Abstract: In this study, the main objective is to predict buildings heating and cooling energy consumption benefitting from 18 building envelope performance parameters by using artificial neural network. A backpropagation neural network has been preferred and the data have been presented to network by being normalized. 7 Cases application study was carried out with conventional methods. The building energy simulation software DeST was used for the calculations of energy consumption and ANN toolbox of MATLAB was used for predictions. As a conclusion, when the calculated values compared with the outputs of the network, it is proven that ANN gives satisfactory results successful prediction rate of over 97% and will be helpful for designers in designing period of buildings.

Abstract: An improved progressive mesh simplification algorithm for 3D real-time level of detail rendering of shearer based on half-collapse was proposed, which has been successfully applied in the rendering of shearer and produced a good result. Virtools with its secondary development technology SDK (Software Development Kit) was applied to establishing a 3DVR(Three Dimensional Virtual Reality) digital information platform for shearer based on real-time archiving of important working parameters. By using the real-time data provided by the remote control and monitoring system for shearer, the virtual 3D model was driven to reappearance the working state and changing trend of the real one instantly. Preliminary experiments carried out in Xi’an Coal Mine Machinery Factory show that the 3DVR Digital Platform can be integrated with the remote control system for shearer well. The ability to real-time display of shearer’s working state is better than that in traditional ways, for the information is displayed in the form of data and curve in traditional control and monitoring system for shearer, which is unrealistic to the operator and unsuitable for remote control and monitoring.

Abstract: This article focuses on improving PDF (Pseudo Derivative Feedback) controller and employing it in electro-hydraulic position servo system of pump-controlled cylinder. Based on PDF theory, the derivative controller has been improved according to zero-placement theory. System’s stability has been analyzed. Moreover, the improved PDF is compared to 1DF PID and traditional PDF through simulation using an approximated dynamic system model of a higher-order hydraulic system, which consists of PLC, digital valve, hydraulic cylinder and optical sensor. The results show that the improved PDF controller provides satisfactory control performance on contrast with 1DF PID control strategy and traditional PDF controller in hydraulic system.

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a new technique of case-base maintenance. The weighted association-based case reduction technique (WACRT) can reduce the size of the case-base in order to enhance the efficiency while maintaining or even improving the accuracy of the CBR. The weighted association rules do not use the property “all subsets of a frequent item set are frequent”. It is pruned by the “k-support bound”. The experiments on the engine design system have shown superior generalization accuracy for CBR with WACRT as well as a greater solving efficiency.

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a hybrid decision model using case-based reasoning augmented the Gaussian and k nearest neighbor methods for aided design camshaft in engine. The hybrid Gaussian k-NN (HGKNN) CBR scheme is designed to compute memberships between cam profile and engine parameters, which provides a more flexible and practical mechanism for reusing the decision knowledge. These methods were implemented in the database application and expert system following the examples of Cam Profile. To get the designed case, the retrieved results were compared and analyzed by HGKNN and k-NN algorithm in the CBR database. It proves the validity of HGKNN and CBR design system is used successfully in engine design process.

Abstract: This paper proposed a empirical method of atmospheric refraction error correction in optical low-level measuring. The experience attenuation coefficient was derived by using the data of previous tests, then it solved the problem of atmospheric refraction error correction under the condition does not have a sounding measurements. At the same time, this paper deduced the empirical formula of atmospheric refraction error correction in low-level measuring, using the empirical formula of atmospheric refraction error correction can overcome the stationary point problem in the traditional method when computing for the negative to positive angle(< ). The effectiveness was verified by the results of test data processing.

Abstract: According to the Parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) demands on powertrain systems, the dynamic models of PHEV are built in this paper. Base on the analysis of dynamical characteristics of both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric machine (EM), the dynamic ability and fuel economy performance of PHEV is presented. The paper focuses on the parametric design of powertrain on vehicle performance, which provided the theoretical foundation for PHEV design. The paper also puts forward the control strategy of PHEV during the operating modes switching, which aims to solve the problem of the power distribution between the ICE and electric motor, which can effectively resolve process control problems of the complex PHEV system. By employing the dynamic model and performing MATLAB simulation, the results of simulation are given, which demonstrate that the PHEV improve performance well.

Abstract: Vehicle swarm refers to a group of autonomous vehicles. Vehicle swarm motion coordination is a difficult problem in Intelligent Transport System. Due to similar characteristics of reactive agents and autonomous vehicles relying on self-organization principles, this paper presents reactive agent driven motion coordination for vehicle swarm that adopts large-scale independent local-reactive agents to perform a self-organized motion coordination control mechanism, which is composed of a network of swarm collaborative agents, a set of dynamic hybrid local networks of individual swarm collaborative agent and vehicle autonomic agents, and a homogenous self-organized motion coordination control protocol for individual vehicle autonomic agent’s self-adapting motion.

Abstract: In deep sub-micro CMOS process, the leakage power is becoming a significant proportion in power dissipation. Hence, estimating the leakage power of CMOS circuits is very important in low-power design. In this paper, an estimation technology for the total leakage power of adiabatic logic circuits by using SPICE is proposed. The basic principle of power estimation for traditional CMOS circuits using SPICE is introduced. According to the energy dissipation characteristic of adiabatic circuits, the estimation technology for leakage power is discussed. Taken as an example, the estimation for total leakage power dissipations of PAL-2N (pass-transistor adiabatic logic with NMOS pull-down configuration) circuits is illustrated using the proposed estimation technology.

Abstract: An accurate identification of the flutter derivatives of bridge deck section model in wind tunnel requires the information of dynamic properties of the bridge, including natural frequencies and damping ratios. This paper presents a method of identifying natural frequencies and damping ratios of the bridge deck section of different wind velocity. Firstly, we adopt the EMD technique to decompose the response signal of the model vibration into several mono-component signals which become analytic signal by means of Hilbert transform. Then each mono-component signal is analyzed via wavelet transform to identify the frequency and damping ratio. The results demonstrate that the combination method of EMD and Morlet wavelet transform can be used to identify the frequency and damping ratios effectively. The numerical simulation and the analysis of the response signal data from the bridge deck sectional model show that this method is effective.
