Abstract: This paper tries to identify the characters which might affect interprovincial migrants decisions and examine how and why the influence of these characters changes over time individually and synthetically in China during 1985-2005. We have investigated six kinds of factors, including distance, population density, income, unemployment rate, house price, and migration stock. In addition, we apply the identified factors with a multiple stepwise regression model to a longitudinal dataset, which consists of the interprovincial migration flows over last two decades in China. It is found that different factors have disparate impacts on migration in China, and they can be decomposed into push force in origin area and pull force in destination area. Factors shaping Chinas interprovincial migration have shifted from traditional factors such as distance to economic factors such as income and unemployment rate. This paper suggests that more attention should be paid to obtain detailed migration data with spatial information and develop applicable models for migration processes. Our analysis provides references for development planners and policy-makers to develop sound population policies to achieve regional sustainable development in China.

Abstract: Owning to the restrictions from the lack of professional skills and objective factors, rural labor force in resource-abundant region mainly transfers to the local industries with low demands on employment, such as the energy industry and service industry. According to the empirical study, the transfer of rural labor force in resource-abundant region is mainly influenced by such factors as the wage income, transfer cost, educational level and professional skill, and in order to solve the problems concerning rural labor transfer, it can promote the labor force transfer properly through perfecting the labor market, establishing comprehensive community, strengthening the vocational-technical education and developing new industries.

Abstract: In this note we show how the compartmental approach can be used as a tool to analyze rural-urban migration with heterogeneity of the multi-agents and introduce it into the dynamic models for regional spatial structure. The analysis suggests that compartmental approach would permit us to build a model described by a completely deterministic system of dynamic equation and to use more simple mathematical instruments.

Abstract: The population growth in this model system avoid the internal factors and the linkages between them. On the basis of grey theory , GM (1, 4) model has been given to simulate the relationship of population and births, deaths and population of women of childbearing age, which has a high fitting precision, reflected the population and the relationship between the various factors. Then the factors of the total population have been analysised and forecasted by the optimized GM (1,1) model, so the forecasting model of the total population has been given, which can give the short-term forecast of the population growth.

Abstract: Till now, ecological immigrations in Three Rivers District in Tibetville Village of Qinghai province have achieved a great progress; however, there are some issues we should pay attention to. This paper tries to adopt the Push and Pull Theory to analysis the factors of their migration; meanwhile, because of the special dimensions of minorities in the northwest region, the anti push and pull factors and the reasons of their move back will be combined together. The conclusion is that to set up reasonable and useful compensation mechanism is very crucial for ecological immigrations.

Abstract: Based on the resource-based cities, we could establish a comprehensive evaluation index system. Principal component analysis (PCA) model is perfect to such evaluation. It can eliminate the related influence between evaluation indexes and reduce the workload of evaluation. The paper applied the principal component analysis to Baotou city and other 5 western resource-based cities so as to make a comprehensive evaluation about sustainable development ability. The results show that the sustainable development ability of Baotou city from2003 to 2012 is a fluctuated improving trend. And it ranks fourth in the selected western resource-based cities. The issue about the way to improve the sustainable development ability of resource-based cities is discussed in this paper.

Abstract: Shanxi Guang Village which located at the foot of Lv Liang Mountain was attracted much attention by its three-thousand-year of Guang Village ruins, the well protected Jin and Shang dynasty culture which experienced the change of Tang, Yuan, Ming dynasties, the ecological wisdom and so on. This article mainly bases on the historical investigation of historical villages which are located neat the Yellow River. It analyses the ecological culture orientation and ecological wisdom of the village from aspects of plans, buildings, and convictions; and then make the concept of ecological culture well-known and benefit to the construction of New Villages in the Yellow River basin

Abstract: The ideas and research methods about the relative carrying capacity of resources were used by the author in this paper. The relative carrying capacity of natural, economic resources and synthetic resources capacity of Xiangxi have been calculated, the evolution have been described and from 2001 to 2012, compared with the whole country and Hunan respectively. The research results indicated that Xiangxi relative economic resources capacity and relatively comprehensive resource capacity is always in overload condition from 2001 to 2004, Carrying capacity of natural resources as a reference area in Hunan, from 2005 to 2012 the carrying capacity of natural resources in a surplus state, and the amount of surplus rising. Land resources relative to the contribution of integrated resource carrying capacity is far greater than the contribution of economic resources.

Abstract: Resources and environment are the world's two biggest social problems, and are also the important factors that affect the sustainable development. In this case, studying the relations of population, economy, society, resources, and environment is of great significance for sustainable development and for solving the problem of resources and environment. This paper is on the basis of sustainable development and the theory of system, selects population, economy, society, resources and environment as the system elements to build the model of sustainable development, and discusses the social relationship and influence of population, economy, resources, and environment and puts forward constructive policies.
