Abstract: The purpose of this study is to advance an objective evaluation system to describe the acoustic characteristics of Chinese vowels in subjects who had undergone a total laryngectomy and compare the results with those obtained in a control group of subjects who spoke normally. Compared to subjective evaluation system, the new evaluation system would be of important guiding significance for the practice of clinical vocal rehabilitation.

Abstract: Dithering particle swarm optimization (DPSO) algorithm is introduced into adaptive polarization stabilization in a 40 Gb/s optical communication system. The DPSO algorithm has the merits of rapid convergence to the global optimum, without being trapped in local sub-optima, and good robustness to noise. How to implement DPSO as a component of a control algorithm in adaptive polarization stabilization is described. Performance comparisons between PSO and DPSO were carried out theoretically and experimentally. It is demonstrated that fast changes of SOP can be successfully tracked using the DPSO algorithm.

Abstract: Although EMD can implement adaptive separation between leak signal and strong background noise, the IMFs used for leak signal reconstruction always change with the varying frequency components. In this paper, an evaluation criteria for leak signal is defined and a method based on the analysis result of EMD for adaptive reconstruction is presented. The results of signal reconstruction and identifying leak location based on field test show this method is feasible and reliable.

Abstract: TiO2 and CuZSM-5 were mixed together as photocatalyst in dealing with photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange. Adsorption and photocatalytic degradation properties of the CuZSM-5 zeolite and mixture of TiO2 and CuZSM-5 were investigated. The CuZSM-5 zeolite has no photocatalytic activity under the experimental conditions. Methyl orange decoloration rate was 65.4%, which was 9.60% higher than that without using CuZSM-5, when TiO2 and CuZSM-5 were at the optimum ratio of 3.13:1. An optimum TiO2 concentration of 250 mg/l occurred when using pure TiO2. However, when using TiO2-CuZSM-5 mixture, the decoloration rate continuously increased with increasing photocatalyst concentration. After 70 min of irradiation, 98.4% of the initial methyl orange decoloration was found using TiO2-CuZSM-5 mixture at TiO2 concentration of 250 mg/l.

Abstract: PEG1000 was used as a template to prepare porous TiO2 photocatalyst through sol-gel process. The amount of PEG1000 and calcination temperature and time were studied with respect to porous TiO2 activity. At the optimum adding amount of PEG1000, 30.0% of the initial methyl orange was degraded. Methyl orange adsorption on the porous TiO2 maintained less than 2% during the whole template content range. During the calcination temperature range from 400 oC to 600 oC and time range from 2 h to 5 h, the optimum degradation activity appeared to the sample calcinated at 500 oC for 4 h. Adsorption of the materials had no variation at different calcination temperatures and times, and was quite weak compared with degradation efficiencies. 96.2% of the initial methyl orange was degraded after 100 min of irradiation.

Abstract: The internal structure of the road safety system is extremely complex and it is affected by a lot of factors, each factor weights can not be fully established. In this article, we expressed the attribute value with a fuzzy interval number, the comprehensive appraise to the impact of traffic safety with emphasis on "people", "car" "road" in the "road". First of all, establishing evaluation index system, and form the judging matrix by AHP; then, it can be acquired a method of traffic safety evaluation by using the comprehensive evaluation model of the fuzzy interval.

Abstract: A promoter plays an important role in the transcription of DNA sequences; its recognition is very significant. This paper concerns about the problem of extracting information from a given DNA region and to make predictions whether it contains a promoter. We incorporate three types of information to access the significance of a promoter, information on content and information on structure, and then these information are used in a trained nonlinear classifier. The results show that our method performs well and achieve 13.4% average error rate on positive and negative data from non-coding regions and 17.0% average error rate on positive and negative data from coding regions.

Abstract: A definition about edge-matrix is given. Two algorithms for solving perfect matching are obtained. Algorithms A is that perfect matching is determined by using edge coloring of edge-matrix ; Algorithm B is that perfect matching is determined by partitioning edge-matrix into sub matrix and also by solving perfect matching of a complete graph .The procedure of constructing round-robin tournament by using algorithm A and round-robin tournament by using algorithm B.

Abstract: An adaptive variational partial differential equation (PDE) based aproach for restoration of gray level images degraded by a known shift-invariant blur function and additive noise is presented. The restoration problem of a degraded image is solved by minimizing this model, and this minimizing problem is realized by using Hopfield neural network. In the proposed image restoration model, an adaptive regularization parameter is developed instead of the constant regularization parameter used in previous PDE model. The value of the adaptive regularization parameter changes according to different regions of the image to remove noises and preserve edge better. Several computer simulation results show that the image restoration results of the proposed model both look better and have better SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) than the previous variational PDE based model.

Abstract: In the process of the enterprise's production, safety is the key concerned matter. Hydroelectric project construction is the industry with frequent accidents; these accidents have great influences to the society, so the effective measures are taken to prevent accidents and thus change the management style from “post processing” to “predictive control”. The accidents data of objects striking of Xiluodu projects in the year of 2004 to 2006 are analyzed, all the factors causing the accidents are determined, and the factors are analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively analyzes with Bayesian network method, finally the safety management program is determined to guide the safety operations. The bad condition of geological environment has the greatest posterior probability; therefore, it is a sensitive factor that might cause the objects striking accidents. More attention should be paid to the geological environment when preventing accidents.
