Abstract: St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University - Russian and world leader in higher engineering education. In 2010 he received the status of a national research university. In 2013, the Polytechnical University among the 15 universities of Russia, who won the competitive selection for the right to obtain a grant of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia in order to increase their competitiveness among the world's leading research and education centers. Thanks to the activities of the Program “5-100-2020” St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University in 2020 should enter the top 100 QS World University Rankings.The article discusses one of the ranking criteria QS - the proportion of foreign students - on the basis of activities of the Program “5-100-2020” and activities Civil Engineering Institute of Polytechnical University on attracting foreign students. Considered activities such as increasing the number of international educational programs in English, participation Civil Engineering Institute in international educational exhibitions, partnerships with universities and abroad, primarily belonging to the rating of universities QS 500.

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a novel teaching paradigm called "MOOCs + flipped classroom" and discuss the adoption of information technology to support this teaching paradigm. The core ideas, the technical framework, the key supporting technologies and the advantages of this paradigm are introduced. The practice shows the validity of this emerging teaching paradigm.

Abstract: Construction refers to a number of industrial processes with increased risk. Every year on the construction objects there are many accidents. Big amount of accidents have some reasons, including the organizational and related to the lack of knowledge in the field of safety. The article discusses the relevance and options for education in the field of security in the construction. Would be particularly useful experience of foreign construction companies and training centers in construction safety area.

Abstract: The article is devoted to Academy of Construction for University Applicants distance course. The course is posted on university Distance Learning Portal (http://dl.spbstu.ru) based on Moodle. The course is a tool of university online marketing. The main benefits for students trained in this course are analyzed.
