Abstract: Considering rapid growth in the number of foreign laborers, a systematic and practical management system and related laws need to be prepared. For this reason, this study is to survey and analyze the difference in awareness of construction safety education between site managers and foreign workers. As a result, both of them feel there is a need for additional safety education.

Abstract: Focusing on actual demolition conflicts, which have exerted negative effects upon society, a power-dilemma model has been constructed, which illustrates three power dilemmas in demolition conflicts including power-dilemma caused by spatial distance, power-dilemma caused by psychological distance and power-dilemma caused by responsibility shifting. Besides, detailed analysis on demolition conflicts based on asymmetrical power was presented from the perspective of social cognition.

Abstract: The promptness and accuracy of an estimate is one of the factors that can make or break a construction project. The gravity of this fact places a lot of stress on the workers in charge of quotations, and this in turn has an effect on the quality of their quotations. While this reality has been widely acknowledged, there have been no studies on the stress factors that affect the workers in charge of quotation. For this reason, this study aims to analyze the stress factors that have an influence on these workers. Through the results of the survey, 29 stress factors in 5 areas were identified. A correlation analysis was performed to understand the correlation by stress factor. Through this analysis, it was found that the main stress factor that can reduce the stress of the workers in charge of quotation, if appropriately managed, is organizational relationship conflict.

Abstract: In recent years, the number of foreign workers employed on construction sites in Korea has been on the rise, and industrial accidents involving foreign workers have become a social issue. Yet despite this fact, the interest in safety education for foreign workers has still been relatively low. For this reason, the purpose of this study is to analyze the current state of safety education for foreign construction workers. To conduct an analysis of the current status, we surveyed foreign construction workers currently working at construction sites. Based on the results of this survey, we have derived an outline for an improvement plan founded on an awareness of and problems in safety education for foreign workers.

Abstract: According to the current situation and problems of the risk response of China's construction market, from the selection of risk factors and its weight, expert evaluation score, and other aspects, and applies the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method of the system thinking, analyzes the reliability of the risk response plan, studies the application of the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method in more risk solutions to select, and the results show that the comprehensive evaluation value of each plan is organic combined the experience of experts with the strict quantitative analysis, and enhance the evaluation results of scientific and reasonable and accuracy.

Abstract: This paper first research two old city transformation projects’ basic information: the Shanghai little Lujiazui and London Canary Wharf. Then do the comparative study in the full life cycle view from four aspects: the management target, the management subject, the management object and the management process. Due to the two countries different system and development levels, even the similar old city transformation project, still reflect different aspects of management in the strategic adjustment, resources allocation and construction standards. Learning advanced experience, learning from each other, are always comparative analysis purposes.

Abstract: The investment payback period of construction projects is an important index that evaluate and measure economic effect of project investment. It is difficult that the investment payback period of construction projects is calculated generally using analytic method. We established the mathematical model of the payback period, the annual net cash flows are Markov chains. According to the similar projects, collected net yearly cash flow and each quarter net cash flow, A one-step transition probability matrix was described by using the computer simulation of Markov chains, forecasted the dynamic and static payback period of construction projects investment. so as to provide the scientific basis data for decision makers.

Abstract: Early understanding of construction cost represents a critical factor of a feasibility study in the early design phase of a project. A new project cost estimation model based on Gaussian Process was proposed. Gaussian Process model theory was introduced, and project cost estimation model based on Gaussian Process’ flow chart was analyzed in detail. Through example analysis, project cost estimation model based on Gaussian Process using Nelder-Mead and genetic algorithms algorithm was proven feasible for this problem and represented accuracy than BP neural network.

Abstract: Engineering consulting as a thriving new industry, facing the world becomes the inevitable trend of its development. As an international engineering consulting company, how to make a project investment evaluation in the region which has a changing political and economic, and has a different cultural and law turns to be very important. Basis on the investigation and study of the environmental factors of the area intends to invest, this article introduce explain structure model, find the hierarchical structural relationship of related various environmental factors, then do different analysis to the factors according to the different degree of affecting. The results show that: using explain structure model in project environment analysis, we can not only find the decisive influence factor to analysis, but also provide theory support to the subsequent investment decision.

Abstract: Sustainable development is the topic of the world development in the current, and it isn't also an exception for construction industry which is one of the pillar industries of the national economy. It will produce a series of environment problems during the operation process of construction industry, and result in great influence on human. Furthermore, cost management is an important research subject in the construction industry, and its purpose is also to pursue composite benefits. We should stand on the higher layer, the whole society and economy layer, and pay attention to the project’s impacts on society and environment to realize the total optimum profits of economy, society and environment. Researching cost management based on the strategy of sustainable development has important realistic meaning to the project itself and even the whole world.
