Abstract: As one of the 3D modeling key technology, polygon transform have some operation and manipulation methods which can be applied neatly and confirmed by the characteristic of practical model. Polygon transform methods such as inserting vertex, inserting polygon, extrusion, transition join, triangulation and iterative triangulation algorithm and so on are discussed by using practical examples of reverse modeling in this paper. The experiment results show that using these methods synthetically have an effect on constructing and transforming complicated 3D model. We can thin polygons, redefine new local models, extrude polygon outwards or inwards and largen or reduce selective polygon borderline, form a new rolling polygon which joins on the original model, and subsection polygon into triangles by defining new borders inside the polygon.

Abstract: Spherical BOP is one of crucial equipments in snubbing operation well in petroleum industries, with its core element of rubber sealing element, the connection between the spherical surface of metal skeleton and the rubber is irregular surface, it is difficult to determine the model by manual surveying and mapping. The paper put forward a design method on spherical bop rubber sealing element with the reverse engineering technology. Through the analysis of the reverse surveying and mapping basic requirements on spherical bop rubber sealing element, determined its data acquisition path and process spherical, and puts forward some solutions to the data merger, data transfer and the method of pixels processing.

Abstract: The performances of the high precision turning center will be influenced by the thermal characteristics of the headstock seriously, and accurately predict thermal characteristics of the headstock are helpful to improve the design level. The headstock of a high precision turning center produced by some plant has been regarded as the research objects of the paper. First the steady temperature distribution and thermal deformation of the headstock were calculated based the finite element analysis models of the headstock. Then the temperature sensitive points of the headstock were obtained by using the grey incidence analysis method. Finally the thermal error compensation model was built by using multiple linear regression method. The study lays a foundation for the thermal error compensation of the headstock of the turning center.

Abstract: Taking a large vertical machining center spindle box as research object, its three-dimensional model is established by using Pro/ENGINEER software. Due to the seamless integration between ANSYS Workbench and Pro/ENGINEER, ANSYS Workbench is used to structural analysis of static and dynamic characteristics of spindle box. It has been achieved which includes static stress, deformation, inherent frequencies and vibration mode. Based on the analysis results, improvement scheme for spindle box structure has been proposed and validated. This study provides theoretical basis for design and improvement of machining center spindle box.

Abstract: By adopting CFD numerical simulation software, the steady numerical simulation of original engine inlet is carried on. On base of the original one, two new inlets are redesigned and their velocity fields are analyzed. From the simulation of CFD, we can learn that with the different inlet, the average flow velocity increases when the swirl ratio rises in same cross-section. Then the experiment of inlets with different geometry is carried on. Considered various kinds of performance of the engine, we found that the swirl ratio which is generated by the inlet should not be too high, but it also is not good with too low swirl ratio. In this investigation, comprehensive consideration of economy and power, the no.1 inlet is selected as the best one for the next study.

Abstract: By application of the theory and methods of discrete element, a loader loading process three-dimensional simulation model was established, the simulation model established in EDEM software realized the visualization of loader inserting process. By three different particle size materials inserting process simulation, material motion characteristic could be obtained and the laws of motion of different size material were compared. Simulation results show that regardless of the particle size, compaction zone (dense core) were generated. For small particles, during insertion of the material there was a distinct shear slip plane and for coarse particles, slip plane was not obvious. The simulation results were consistent with the results of previous analysis and verified that the discrete element method and the model in the loading process were effective in the study.

Abstract: In order to improve GW15 gasoline engine’s power and economy, AVL BOOST/FIRE software has been applied to the simulation of the engine’s one-dimensional and coupled 1D-3D simulation. First, optimal length of exhaust runner was obtained by simulation with BOOST, and proposed two types of structures schemes. Then, the better one was selected for BOOST and FIRE coupling in order to further optimize the exhaust runner according to the numerical simulation results. Finally, the engine performances were verified through experiment. The results indicate that both the engine’s maximal torque and maximal power increase, specific fuel consumption decreases.

Abstract: In the process of screening, the screening efficiency and sieving rate calculations are traditional and based on the probability and statistics method in the past. Using CUDA technology which has characteristics of high degree of parallelism, multithreading, powerful computing capability and high memory bandwidth and discrete element method, it is convenience to simulate the movement of massive particles in the process of screening. On the basis of previous works, the feasible way of discrete element numerical calculation methods can be found and efficient simulation of particle movement could be designed in order to provide a basis for the future transformation.

Abstract: In order to improve the pump wear performance and optimize pump design, the Euler-Lagrange approach is chosen to simulate the flow in the impeller. The fluid phase is treated as a continuum by solving the N-S equations, while the dispersed phase is solved by using Lagrange Method through the calculated flow field. The results show that the reflex appears in the blade inlet of pressure sides in high flow conditions, but appears in the blade inlet of suction sides in low flow conditions, which possibly induce the cavitation erosion. In low flow conditions, reflex and eddies appear in the blade outlet of both the pressure sides and the suction sides, and the reflex areas even extend to the middle of blades. In the range of simulated conditions, the suction sides don’t collide with particles. The pressure sides collide with particles in the form of continuous impact in low flow conditions but scratch in high flow conditions.

Abstract: The hydraulic systemic load spectrum of wring has been constructed by time with press and flow rate under deferent working condition on ship. The root mean square value of reel axial torque was calculated by weighted processing and was taken for the basis of the calculation on structure critical load. Based on the block of load spectrum, the virtual fatigue calculation showed the relation about the static strength and critical load block of load spectrum. Keeping the ratio of the static strength and critical load, the force analysis of wring reel aimed to the structure weight reduction by finite element analysis (FEA). The established wholly parametric and weight reduction model of wring structural part had been computed and meets the strength and stiffness requirement. The weight of this reel is reduced by 15.5 kg and lightweight effect is 8%. This method of weight reduction can be used to the reference on the design of hydraulic deck machinery of ship and hydraulic actuation construction machinery.
