Abstract: In recent years, with the vigorous development of tourism industry in Mount Lu, due to the lack of protection on Mount Lu historical architecture, and the lack of planning and control, chaos, disorderly change and arbitrary disassembly often take place, the number of modern buildings have dropped sharply, which is mainly due to severe damage. In this paper, the author proposes the strategies of strict protection and sustainable use from the perspectives of cognitive enhancement and deepening experience, based on the problems existing in the use and protection of modern buildings in Mount Lu. The key point of Mount Lu tourism development is protection, effective protection must be combined with reasonable utilization to realize the goals of "maintaining current conditions and regeneration".

Abstract: With the development of urban economy and the transition of the traditional industrial structure, Xi’an has witnessed a large-scale demolition and abandonment of industrial buildings in urban renewal during last 30 years. The paper presented the historical background of industrial buildings of Xi’an in the First Five-year Plan Period, and analyzed the value of industrial buildings from the perspectives of historical, social, architectural and technological aspects accordingly. Therefore, it confirms the heritage values of the industrial buildings of Xi’an on the whole and presents they should be protected.

Abstract: In its conservation and restoration of modern architecture in Tai’an Road historical and cultural block, according to the conservation status and damage characteristics of the historic materials in different parts, the paper analyzes its causes and deterioration mechanism, and employs restoration techniques based on eliminating the mechanism that drives damage of historic materials. In addition, it tracks and assesses the quantitative nodes of remediation technologies and optimizes restoration technology and strategy.

Abstract: This paper expounds the urban design logic in architectural design, introduced the related analytic methods of urban design. In the end the author's introduced the practice cases which the analytic methods were applied in architecture creation. These cases show how the analytic methods are used to deal with architectural design problems, so that the building design and urban environment is harmonious and creative. These methods also make urban building generation and evaluation more rational, more scientific.
