Abstract: Analyzing the energy-saving-project of a company with two-stage evaluation method. Analyzing whether the energy-saving project can reduce the consumption of energy with exergy theory, and then evaluating how much money will be saved by the project. First, there must be energy resources saved, discussing the value of the saved coal mainly with the price index of coal. Second, the generation of carbon dioxide accompanies the consumption of coal. Many countries are going to or have implemented carbon taxes. The paper discusses the reduction of carbon taxes of the energy saving projects.

Abstract: This article interprets the implications of “low carbon city” from a sociological perspective, and thinks that low carbon city is not only to update the technical, administrative and development patterns, but also a social structural form. This means a low carbon city has to be realized by adapting the social structural form of a certain city to the development of a low carbon city through the integration of the city society system. This article discusses the key issues and difficulties facing China during the construction of “low carbon cities” are the conflict between the urgent need for economic growth and the realization of low carbon cities, greater sense of speculation of low carbon city than its practical sense, laying particular stress on practice while neglecting rational thinking, the absence of faith and the prevalence of materialism, technical and administrative path dependence, and the polarization of the social class structure. Finally, this article proposes the choice of approach to low carbon city in China, where the goal of “low carbon city” should be realized by focusing on the realization of the forms and relations of government/power, enterprises/market, citizens/society and ideology/culture in the city society system.

Abstract: Based on the statistics of the energy consumption and economic growth of the OECD countries and BRICs from the year 1986 to the year 2009, this paper applied Panel Data Econometrics Method to process and analyze those statistics and found that(1) in the long term, the energy consumption and economic growth of OECD countries and BRICs don’t maintain a long-standing equilibrium relationship.(2) in the short term, OECD countries have a one-direction causal relationship from their economic growth to energy consumption while the BRICs have just the opposite, a one-direction of causal relationship from energy consumption to economic growth. The research founding indicates that developed countries represented by OECD should strictly implement policies concerning energy saving and emission reduction and shoulder duties of providing fund and technological aid;the emerging industrialized countries represented by the BRICs should implement policies concerning energy saving and emission reduction phase by phase, step by step and also assume the reasonable task of saving energy and reducing carbon dioxid

Abstract: Distributed energy systems can play an essential role in providing energy with substantial environmental and other benefits. This paper presents a multi-objective optimization model for the planning of distributed energy systems, aiming at simultaneous minimization of the total annual cost and greenhouse gas emissions. The impact of carbon tax rates on the optimal configuration and performance of a distributed energy system is evaluated based on the optimization model. A review of international policies on carbon taxes is performed for estimation of future carbon tax rates in China. Results show that the potential carbon tax in the future may not have significant impacts on the optimal configuration of a distributed energy system.

Abstract: The idea of low carbon has found its way into tourism industry and caused revolution of tourism development mode. Therefore, the integrated management mode for low carbon scenic zones has become our new pursuit. Taking Taishan, the world material and cultural heritage, for example and based on investigating the status quo of low carbon tourism of Taishan scenic zone, this paper analyzes the problems and their causes with the integrated management mode for scenic zones and then forwards two new ways, that is, forming an industry league to develop exhibition tourism in scenic zones and building integrated management modes for Taishan low carbon scenic zone of low carbon tourism industry chain within scenic zones, thus providing idea and reference for the low carbon tourism development of Taishan scenic zone, and even other areas across China.

Abstract: This paper firstly gives the understanding of financial subsidy, then introduces the experiences of low-carbon financial subsidy in the developed countries and the status of low-carbon financial subsidy in China, and last it puts forward the suggestion for low-carbon financial subsidy in China, such as the links and the direction of subsidy, a short-term policy instead of a long-term policy choice, the boundary of subsidy policy, and standards for the approval of new-energy projects.

Abstract: In modern society, “energy saving and emission reduction” has become a hot issue in scientific research nowadays. In this paper, the emission reduction of CO2 and adjustment scheme on energy consumption structure of the major industries are studied. We conclude that carbondioxide emission of every industry should be reduced. Among them, mining industry has to reduce up to 30.79%. From the adjustment scheme, it is clear that consumptions of electricity power should be controlled because of its low economic efficiency. And the energy consumption structure of transportation industry has higher energy consumption efficiency than other industries. What’s more, the energy consumption structure of water and electricity supply industry needs further adjustments.

Abstract: In the paper, on the basis of the comprehensive weight method, the total energy saving and emission reduction target is distributed to every region. Then the DEA model is adopted to evaluate the actual effect of the energy consumption and the emission reduction. Finally, the optimal scheme is put forward. Taking China as example to compare the efficiency of the program A, B and the program C, we get that program B is more suitable for China, and in more developed economical region, the task of energy saving and emission reduction is done better.

Abstract: Global climate change and resources and environmental problems have great impacts on the sustainable development of human beings. The development of low-carbon economy has become an important way for countries to cope with climate change and change the way of economic and social development. Under the background of low-carbon economy, low-carbon tourism has become the response of tourism industry to low-carbon economy. The low-carbon development of eco-tourism areas is the inevitable choice of the tourism industry to achieve sustainable development. Taking Qinghai Lake, the world-famous eco-tourism destination of plateau lakes as an example, this paper discusses the significance of the low-carbon development of eco-tourism areas. It analyzes the main problems of low-carbon development in the Qinghai Lake eco-tourism area from the aspects of tourism development and construction, operation and management and tourists’ behaviors respectively. The author holds that scientifically planning and constructing tourism areas, operating and managing them in an environmentally friendly way, strengthening the environmental education and management of tourists, as well as competing for policy support from the government are the main countermeasures for low-carbon development in the eco-tourism areas.

Abstract: Confucianism embraces the considerably extensive thoughts on eco-environmental protection. However, this article studies the thinking of ecological protection only based on the "reverence for life" of eco-ethics, “the proper use of natural resources”, the concept of ecological balance, “conformity with destiny” of the ecological view of practice, the concept of ecological harmony of men with nature and other aspects covered in Confucianism, in the hope that human beings can learn some rewarding viewpoints from Confucianism and accomplish their transformations and creations in the modern sense.
