Abstract: The solar-powered platform has great application prospects with its unique characteristics of high cruising altitude and long endurance. This paper presents a high-aspect-ratio long straight composite wing structure. A 3D FEM model is used to study the mechanical performance of the wing under gust, by applying nonlinear analytical method. The wing optimization is focused on high stiffness and light weight. A wing structure of feasible strength and stiffness is obtained. Through analysis, several engineering conclusions are obtained. In addition, the instability features of the main spar are included as well.

Abstract: An algorithm is proposed to weave curve network on the multi-line contour, which refers to analysis and design of algorithms in computational geometry and uses convex hull to construct network on the surface of multi-line contour. First of all, with the incremental algorithm, a convex hull of point set, composed of the first and the last point of the feature line segment, is constructed. Then, by using the mapping from convex hull to fitting surface, an initial network is formed which meets the rules of the two-dimensional manifold. At last, a two-dimensional manifold network of feature curves is acquired by modifying connection of the curve network on the multi-line contour. In conclusion, the algorithm this paper put forward is intuitive, concise and easy to be implemented, and the woven curve network can precisely reflect the shape and the topology of the multi-line contour.

Abstract: A grid generation method for the three-dimensional arbitrary complex geometry of casting is introduced for the foundry simulation. The approach of a STL (STereo Lithography) model from CAD to a distance field is described in detail. The mesh generated by this approach is based on a fully threaded tree and refined at specific positions according to the distance field. This algorithm may make the mesh become fine at the surface and coarse inside. Several examples are provided to validate this algorithm.

Abstract: Drive axle housing is one of the major load-supporting components of trucks. This paper takes a drive axle housing of a light commercial vehicle as the research object. The model of the drive axle housing is established by Pro/E software, on the basis of this model, the finite element analysis is carried by ANSYS to get the results of stress and strain under the defined constraints and loads, to find the weak links in the design. Aiming at achieving the goal of the least weight, the permission stress and displacement are defined and the thickness of the drive axle housing is considered as the design variable to optimize the design. The result of optimization design provides a theoretical guidance for truck driving axle housing designing.

Abstract: In this research, Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) simulation was performed by using the simulation software (AnyCasting) in order to optimize casting design of an automobile part (Oil Pan_7G9E) which is well known and complicated to achieve a good casting layout. The simulation results were analyzed and compared carefully in order to apply them into the production die-casting mold. During the filling process, internal porosities caused by air entrap were predicted and reduced remarkably by the modification of the gate system and the configuration of overflow. With the solidification analysis, internal porosities caused by the solidification shrinkage were predicted and reduced by the modification of the gate system.

Abstract: The visual and simulated system of the orbiting satellite based on the OpenGL technology is designed and realized in this paper, in which a visualization platform of the satellite in-orbit running is constructed. The simulation system has constructed the satellite model and the earth model by making use of 3DS MAX technology, and achieved the visualization of satellite in-orbit-running, the visualization of the communication route and of the overlay effect. At the same time, which has realized the access to the database of the orbiting satellite by means of ADO technology .The practices have proven that the system can simulate the whole process of satellite in-orbit-running in real-time, and provides the assistant support platform of the real-time management and decision. Apart from this, the system provides the network training of the space forces with virtual training platform. It is of great significance to construct the virtual battlefield simulation system.
