Abstract: The effects of EGR operating mode on particulate morphology were investigated for a 5.79-liter diesel engine which was equipped with a turbocharged and inter-cooled air induction system, a common-rail direct fuel injection system, and an EGR system. Morphological characteristics, such as primary particle size, number concentration and aggregate particle size were investigated by a transmission electron microscope (TEM) analysis and a electrical low pressure impactor (ELPI) under engine operating conditions of 0.41 in fuel/air ratio at different exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) rate from 0~35%. The experimental results indicated that primary particle were in the range of 17.05nm~18.34nm, which increased with increased EGR rate. As EGR rate increased, aggregate particle size were measured in a narrow range from 120nm to 170nm.

Abstract: The efficiency of an evaporative cooler on different cooling pads have been studied. Two type of cooling pads made of a curtain fabric and a raw cotton fabric were comparatively studied. The effect of blower speeds at 725, 1015 and 1450 RPM and water flow rate of 26.9 liters per minute were investigated. The results showed that an average of the different temperature between inlet and outlet were 2.9 oC and 1.7 oC for a curtain fabric and a raw cotton fabric, respectively. Saturation efficiency of the cooling pads made of a curtain fabric was in the ranges of 46.3 to 61.3% or represents an average of 54.8%, and 29.7 to 39.2% or represents an average of 33.2% for a raw cotton fabric.

Abstract: With the Three Gorges reservoir built up, the water level rises sharply and the low construction water level in dry season does not exist. The relatively low water level is in draw-off period and building port faces long time of deep water level and precipitous fluctuation of water level in flood period. There are huge quantities under water. The construction period of low water level is short and the height of water level is up to 30 meters. Port construction is more difficult and complex at the Three Gorge reservoir region. This paper aims at these situations and puts forward the port constructing technique in deep water areas. It will provide guidance and reference in wharf construction.

Abstract: Construction industry is accident-prone industry with high percentage of occupational accidents against total number of employees, to prevent safety accident, a lot of safety management system has been developed and applied to construction industry, a safety manger’s time to inspect the construction site has rather decreased due to increase in burden of administrative work for safety management. As a result, there was a doubt on the efficiency of intensified safety management activities. Therefore, this study is aimed to investigate current safety management activities and propose a more practical and efficient management plan after analyzing strengths and weaknesses so far through a questionnaire survey.

Abstract: The voltages, resonant waves and frequencies how to influence on the ion energy distributions (IEDs) from multiple frequencies driven in capacitive discharges, it is important to analyze these phenomenon and mechanism in order to control the microelectronic processes of integrated circuit and develop the base theories of plasma physics. We focused on the function of the ion energy distributions under high and low frequencies (dual frequency) drive in capacitive discharges, we derived a model of computation of the multiple frequencies driven IEDs from analyzing theories. The model can analyze and predict the IEDs under different high and low frequencies driven, the results from the model are in good agreement with these important data from public publish.

Abstract: Research on coal mining subsidence under highway can be divided into two fields: research on the problems caused by coal mining under highway and research on the problems caused by highway construction above mined-out area of coal mine.The issues about safety,design and engineering are the key points restricting the safety and the construction of highway in coal mining areas. The paper completely summarized and analysed the present situation of research on coal mining subsidence under highway and the special characteristics comparing with the general building and the railway. In order to ensure the safety of existing highways and highways in planning in coal mining areas, according to the deficiency of current research, this paper put forward the future research directions of coal mining subsidence under highway.

Abstract: The problem of air conditioning and refrigeration system for a shopping mall is diagnosed in detail. Subsequently, transformation of air conditioning and refrigeration system is carried out. One-time investment, operating costs and payback period of this transformation is analyzed in detail. Result of this transformation shows this transformation is more successful.

Abstract: Three cases of cables fire experiments with different ventilation rate in real scale electronic cabinet have been carried out. In each experiment, five cables with 14mm in out diameter and four copper conductors with 1650mm in length were used. the insulation and cover of the cables was combustible .Temperature of the fire cables, CO ,O2 as well as temperature in different location in the center of the cabinet in the fire cabinet were measured as a function of time. The key role of the ventilation rate on the temperature in the center of the cabinet and the concentration of CO and O2 were clearly shown, but the influence on fire spread of cable fire was not so much significantly.

Abstract: One brief introduction of side OOP and TWG test are given. Comparison application of the airbag deployment simulation in LS-DYNA between Control Volume Method(CV), Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian Method(ALE) and Corpuscular Method(CPM) are descripted. CPM theory could describe the gas flow that is necessary for OOP(out of position) research. Three kinds of TWG tests were conducted and acceptable Hybrid Ⅲ 3YO dummy injury repeatability was achieved. The simulation used in side OOP simulation get good correlation results. Influences of many parameters in side OOP constraint system could be studied based on the simulation and test results.

Abstract: Based on the existing test results of single shear bolted connection fabricated with cold-formed ferritic stainless steel, in this study, the experiment for double shear bolted connections with bolt arrangements(1×2, 2×2) and end distance parallel to the loading direction as main variables has been performed. Specimens were planed with a constant dimension of edge distance perpendicular to the loading direction, bolt diameter, pitch and gauge. Ultimate strength and fracture mode obtained from test results were compared with those predicted by current American and Japan design codes such as AISI and AIJ.
