Abstract: Single wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs)/chitosan (CS) composite was synthesized by electrostatic interactions between positively charged CS and negatively charged carboxylic group-functionalized SWNTs. The SWNTs/CS composite was characterized by using scanning electron microscopic and electrochemical analysis. The experimental results show that the SWNTs/CS composite is stable and homogeneous and has excellent electrochemical property.

Abstract: To achieve a high speed multi-point temperature acquisition with a low cost, this paper used the methods as following:In the aspect of hardware, adopted “multi-point&multi-channel” structure(detailed content in main text); In software aspect,by a parallel synchronous fast reading algorithm, this achieved efficient processing. The program learned from the operating system interrupt algorithm to optimize the interrupt program. By experiment, the system achieved the effect of concurrent reading, realized the efficient and precise system operation.

Abstract: The ultra-long optical fiber of optoelectronic oscillator (OEO) and the high spectral purity of the high frequency microwave signal open the possibility of high-accuracy distance measurement at long range. Sensitivity of distance measurement is highly depending on the length of the cavity. Base on the theory of optoelectronic oscillator and the distance measurement method, the sensitivity is calculated and the demand for spectral-purity of microwave signal are proposed and verified by experiments. Consider the demands of the measurement sensitivity, the spectral purity and the measurement range, as well as the error introduced by environment, the fiber length of OEO would be about 1km when the resolution of frequency measurement is 1Hz.

Abstract: A novel refractive index sensor based on the resonant coupling mechanism is proposed. The sensor consists of a standard index-guiding solid fiber core and several periodically distributed micro fluidic channels. When the channels are infiltrated with high-index fluid, the resonant coupling between the core mode and cladding modes makes the sensing fiber to be a stop-band filter. Since the filtering effect introduced by the photonic band-gap of the cladding is sensitive to the refractive index of the measurand, numerical results reveal that the sensitivity of the sensor could reach 17250nm/RIU, which is much higher than traditional refractive index fiber sensors.

Abstract: This study examines the use of multifunctional sensors for corrosion monitoring in various conditions. Experimental tests were carried out on mortar specimens to verify the applicability of a multifunctional sensor. Single-functional sensors measuring the potential and current were also used for comparison. The factors measured were the corrosion potential, galvanic cell current, resistivity, and corrosion rate. The results show that at least under the present testing conditions, the multifunctional sensor is quite useful for detecting the corrosion severity.

Abstract: A sensitive electrochemical aptasensor for detection of thrombin based on target protein-induced strand displacement is presented. For this proposed aptasensor, dsDNA which is from immobilized probe DNA (IP) which has a hybridized with aptamer(Apt) initially was immobilized on the Au electrode through thiol group of IP,while a DNA labeled with PdS nanoparticles was used as a detection probe (DP-PdS). When Au electrode immersed into solution which contain target protein and DP-PdS, the aptamer preferred to form G-quarter structure with the present target protein and dsDNA was released into immobilized probe DNA (IP) which could be hybridized with DP-PdS. After dissolving PdS from electrode, a mercury-film electrode was used for electrochemical detection of these Pd2+ ions which offered excellent electrochemical signal transduction. Detection of thrombin was specific without being affected by the coexistence of other proteins such as BSA and lysozyme, and as low as 2.3×10-11 mol/L of thrombin was detected.

Abstract: The accuracy of multi-sensor navigational data fusion by federated Kalman filter will be reduced in condition that the systems dynamics model is nonlinear and the noise statistical properties are unknown. To address this problem, a federated Interacting Multiple Model-Unscented Kalman Filteing (IMM-UKF) algorithm is presented. The UKF is a nonlinear estimation method which can achieve the accuracy at least to the second-order. The IMM estimation algorithm is one of the cost-effective adaptive estimation algorithm for systems involving parametric changes. The combination of IMM with UKF could deal with the problem of nonlinear filtering with uncertain noise. Simulation results show that the method can improve the accuracy of INS/GPS/odometer integrated navigation.

Abstract: The research presents a novel automatic anemometer based on the technology of automatic multi-dimensional thermoelectric sensor array. The multi-dimensional thermoelectric sensor array was designed to form a double-ring structure using commercial thermocouples to detect real-time airflow temperature distribution, velocity and direction. The sensing arrays and a controllable heater and a human-machine interface that is calibrated by a hot-wire anemometer. The anemometer has advantages of low cost, real-time detection with fast response. Related air flow information has measured accurately and repeatability.

Abstract: The height sensor based on ultrasonic uses the ultrasonic characteristics to make real-time analysis of the echo signal to get the change of distance. By improving the precision of ultrasonic height sensor, it can be used in the air suspension to calculate the deformation of suspension more accurately, which can help to improve vehicle running smoothness and handling stability.
