Abstract: “Living museum” is a theory and method in the protection and renewal of historical districts. It is based on the eco-museum theory and the characteristics of China. It can also be seen as a new museum mode. “Living museum” emphasizes three characteristics, which include: the authenticity protection of spatial element in the traditional architecture culture, identity and inheritance of traditional architecture culture, community participation and interaction with visitors. The essence of “Living museum” is community renewal. Following the principle of people-oriented, the theory pays attention to retain the traditional culture of architecture development trends and will make the traditional architectural protection a constantly updated and developing process.

Abstract: Through the design of the Laolongkou distillery Sustainable protection research, The author get the method about latent economic benefits in excavation culture, provides a new road for other local historical heritage constructive protection development. Firstly, the Distillery heritage cannot be changed and want to bring economic value. This creates a contradiction, and how to make living environment and Distillery production environment not contradiction. The authors adopt a "platform" idea. Secondly, sustainable development of distillery culture characteristics. There are a lot of cultural relics and intangible cultural heritage, use these elements improve tourism environment level and quality, show distillery industrial heritage characteristic, obtain industrial tourism economic and cultural benefits.

Abstract: Funeral Parlor is a carrier of the cultural heritage. This kind of architect can be sustainably promoted only after the mixture of literature context and architectural function together with the understanding of the deeper connotation of the “funeral and interment culture”. This article tries to investigate the heritage within the funeral buildings through the analysis of the design plan of the Daye funeral parlor.

Abstract: In today’s China, with the development of economy, the urban construction is also very rapid. However, the high speed development has also created many problems. For example, the urban public building layout is unreasonable, the quality of public building is not high. Therefore, many public buildings will be a state of being removed. In order to lengthen the building’s life, Renovation of the building became the topic which the society pays attention together. The renovation of the building has many ways, Transform the building’s facade can change effectively the building’s image and the cost is low. Therefore this article sets up urban public building’s facade transformation to take the research aim, and put the focus to the architectural style.

Abstract: Through the narrative express of the stories on how to solve structural problems, the concept of structure can be more easily analyzed. In the story Pagoda in the Fantian Temple written by Shen Kuo, a famous scholar in Northern Song Dynasty China, ancient Chinese analyzed the stability of structure by analogy. That kind of analogy often led to uncertainty if without the complementary validity of fact. Shen Kuo laid out an excellent scientific reasoning on the stability of structure in the text narrating.

Abstract: It is the human intelligent enlightenments, particularly presented by that of Moshe Safdie that has constructed the world’s groundbreaking architectural work--Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. The designer’s appropriate interpretation of cultural context of this architecture has endowed it with vitality and energy, making it the paradigm of soul dwelling and spiritual home of human beings. It ushers a door for modern architectures to be built with rich flavor of spirituality.

Abstract: The protection for the ancient villages which located in the Huanghe Valley has its special value. In the recent practice, there are mainly 5 methods rising, key point protection, partial protection, comprehensive protection, the distribution for the entire protection, and block courtyard-style. This paper mainly illustrates five ways of the ancient village protection, analyzes the obstacles in the protecting process, and further improve ideas.

Abstract: Fort defense was always being with external or internal strife in ancient China. According to the different characters and functions, the forts in military defense system are classified as five types: the administrative and military central fort, common garrison fort, fort of strategic pass, fort for transmitting information, and farming fort for military supplies. And the fort network system structure for military defense and the basic construction characters of fort are summarized. It is clarified that all kinds of defensive nodes set by forts formed ordered depth through the interconnection in different levels, and played an important role in the history of national military defense system.

Abstract: Along with the social and economic development, architectural design of modern office buildings has undergone huge changes in various perspectives, posing exacting requirements to designers. This article introduces the design philosophies of modern office buildings from architectural image, function design and interior space, proposing four development trends facing future office building design, diversification, being people-oriented, low carbon emission and energy saving, intellectualization.
