Abstract: The operation of ship especially Ro-Ro ferry contributes much to support connectivity among islands for a country like Indonesia which has categorized as archipelago country. The reliability of Ro-Ro ferry operation will impact to the movement of cargo as well as passenger and later it could cause larger impact on the economic sustainability of region involved. The reliability of Ro-Ro ferry operation could be determined by operation function such ferry. One important function is ship handling function which consists of the interaction among human, technical, environment, management and weather. As the consequence to perform the objective of ship handling, the hazards might appear. It could be remarked that ferry accidents often occur during their service e.g. collision, grounding, sinking and contact. Such accident may be as part of the result of ship handling difficulty as part of ship handling function. Therefore, decision tool model based on the ship handling difficulty need to be developed. The first aim of this paper is to present the proposed ship handling model through the combination of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Fuzzy Inference System (FIS). The second aim is to perform a simulation to compare the ship handling difficulty level for Ro-Ro ferry at several straits in Indonesia. The result of this research might be used by ship masters, shipping companies and port authorities to develop strategies in overcome the hazard of Ro-Ro ferries so the reliability of ferry operation could be maintained.

Abstract: The construction of Xiangzhong international logistics park is a logistics infrastructure project of large investment and long payback period. Only takes a reasonable developing and financing model can we implement the construction plans. Analysis on the basis of the developing mode and experience of domestic and foreign logistics park, we find it that the comprehensive developing model is the best choice according to the specific conditions and situation about the region of Xiangzhong international logistics park. In order to ensure the found sources of the development of the logistics park, we suppose two possible options on the financing model of the huge founds for the park construction that is financing by formatting a state-owned assets investment and management company and financing by setting up a joint stock company.

Abstract: Taking the third and the fourth shiplock of the Changzhou Hydro-junction as an example, it analyses the variation of downstream water level and its influenced factors. It adopts a plane 2D mathematical model for total sand to simulate riverbed deformation and transferring law about water level drop from Jieshou to upstream. It estimates water level drop which caused by riverbed scouring and channel regulation engineering in the downstream of the Changzhou Hydro-junction. The lowest navigable water level is obtained. It could provide some technical support for design and new idea for studying similar problems.

Abstract: In view of uncertainty of traffic demand by vehicle types during the concession period, the toll charges of these BOT roads should be time-dependent and varied for different vehicle types by time of the concession period so as to maximize the system performance.It can be formulated as a bi-level programming problem. At the upper level, the objective is to maximize the social surplus combining of consumer surplus and the investor’s net profit. With taking account the demand elasticity in respect to the toll variability and incorporating the demand uncertainty into the revenue-cost constraint, the lower level is a multi-class reliability-based stochastic user equilibrium model. A genetic solution algorithm is adopted for solving the bi-level programming problem. A numerical example is presented to illustrate the applications of the proposed model and solution algorithm and some conclusions are drawn.

Abstract: The Driver Feedback Sign (DFS) has been widely used abroad to reduce the vehicle speed to improve traffic safety level, but it only be used on a few of freeways and urban expressways in China, and there have no research on its application effect. In order to popularization and application the DFS in China, the paper analyzed the DFS application situation at home and broad by document retrieval, comparatively analyzed implement effect before and after installing DFS on Badaling freeway by vehicle speed survey and questionnaires survey. At last, the paper comprehensively analyzed the applicability of DFS on freeway in China and proposed the installing requirement and technical requirement.

Abstract: With the rapid development of Telematics and the increasing demand of drivers on vehicles, vehicle Telematics witnesses the great progress around the world. In order to improve the traffic conditions, some countries, especially in the North America, Europe, have carried out relevant projects of vehicle Telematics, such as OnStar, eCall, G-Book, inkaNet. The paper presents the concept and current development of Telematics home and aboard; then gives detailed analysis on and comprehensive comparison among the four Telematics systems mentioned above; proposes the three major problems (speech recognition, charging standards and service chain) to be solved in China based on the analysis on the application of Telematics abroad; finally reveals the prospective of Telematics faced in China.

Abstract: In order to alleviate traffic load during large-scale activities held in cities, the concepts of traffic planning is applied in this paper. To forecast traffic demand of large-scale activities, the traditional four-stage method is imposed. Traffic forecasting model is set up in simulation tool TransCAD, and then traffic loads are gained in road around large-scale activities. Based on the result of simulate, appropriate measures are taken and re-assignment is implemented. By comparing simulation results between before and after the implementation of traffic control measures, the impact of large-scale activities to the road network and effectiveness of control measures are verified in the paper.

Abstract: Based on the detailed analysis of the characteristics of urban rail traffic planning,and with analyzing city current situation of Hohhot,the necessity and sufficiency of the future network of urban rail transit in Hohhot are firstly analyzed .Then,according to the economic and social development goals of Hohhot,city scale and the present traffic situation as well as the city traffic construction planning and urban population forward distribution, the future sort of the project construction here is discussed. Finally,from the perspective of view of the economical society, some suggestions are put forward on integrated planning of urban rail transit network—— railway in order to enrich the theories and the methodology of the urban mass transit network planning.

Abstract: In rebuilding and extension of railway, many inter-station block cables are replaced with fibers, but the previous 64 semiautomatic blocks cannot be connected. In this research ARM's 32-bit MCU with Cortex-M3 core is used to build a failsafe software-hardware integrated platform, replacing block cables with fiber channel to achieve transmission of block instruction and enhancing reliability by reducing communication links in the system. The system provides complete functions and powerful self-adaption in its compact size to meet the actual needs for engineering.

Abstract: With the rapid development of the economy, most of our cities have entered a period of rapid development, urban traffic congestion and other problems have become increasingly prominent. In view of the above situation, we specially analyze domestic and international urban transportation development strategy and the formation of traffic pattern; explore the rule of urban transportation development strategy; comprehensively compare and analyze the advanced experience of domestic and international transportation development strategy; sum up urban transportation development strategy transition mode, the future developing trend and some macro traffic control strategy. It indicates the direction of alleviating urban traffic congestion and promotes the development of modern cities sound and rapid.
