified as Bacillus subtilis according to their phenotype and 16SrRNA. The safety of the strains are also discussed.

Abstract: Two series of novel N-nitro-2-pyrimidinamine derivatives were synthesized from ethyl acetoacetate, dimethyl malonate and nitroguanidine with good yields and high efficiency. The fungicidal activities of the synthesized compounds against nine fungal species were studied both in vitro and in vivo. Some of these compounds like 4,6-dihydr oxy -N-nitro-2-pyrimidinamine and 4,6-dihydroxy-5-isopentyl-N-nitro-2-pyrimidinamine showed obvious inhibitory of the mycelium growth at 50 mg/L. The structure-activity relationship of these compounds was also discussed.

Abstract: Three pairs of 2-phenyl-6,7-dihydrobenzofuran-4(5H)-one oxime and corresponding oxime ether isomers were synthesized and separated as potential anti-ulcer agent. Their structures were characterized by NMR, IR, ESI-MS and elemental analysis. Preliminarily H+/K+-ATPase activity evaluation indicated that all the target compounds had a better inhibitory effect than the commercial omeprazole with the IC50 of 2.0~30.0 μM.

Abstract: Using perchloric acid, Nd2O3, Er2O3 and L-isoleucine (Ile) as raw materials, two crys-talline compounds of rare earth isoleucine chlorate, [Nd2(Ile)4(H2O)8](ClO4)6 and [Er2(Ile)4(H2O)8](ClO4)6, were synthesized. Their compositions were determined after chemical analysis, IR spectrum study, thermogravimetric (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). By using the RD496-2000 microcalorimeter, the standard enthalpies of formation of the synthesized compounds were obtained according to a pre-designed thermal cycle. Four sets of TG data with different heating rates (2.5 K•min-1, 5 K•min-1, 10 K•min-1 and 15 K•min-1) were obtained. After the exploration of the kinetic data in the non-isothermal thermal decomposition process, the activation energy E, the logarithm of the pre-exponential factor lnA, the reaction order n, and the dynamical equation of the water loss step were derived. Ozawa method was also used to test the obtained dy-namical data.

Abstract: A new practical and efficient route was developed for the synthesis of 6,7-dihydro-5H-cyclopenta[b]pyridine, which is a key intermediate of cefpirome. Leading to the formation of the corresponding product, nucleophilic addition, acetylization, Vilsmeier cyclization reaction and dechlorination were employed under mild reaction conditions by using commercially available cyclopentanone and benzylamine as raw materials. The total yield of this newly developed synthetic route for the target product was 43.15% with 99.7% of purity (HPLC). The structure of target molecular was confirmed by LC-MS and 1H NMR spectrum.

Their structures were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, MS and elemental analysis.

Abstract: This paper focuses on the effect by sodium sulfite on the enzyme activity and stabilization of rice bran. First, enzymes are studied by detecting the activity of lipase and peroxidase. Then the total antioxidant capacity is tested in order to clarify the effect of sodium sulfite on antioxidant substances. Finally, processed rice bran is storaged in constant temperature to observe the change of fatty acid and peroxide value. The optimal condition is 4% sodium sulfite for 150min. The results show that the sodium sulfite can reduce the enzyme activity to improve the stability of rice bran.

Abstract: A significant acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity was observed for the Ethanolic extract from the leaves of Calophyllum polyanthum by using TLC bioautographic method. Further bioassay-guided isolation of this extract using TLC bioautographic method resulted in obtaining a pyranochromanone, apetalic acid (1). The structure of 1 was identified by comparison of it’s spectral characteristics with previous reports. The concentration required for 50% inhibition of 1 was 0.95 mM, determined by a microplate assay. The anti-acetylcholinesterase aity of compound 1 was weak, but it was the first pyranochromanone which have anti-acetyl cholinesterase activity. As a new leading compound, it can be modified and transformed to obtain more potently active compounds.
