Abstract: It is the strategic choice of sustainable social development to develop low-carbon economy in Jiangxi province. The healthy and orderly development of low-carbon economy depends on the adjustment of industrial structure, energy structure and consumption structure. It also depends on the support of policies, regulations and low-carbon technologies. Some development strategies of low-carbon economy in Jiangxi province were put forward in this paper. The development strategies include adjusting and optimizing industrial structure for building a low-carbon industrial system; optimizing energy use structure to develop low-carbon clean energy; promoting recycling economy for the development of low-carbon economy; planning and constructing experimental area to carry out the pilot and demonstration of low-carbon economy; strengthening intercommunion and co-operation to develop low-carbon technologies; constructing low-carbon culture to guide low-carbon consumption; planting tree and forestation to enhance the carbon sequestration function; improving policies and regulations to support low-carbon economy development.

Abstract: To develop low-carbon tourism attraction is conducive to the transformation of tourism industry’s development mode. It can also help China to take the carbon-reducing responsibility in the world, reduce carbon emission and develop low-carbon economy and society. This paper takes Beijing Badachu Park as the case study to analyze the relationship between the development of low-carbon tourism attraction and the tourists’ low-carbon cognition. It shows that there’re two kinds of low-carbon cognition, one is “to know it” and the other is “to do it”. But the reality is there always has some inconformity between consciousness and behavior in low carbon tourism which is bad for the construction of tourism attractions. This article put forward some suggestions to solve this problem: “hardware” transformation, scientifically planning and management, to intervene tourists’ low carbon cognition through “attraction also community” ways, etc.

Abstract: Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from agro-ecosystem have been widely concerned as a hot issue. Tillage methods siGreenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from agro-ecosystem have been widely concerned as a hot issue. Tillage methods significantly affect GHG emissions in the farmland. This study was conducted on double cropping system of winter wheat and summer corn in North China with four treatments (conventional tillage CT, conventional tillage with straw retention CTS, no-tillage with straw retention NTS, rotary tillage with straw retention RTS). In order to study tillage effects on field GHG emissions, CO2, N2O and CH4 emissions fluxes were collected. Results showed that soils of each the treatment were net sources of CO2, but RTS and NTS consumed atmospheric CH4, while N2O emission exhibited high annual flux in all the treatments except RTS; soil moisture contents in NTS were maximum (19.3%) and significantly higher compared to the other treatments (at P<0.05 level); CO2 emission fluxes (g CO2 m-2 y-1) were generally in the order of CTS (6460.3) > CT (5568.4) > RTS (5421.2) > NTS (4200.1); integrated evaluation of field greenhouse effect indicated that it was mainly caused by CO2, with CH4 and N2O as subsidiary components; total greenhouse effect under different tillage treatments was followed NTS < RTS < CT < CTS in North China Plain.

Abstract: As environmental issues become more and more apparent, the energy, economy and environment system has become the academic focus. This paper established an energy, economy and environment comprehensive development evaluation system proceeding from quantity, structure and quality, selected the factor method to give the weight for indicators and calculate the development standard of subsystems. Finally, it used normal distribution membership function to measure the coordination degree of the 3E system during the China’s eleventh five-year plan. The research found that China's current 3E system is in intermediate coordination state, the contradiction between energy consumption and environmental protection is the biggest obstacle to the overall 3E coordination, the economy-environment coordination degree has been improved and the energy-economy system is in great state. And energy strategies, economic development policies and environmental policies need to be developed to keep the good development trend of the 3E system’s coordination degree.

Abstract: Energy consumption and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) of major Alternative vehicle fuels (AVFs) in Thailand are estimated and compared with conventional fuels by means of full Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). The tool utilized here is the Well-to-Wheels (WtW) module of own model covering the entire lifecycle including: raw materials cultivation (or feedstock collection); fuel production; transportation and distribution; and application in automobile engines (ICE and hybrid engine), compared with conventional petroleum-based gasoline and diesel pathways. The model is based on Thailand’s national conditions with Tsinghua-CA3EM model. Part of this model structure has been adjusted to Thailand specific situations. Therefore, a majority of the parameters have been modified with local Thailand data. Results showed that the all alternative vehicle fuels can reduce energy consumption and GHG emissions compared to conventional fuels. Hybrid ICE engine to reduce energy consumption and GHG emissions when compared to the ICE engine. Biofuels-ICE engine, especially bioethanol from molasses, had the highest reduce energy consumption and GHG emissions. LPG- Hybrid ICE engine had the highest reduce energy consumption.

Abstract: Due to the fast growth of energy consumption in modern industry especially the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) society, many attentions are focused on better energy efficient solutions. In this paper, we provide an implementation perspective survey on employed optical network technologies’ power consumption features. We investigate major techniques of current optical network and corresponding energy consumptions. Some promising techniques are proposed including burst switching, multiple granularity traffic grooming, unified control plane and Green PON to achieve energy efficiency.

Abstract: The United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen brought us the attention to "low-carbon, energy saving". For economic sustainable economic development, energy conservation and environmental protection must be an important strategic move. Sports as a healthy way of life should respond positively to low-carbon energy fitness concept, promote energy-saving environmental protection under the fitness movement, advocate scientific fitness, and create a rich atmosphere in the sports and fitness aspects of environmental protection. Sports should make a meaningful contribution to energy conservation, carbon emission reduction and environment protection.

Abstract: To carry out the worldwide environmental protection, ecocritics try to popularize the campaign by examining how current environmental issues are represented in literary works. With ecocirticism as the theoretical support, this paper is to interpret Ernest Hemingway’s Green Hills of Africa, analyze the relationship between characters and nature, and reveal his attitude towards the natural world, by applying the combination of discourse analysis and documentary analysis. While hunting, Hemingway shows concern for environmental degradation, sticks to the hunting principle all the time, and is good at turning trash to treasure. It is not hard to conclude that Ernest Hemingway has developed the awareness of sustainable development. As a distinguished writer, Hemingway is of great importance to modern sustainable development in advocating, popularizing, and fulfilling this concept.

Abstract: With the continuous development of economy and changing of the environment, Green Production aiming at lowering the environment pollution and reducing resource consumption is paid more and more attention by all countries. How to improve the energy-efficient production for container terminal and obey the conception of Green Production is becoming the new oriental of research. Firstly, a hierarchy and evaluation factors of energy-efficient production for container terminal are developed. Furthermore, fuzzy AHP is then employed to determine the weight of all indices, evaluation vectors, evaluation matrix and evaluation value. Finally, computational cases are applied to verify the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed evaluation model.
