Abstract: Resource economy sustainable development degree of Yulin, Shaanxi Province during Year 2000-2014 was estimated and pre-warned by building BP neural network early-warning model and applying the written Matlab7.1 calculation program and AHP method. The early-warning results indicated that, economy sustainable development tendency of Yulin, Shaanxi during Year 2000-2014 is under huge warning, serious warning, medium warning and light warning these four states, respectively; early-warning model based on BP neural network has strong simulation ability, which is more appropriate for non-linear system early-warning research of solving resource economy sustainable development.

Abstract: Energy industries have a high potential to contribute the Thai economy. In exploring operating activities, concept of data envelopment analysis (DEA) is led to appropriately consider technical efficiency. Since the whole process of firms can be separated into two sub-processes; production acquisition and profit earning, this research aims to assess the cause of an inefficiency for the 24 energy companies by using rational two-stage DEA. Cross section data was obtained from the stock exchange of Thailand in 2010. The empirical results showed that the average score 0.7592 of the production acquisition was higher than the average score 0.3376 of the profit earning, implying that the inefficiency for the whole process was caused by the second sub-process. In addition, BCG matrix provided beneficial strategies for a firm’s manager to improve a business performance in order to be the leader of energy industries.

Abstract: Taking Zhejiang province as an example, this paper conducted a comparative analysis on the current situation of the energy consumption structure from the vertical and horizontal using the descriptive statistical method. By calculating some indexes such as energy consumption per unit GDP, energy consumption elasticity coefficient, and so on, the study analyzes and evaluates the present situation, trend and influence factors of energy efficiency. Finally, it puts forward some policy suggestions about the optimization of energy consumption structure and energy efficiency.

Abstract: Taking Zhejiang Province as an example, this paper using statistical data of 1990-2009 makes a statistical analysis of energy consumption and an empirical research on the relationship between economic growth and energy consumption, energy efficiency by the way of metrology analysis. The result shows the relationship between economic growth and energy consumption, energy efficiency in Zhejiang Province is long balanced. There is a two-way causation between economic growth and energy consumption, but only a single causal relationship between economic growth and energy efficiency, namely, GDP grows by 3.4% when energy efficiency grows by 1%. Therefore, we give some advice on energy consumption in Zhejiang Province and the national economy sustainable development.

Energy Consumption Forecasting Using United Grey System–Bayesian Regularization Neural Network Model
Abstract: The energy consumption of the enterprise is subject to various factors. To solve the problem, a new grey-neural model is proposed which effectively combines the grey system and Bayesian-regularization neural network and avoids the disadvantages of each other. The case study indicates that the prediction method is not only reasonable in theory but also owns good application value in the energy consumption prediction. Meanwhile, results also exhibit that G-BRNN model has the automated regularization parameter selection capability and may ensure the excellent adaptability and robustness.

Abstract: Based on the Nagel-Schreckenberg model, an extended cellular automaton model is proposed to simulate the characteristics of the energy consumption in traffic flow with a slowdown section by considering the stochastic noise, the length and speed limit of the slowdown section. The simulation results show that the energy consumption is determined by the length Ls of the slowdown section as well as the speed limit Vs of the slowdown section. The smaller Vs and the larger Ls can effectively alleviate energy consumption. Through vehicle accidents and energy consumption analysis, an important conclusion is drawn that Vs =1 may be an optimum design to drive safely and reduce energy consumption from traffic control. Furthermore, the stochastic braking probability P has also an important effect on energy consumption.

Abstract: Beijing is the second largest energy consumption city in China, so it is necessary of analyzing its energy consumption situation. The energy flow of Beijing’s energy consumption was analyzed by Energy Balance Sheet (EBS), which is an effective tool for researching energy economy and energy sustainable development. Different stages of energy flow in the process of Beijing’s energy utilization were analyzed by EBS, and the indicators including total energy consumption, comparison, structure, dynamic changes and energy intensity at all stages of energy flow were extracted. Further, the structure feature, change process, development trend of Beijing’s energy consumption was obtained, and the relationship between resources, economy, and energy was explained. Finally, some suggestions for the next focusing work on effective utilization of Beijing’s energy were proposed.

Abstract: Since the view that energy efficiency improvement would increase rather than reduce energy consumption, so-called rebound effect, was put forward and has been the focus that is encouraging a fierce debate within mainstream economics. This paper tries to introduce an improved estimation model by efficiency share decomposed from energy intensity, based on IPAT equation to estimate the rebound effect of three major regions in Guangdong, together with redistricting Guangdong applying hierarchical clustering analysis. The result shows the average rebound effect of low-intensity high-yield area, high-intensity low-yield area, and low-intensity low-yield area, is 17.91%, 10.82% and 8.10%, correspondingly. While the empirical study provides support of existence of rebound effect, it does suggest we should not only rely on improving energy efficiency, but also using market instruments such as resources taxes, to reinforce the energy savings.

Abstract: In order to explore the effect of macroeconomic policies on mine safety, selecting data of 36 economic and social indicators and occupational safety indicators in mining industry in recent 15 years. Then, based on the analysis of the traditional growth rate, processing dimensionless and benchmark correlation of data, the Average weights rank of economic and social indicators relative to the mining safety could finally be got. The advantage of gradient analysis is dropping the dimension interference of data, and using three progressive connective gradients to get the relationship between occupational safety indexes and economic and social indicators. Results of the analysis were also provided some references for the improvement of macroeconomic policy.

Abstract: Facing the trend of energy crisis in the future, energy saving must start from aspects of the design. In China, the railway traction energy consumption is more than 80 per cent of energy consumption in the railway industry as a whole. First of all, this paper presents the energy consumption calculation of a single train, and analyzes the impact of energy consumption on the type of locomotive selection, then calculates total energy consumption and costs under the conditions of different ruling grades and route alternatives based on the life cycle of railway construction projects, which provides a scientific basis to determine the ruling grade and route alternatives. Finally, it illustrates an analysis of processes and methods of calculation through the Hainan West Ring Railway case.
