Abstract: With expansion of enrollment scale, many universities make a large-scale expansion of their campus in recent years, which has caused a series of ecological problems, such as excessive occupation of land, destruction of local ecological environment. It is necessary to provide ecological level assessment and guidance for this eco-campus construction. Based upon the present related research at home and abroad and according to the basic principles of ecology, we have given a clear definition of ecological campus after considering the functional requirements for university campus at first, and then build an ecological campus evaluation index system in which the landscape ecology and the ecological footprint theory have been combined and clear the scoring method of each index. The index system includes five aspects: campus environmental quality, pollutant emissions, resource allocation and utilization, humanity landscape and greening, environmental awareness and environmental education. Furthermore, the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is applied to this system to obtain the relative combined weights of every index which has passed the combined verify of coherence. Then the multi-factor comprehensive evaluation method was adopted to calculate ecological level index of eco-campus. At the end of this paper the main campus of Jinan University has been taken as an example application analysis of the index system.

Abstract: Based on the published studies and the data from multiple-year consecutive observation of the Long Term Ecological Research Station affiliated to the Chinese Forest Ecosystem Research Network (CFERN), the ecosystem services of carbon fixation and oxygen release, water conservation, soil conservation and nutrient accumulation of the Changbai Mountain Natural Reserve (CMNR), PR China, from 1985 to 1997 were evaluated using the Specifications for Assessment of Forest Ecosystem Services in China (LY/T17212008) promulgated by State Forestry Administration of China. The results show that the loss of ecosystem service value in CMNR was 59.76 million dollar under the policy intervention. These ecosystem services show trade-off/synergistic relationship. Carbon fixation and oxygen release, water conservation and soil conservation decreased greatly, while nutrient accumulation slightly increased from 1985 to 1997. This research could provide a scientific basis for policy-making in sustainable development of natural reserves.

Abstract: This paper studies the environmental geological problems of Dashikou landslide. The author analyzed main land slidecausing factors and evaluated stability of landslide by use of Rosenbluth method. The assessment result is 0.98. The result indicated that the landslide was in extremely unstable stage. The author predicted hazardcausing economic losses and casualties to human beings. Finally some methods and suggestions in risk management were advanced in this paper. Keywords: landslide; hazard; risk; management; assessment

Abstract: Hengshui Lake National Nature Reserve is one of the most ecologically valuable freshwater wetlands in the northern plains of China. It provides crucial staging and wintering habitats for a large variety of endangered waterbirds. However, this unique wetland has suffered from serious habitat fragmentation and ecological function degradation caused by increased socioeconomic activities within and surrounding the Nature Reserve. With the aim of enhancing the Reserves ecological function while balancing conservation priorities and indispensable socioeconomic activities, the ecological risks resulting from each three scenario were evaluated. To conduct this research, we developed a systematic framework for ecological risk assessment, in which indices of biodiversity, ecological vulnerability and ecological risk were introduced and employed. Then, an ecological risk assessment was conducted for the scenarios and the pros and cons of each scenario were evaluated based on the applicability of a particular risk in each situation. The results of modeling and assessments provided the basis for adopting wetland restoration scenarios allowing for the development of practical suggestions for wetland restoration and habitat modification.

Abstract: The research is about the investigation of the effects of landfill stability with relation to the solid waste composition in landfill site located in Selangor, Malaysia. The stability of a landfill relies on the shear strength of its elements and their settlement behaviour. Most of the landfill is made up of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), so the overall stability of the landfill slopes is governed by the physical, chemical and mechanical properties of the MSW. The main objective of this research is to determine the relationship between solid waste composition and their mechanical properties in order to analyse the site stability. The workplan begin with the desk study and proceed with physical and chemical properties test followed by the implementation of details laboratory works for testing the mechanicals parameters. A landfill site has been selected and four samples location differred by age were chosen in order to have a clear view of the overall solid waste composition and the geotechnical condition of selected landfill site. Basic physical and chemical properties of MSW were carried out such as moisture content, specific gravity and organic content. In terms of mechanical properties; shear strength and settlement behaviour were investigated. At the end of this study, several salient points have been concluded with respected to the solid waste composition and the site stability analysis.

Abstract: Nowadays, sustainability is one of the main driving forces for worldwide economic growth especially in energy production. Conbustion of fuel such as natural gas for energy production not only produce electricity but also impacts to environment. In order to assess the environmental impacts of the natural gas power plant, study of life cycle assessment (LCA) has been carried out based on the data obtained from natural gas (NG) power plant in Johor, Malaysia. Data validation has been done by comparing the result with other assessment using the data available in the database. This paper presents the results of the LCA. From this study, it was found that there are insignificant differences in terms of the potential environmental impacts between the LCA study conducted using the data from the NG power with the assessment conducted using data from the database. Keywords Life cycle assessment, sustainability, energy, natural gas

Abstract: With the rapid development of economy and the improvement of human life, intensified the contradiction between human, environment and water.Residents in villages and towns in our province has water the consciousness of legal system and the present situation of water environment related local research data through to our province visits, interviews, and the data was analysed, the association between the ruralwater environment problems and the residents water law consciousness, and putting forward proposals and strengthen the residents waterconsciousness opinion, for reference reference.

Abstract: Drucker-Prager Creep Model is introduced, and the Viscoelasto-Plastic Model with Double Yield Surface is detailed deduced. Parameters of loess in China West are discussed in detail during construction of underground warehouse. Those two creep models are applied to pit excavation during construction of underground warehouse. The results calculated show that the displacements calculated according to Viscoelasto-Plastic Model with Double Yield Surface is bigger than those according to Drucker-Prager Creep Model. Those ways uesd may provide reference to engineering practice.

Abstract: Building occupants are important factor in giving information on indoor conditions such as comfort, productivity, building performance and occupants ́ health. Even that, being their appraisal mainly based on subjective judgments, it is difficult to set up a standard and objective method for this purpose. The present work aimed to describe, analyze and compare the most common tests on this topic, in order to highlight critical, failings and strengths.

Abstract: With analyzing the rural ecological environment protection status and pollution sources of Bengbu City, the problems in the rural environmental protection work will be pointed out, including the out-dated regulatory regime, poor implementation of environmental policy, low motivation of environmental protection and other major issues. With applying ecological planning thoughts, advice including village eco-positioning and ecological agriculture development for rural planning will be proposed. For the environmental protection measures, relative suggestions such as increasing the effective monitoring of rural environment; strengthening the infrastructure construction, promoting clean production efforts and innovating market-oriented means of propaganda will be put forward to achieve rural sustainable development.
