Abstract: Engineering variation is of common and important in construction projects. This paper put forward to a simple method to evaluate the engineering variation of construction project:Based on the evaluation system of a project plan, by means of defining the ratio of variational index first, then figuring out the effect measure of the selected index and adjusting the weight of index, and finally calculating the expectation of the evaluation. This evaluation methodology could be adapted to most evaluation system of construction project. At last, the paper carriers out a case study to prove the practicability of the evaluation methodology.

Abstract: Aimed to the social risk appraise of construction project, the qualitative and quantitative analysis, as well as the theory and empirical research methodologies are used in this paper, and taking a Demolition and Relocation Project of Guangzhou as the Study Case. Based on questionnaire investigation and depth interview to the samples of reference groups in this project, the potential social risk and the real appeals of the reference groups are described systematically and objectively in this paper. In the mean time, the SPSS software is used to analyses the statistical data. Finally, focused on above analysis, the relevant suggestions to prevent the social risk are proposed. Appraising conclusion shows that most sensitive people, within the scope of demolition, agree on the quasi decision-making matters on the construction project, and at least, they are not opposed to it. However, there are several practical issues to which we need to pay close attentions and to require proper solutions. Before these issues are solved, suspending the demolition is suggested.

Abstract: There existing too narrow coverage of stakeholders and frequent changes of interest demands that are involved in satisfaction degree evaluation of construction project, to explore effective measures for dividing and balancing the satisfaction degree of target groups becomes the basis for solving these problems. For researching integrated satisfaction degree evaluation in completion period of construction project, the paper introduces Group-AHP to calculate the weight of expert impact based on constructing integrated satisfaction degree evaluation system in completion period, and calculates the overall index score after the weighted mark based on BP neural network finally. Based on this, the requirements of objectivity and closing to practice of integrated satisfaction degree evaluation can be achieved.

Abstract: This thesis has made a systematic study on the sustainable development capability evaluation system of LIP from the five aspects of economy, ecology, society, technology and management. The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is also used to provide quantitative basis for decision-makers. In the end, Yan-shan conservancy which is being constructed is used to demonstrate the application.

Abstract: It is necessary that good symbiosis is established in order to make effective management to the construction project. The paper analyzed the character of coordination and management for multi-project. The coordination and management system of multi-project was studied by basic theory about coordination and management. The basic model has been established for coordination and management system. And the effective function mode has put forward. Through the function mode for coordination and management system, the activity of construction project is more standardization and system. And work efficiency and celerity would be improved. At the same time the various risks resulting in difficult coordination and management would be reduced. So it can be improve coordination and management level for construction projects. Moreover it can help to realize the project whole aim

Abstract: Quantitative evaluation of risk of operation crew performing within hazardous spaces is necessary for making safety decisions. Unfortunately, previous research is inadequate in evaluating the dynamic and fluctuating nature of operator’s exposure to hazards. Based on cycle-simulation methodology, this study proposes a two-cycle interaction simulation model. Using this model, the statistic distribution of hazardous exposure of construction crew can be explored with more statistic details. Moreover, the ratio of operation duration to cycle length is also an important factor that determines the statistic distribution of exposure time. Meanwhile, the exposure degree measured for of a low-level operation can better indicate the safety management requirement than that of a high-level activity. Consequently, better understanding of dynamic nature of exposure time may lead to improved safety management decisions.

Abstract: The management contracting mode is a new construction pattern of construction projects, and has been applied more and more widespread. To guarantee the project implemented smoothly, the Management Contractor (MC) needs to supervise the construction contractor's opportunism behavior. The behavior was analyzed between the MC and the Construction Contractor (CC) by using the gaming model to discover how their different behaviors influenced the final results. The purpose is to give some advice for the MC.

Abstract: This paper analyses the construction safety climate awareness gap between management and labor. We first review recent developments in construction hazards in Taiwan, integrating factors taken from safety climate-related studies. We then develop five measurement dimensions and devise a 32 question “Construction Staff Safety Climate Awareness survey. Results are subjected to SPSS17.0 to statistical analysis to explore the awareness gap for safety climate among construction personnel. Research results show that management is more aware than labor of safety climate issues, with the smallest awareness gap occurring in the “assist fellow peers” dimension, and the largest occurring in “risk decision-making”. Pearson analysis showed no significant correlation between risk decision-making and assist fellow peers behavior. Survey results show positive correlations among the measurement dimensions (good safety attitude, safety training and policy, risk decision-making, safety commitment and communication, and assist fellow peers). Tukey comparison of results shows an awareness gap between management and labor in terms of worksite safety, with a particularly large gap regarding risk decision-making. Risk decision-making, training and policies, commitment and communications are all positively correlated. This will allow for the strengthening of safety training and the development of a code of practice by which the overall safety climate can be effectively enhanced, thus reducing the accident rate.

Abstract: Public Private Partnerships (PPP) is widely applied in worldwide infrastructure development. The performance of the PPP project company should be under monitoring of the public sector to ensure that the reasonable interests of the public users are not sacrificed. In this regard, a key issue is the qualitative and quantitative measurement of the services provided by the project company. This paper introduces the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) based excellence model, which has been popularly used in enterprise management, into the PPP projects. Firstly, a comprehensive literature review is conducted, that, an EFQM Model is introduced and its advantages for PPP projects are analyzed. Then, the performance evaluation criteria are established and the performance indicators are identified for PPP projects based on literature review. Finally, a performance evaluation model for PPP projects in general is formulated based on the EFQM model.

Abstract: Project’s duration - expense exchange question focus on how to optimize the goals by least expenses or by shortest duration limit for a project, and did not consider the influence of such optimization and incentive mechanisms for receipts and quality. This article first proposed the theory of generalized cost, brings the duration, the cost and the quality into line with the cost category, and constructed integrated optimization model of Duration, cost and quality based on the theory, with practical examples, the theory is proved feasibility, scientific and economic.
