Abstract: This article takes Mosuo's Muleng house (well structured wooden buildings) of Yongning which located at Ninglang County, Yunnan Province as an example to analyze the relationship between national tradition housing and regional natural environment. The analysis explores the relationship between the national architectures and living environment in the eyes of Mosuo to dig their thinking and logical way in the process of constructing Muleng house and the usage of natural architecture materials.

Abstract: The perfect building form coefficient (I call it “C”) as I mean, if we stand still (I mean thatwe still need rectangle space), is the quotient equal to the cylinder volume of a building divided by thebuilding’s surface. So if we regard the building envelope material is same, the best form is a cylinderform from the point of the ecological view. According to the Chinese architectural regulation Codefor fire protection design of tall building GB50045-95 (Version 2005), the maximum unit area withone unit exit in a tall residence is approximately 1256 m2 with a circle contour. As we make 3formulas: maximum C = πr2h / (2πr2 + 2πrh) = r/4 = h/4 , we can include that the residence maximumheight according to the perfect building form coefficient is 20 m, the residence form will be a cylinderand the cylinder’s radius is 20 m. But as a tall residence which is taller than 24m according to theChinese fire-protection regulation clauses, the building’s form can be a cluster of several cylindervolumes and each height is 20 m.

Abstract: Recently, to concentrate superior education resources, many ultra-large-scale secondary schools are established around constantly, but in the process of construction and operation, many problems are exposed, due to the lack of design standards and experiences. At the same time, how to adapt to the concept of quality education and quality education method is the great challenge of the ultra-large-scale secondary architectural design in this stage. In the planning of XIFEI NO.1 high school, according to school development trends and learning from the advanced foreign countries, with systematic design methods and design concept of "schools within a school, resource sharing and walking system", the rational design of functional configuration and spatial organization for school buildings has been accomplished. In this plan, the core of the school is established with the multifunctional library and resource center, the function modules are established with the grade school districts to build the multi-level space for teaching, communicating and working. This is a positive exploration of the ultra-large boarding school planning and architectural design.
