Abstract: As amount of information in construction industry is growing, the role of information system in project management is becoming increasingly important. With the emerging IT application to the advancing construction industry, construction project management system with advanced technology has been progressed vigorously to improve construction productivity and management efficiency. Recently, a web-based Project Management Information System (PMIS) is developed to support decision-making process by efficiently managing project related information generated from various discipline. Many firms are in the process of developing the PMIS system or already have been applied the system to various projects. However, PMIS is still in its early stage of development to be applied at industrial plant construction projects. With the complexity of the industrial plant projects, the industry practitioners need to be able to visualize the construction schedule information to manage the project efficiently. This study suggests methodologies for improving PMIS specialized for industrial plant piping construction projects to estimate the baseline schedule and performance measurement more accurately by developing a framework for the piping construction projects. By using this developed system, the researchers expect that piping construction projects will be more efficiently managed on a real-time basis through measuring progress of piping at each and every state of progress milestone and provide management with opportunities to forecast the level of efforts required to execute the remaining work scope in a timely manner.

Abstract: BIM is a method which is based on the integration of digitalization technology and visualization technology to manage information related project construction. This paper states the build process of imitating reality by using BIM’s visualization technology with multi-dimension and large data, and unique features for finding the potential problems and risks under virtual construction environment by BIM’s technology, so as to find problems in advance and evaluate them preliminarily, put forward corresponding countermeasures and prevent measures, work out optimized scheme to guide the real construction, and control effectively the project’s quality, progress and cost. BIM solves fundamentally the management defects from traditional project, and will certainly bring about a series of great changes in the circles of project management.

Investment efficiency, social benefits, environmental benefits are affected by the quality of the construction investment projects. With the rapid development of industry and intelligent buildings, electrical engineering will become more and more useful and important. This thesis based on the engineering practice gives a systematic analysis of the role and significance of electrical engineering project management in construction.

Abstract: BIM was applied in building in China. It has three characteristics: abundant information, automatic drawing and multi-lateral cooperation. This paper analyses BIM application status, various stages of transportation project and its characteristics. Then the paper purposes a basis which concludes decision stage, construction stage and operation stage of transportation project data standards. It also develops large BIM platform which covers projects and all stages.

Abstract: In the Bill of Quantities mode, the bidder must take risks of his tender offer. This paper researched on the uncertainty of construction projects costs, proposed Monte Carlo simulation method and procedure to simulate the construction projects costs on the basis of the construction projects costs conform to the characteristics of normal distribution, and also put forward a method to calculate risks of the tender offer in accordance with the established bidding strategy, which are helpful to the risk management and control of project contracting enterprises.

Abstract: A new type of reinforced concrete (RC) structure termed concrete filled fabricated concrete tubular (CFFCT) was economically evaluated. Construction schedule time and construction cost of CFFCT and RC columns were analyzed both in case studies of building structure and bridge structure. A comparative analysis was done on two types of columns by studying on single column and present value of total construction cost. The results show that use of CFFCT shortens the construction schedule time and lowers the total construction cost. The investigation of the multistory building shows that using CFFCT results in an average of 2.31% savings on total project cost, an average of 28.67% savings on total column costs, 25.12% savings on total project time period, and 45.22% savings on columns construction time period. And the investigation of the bridge shows that using CFFCT results in an average of 3.27% savings on total project cost, an average of 46.87% savings on total column costs, 15.68% savings on total project time period, and 29.90% savings on columns construction time period.

Abstract: Currently urban road works has changed from new constructions to conservations, but unlike municipalities with rich resources, most road maintenance works of most townships are done by a few engineers, manually and complicated, affecting the quality and progress of road maintenance works. To this end, this study uses pavement maintenance management system, replacing parts of the manual tasks, and a standard with objective data to decide the appropriate range and conservation engineering methods, in order of increasing the efficiency.

Abstract: In recent years, food safety problems have emerged frequently in China. Fake and poor quality food and the indiscriminate use of additives are to be blamed. However, out-dated cold chain logistics is the more important reason. If the cold chain conditions are not good, the food will deteriorate through long-distance transportation, which will cause food safety problems when they are sold to the final consumers. Cold chain logistics is a major food safety measures. In Chins, through the production, circulation and consumption of cold fresh food, out-dated cold chain not only causes a great economic loss but also threatens food safety .Based on the SWOT analysis, this thesis studies Chongqing agricultural products cold chain logistics development strategy in both qualitative and quantitative aspects in order to better provide directions for the policy makers.
