Abstract: Development of renewable energy and its associated basic theory and technology application is gradually becoming a global concernd hot issue. Tidal energy, positioned as one of the renewable energy, is named most promising new green energy with hydropower and wind power. Four typical exploitation approaches, including classical tidal power station, tidal current extraction, usage of natural tidal level range between a bay and the latest Dynamic Tidal Power(DTP), for tidal power are reviewed here. Both their basic concepts and application status are addressed, especially for the new concept of DTP. Some comparisons and summary of these tidal energy utilization are present in the conclusions part.

Abstract: The electricity demands of the buildings in tropical island cities for cooling present an increasing trend with the augment of the ratio of widow to wall and improvement in the quality of life. The shortage of shading is considered to be one primary reason for the higher energy consumption in buildings. This paper investigated the application potential of shading in several cities of Hainan province using DOE-2 software. It is found that the radiation heat gains of the west window may be slightly higher than other orientations, while the energy conserved by shading will be twice of others. Meanwhile, flexible shading is suggested for cities where sun-shine is favorable in the winter.

Abstract: In the paper, the wind power prediction is devided into medium-term forecasts and short-term forecasts. For medium-term forecasts, we use the weighted moving average method and BP neural network forecasting model, while for short-term forecasts, the ARMA model and combination forecasting model based on the maximum entropy principle are used. The application example shows that the weighted moving average method is easy and can precisely obtain the fluctuation trend of the wind power, while the accuracy rate of the BP neural network forecasting model is 91.23%, which is better than the former. The predictive results of the ARMA model are similar with actual trends and its accuracy rate is 88.98%. The combination model integrates the advantages of the BP neural network and ARMA model, and its accuracy rate is up to 92.58%.

Abstract: EPS thermal insulation system is one of the wider applications of exterior insulation system in the area of North China. In engineering applications, it is extremely important to improve the thermal insulation engineering quality to familiar with the structure principle, strengthen strict re-inspection of the material properties , standardized operation and fine construction, but also conducive to ensure its energy-saving effect and durability.

Abstract: Recent years, China's government looks real estate as the main driving force to promote the economic growth. However, due to the using construction materials have such characteristics as non-renewable and not saving, the environment bear severe load. The article analysis a specific of typical residential construction, drawing their material existing problems and proposing the introduction of the concept of green housing, which can crack the problems.

Abstract: An surface water heat pump (SWHP) system and some solar domestic hot water (SDHW) systems were constructed in a building stock located in Xiangtan for the purpose of energy saving and environmental improvement. This study aims to evaluate the energy and exergy efficiencies of renewable energy utilization based on energy and exergy analysis. We found the energy and exergy efficiencies of the SWHP system in heating mode to be 395% and 17.78%, respectively. The energy and exergy efficiencies for the SDHW systems were found to be 34.96% and 17.5%, respectively. Some measures for the exergy efficiency improvement are discussed in this paper.

Abstract: The work is to select biocompatible ionic liquid (IL) toward in situ saccharification of cellulose and investigating the effect of enzymatic saccharification with sodium alginate immobilized cellulase. The [Mmi [DM was selected for the ionic liquid treatment improved the yield of reducing sugars and the hydrolyzates could be efficiently fermented to ethanol. The yield of reducing sugar is 89.54% for 48h. In the in situ saccharification process, the yield of sugars were 84.52% and 86.72% with immobilized cellulase and free cellulase saccharification for 48h. Then the hydrolyzates could be fermented to ethanol with Candida shehatae. The yield of ethanol was 0.42g/g glucose within 24h.

Abstract: Currently, continuous synthesis of biodiesel has been widely studied due to a series of problems imposed by biphasic reaction and thermodynamic, as well as to reduce production costs. In this work, transesterification of cottonseed oil to biodiesel was carried out in a microtube reactor with a micromixer. The effects of molar ratio of ethanol to cottonseed oil, reaction temperature and residence time had been experimentally discussed. The optimal result was obtained under the conditions of oil-to-ethanol molar ratio of 1:16, a residence time of 7min, and a temperature of 70°C.

Abstract: This paper presents a studyon the integrated design of solar hot-water systems in high-rise residential buildings for the hot-summer and warm-winterclimate. The design process was described in detail through a case study in which the study target is a high-rise apartment being built in a southern city (Guilin) of China. This paper also describes how to select an appropriate solar hot-water system andauxiliary heating system based on the analysis of the local climate. Suggestions for the integrated design in high-rise residentialbuildings were discussed from analysis results.
