Abstract: This article describes the virtual reality technology, distance education in the virtual reality environment and applications of distance education based on virtual reality technology in power system teaching and power production. Abstract: In the report of Eighteenth CPC National Congress, new requirements are raised to universities and colleges, which is to promote the connotative development of higher education, To achieve this aim in stead of scale expansion, universities and colleges have to reform the traditional personnel training mode used previously. Therefore, the researchers are trying to explore a new talent cultivating mood in order to meet the need of social development for the professional talents in electrical engineering and automation major.
