Abstract: The advantages of the precise carving techniques in complex curved surface mould processing are studied. The small tools of carved machine can realize the small size processing which is unachievable for CNC and NC milling machine. The method using accuracy engraving machine to manufacture complex curved surface mould with small features is proposed, so the speed of mould processing is accelerated, the cost of new product development is decreased, the rapid manufacturing is realized and the traditional design method using only CNC and milling machine is improved. Finally, this method has been applied to the processing of a plastic mould and the application method is expounded.

Abstract: The optimization of structural parameters of the scroll compressor is realized by using the method of collaborative optimization. The mathematic models of scroll compressor are established and the Multidisciplinary Design Optimization(MDO) problem is solved by using the iSIGHT software. An example of scroll compressor based on MDO was given to verify the validity and practicability of the model. A set of size parameters which satisfy multiply performance requirements are obtained. The simulations results indicate that both the optimal parameters of scroll compressor and improvement of energy efficiency ratio can be successfully fulfilled by collaborative optimization.

Abstract: According to the electric potential on the eight -needle electrodes in vacuum, the discrete equations based on the indeterminate linear charge density (LCD) are established by the boundary element integral equations. The non-uniform distributions of LCD on the needle electrodes are calculated through solving a set of linear equations. With the help of the LCD, the potential generated by the multi-needle electrodes at any point in vacuum have been obtained. In this paper we have realized the numerical calculation of the static field distributions for multi-needle electrode system by the boundary element approach.

Abstract: In this paper, an ant colony algorithm based on mutual information similarity is proposed to solve the stacked chips on the thermal layout optimization. In order to express the mutual information entropy between the optimal path and walking path, a new similarity impact factor is added in the algorithm operators of ant colony algorithm which increases the global search capability of original algorithm and moves the search speed in the solution space. Comparing with the traditional algorithm through experiment, the results show that the new algorithm improves some extent in solving performance and jumping out of the local minimum solution. The stacked chip temperature is significantly reduced when The new algorithm is applied to thermal layout optimization.

Abstract: This study aims to set the size ranges for male human body aged between 7 and 18, and to develop detailed body measurement criteria for each size. For that purpose, total 31 items were selected from the references of 5th SizeKorea Survey to carry out a statistical analysis, and they included 11 items for height, 15 for circumference and 15 items for length. Through the factorial analysis of those 31 items for body measurement, two dominant factors of obesity and height could be extracted as representative elements for body types. The circumference of waist was designated as the representative element for obesity factor, and the height as the representative element for height factor, and the size ranges were set to 3cm and 5cm intervals each for waste circumference and height. With two age groups of 7-12 and 13-18, the waste circumference and the height were cross-analyzed to decide high frequency sections, and based on this, the size ranges for 3D model development were decided. Lastly, detailed measurement specifications according to size ranges were developed through regression analysis. In this regression analysis, the circumference of waist was put as independent variable and the height as dependent variable. As a result, it was proved in this study that the circumference of waste was a strong element to explain obesity factor, and the height was to explain height factor in body measurement, and size specifications were developed according to different size ranges.

Abstract: Today’s highly competitive market influences the manufacturing industry to improve their production systems to become the optimal system in the shortest cycle time as possible. One of most common problems in manufacturing systems is the assembly line balancing problem. The assembly line balancing problem involves task assignments to workstations with optimum line efficiency The most common purposes of Computer Method for Sequencing Operations for Assembly Line (COMSOAL) are to minimise idle time, optimise production line efficiency, and minimise the number of workstations. Therefore, this paper leads to implement COMSOAL to balance an assembly line in the motorcycle industry. The new solution by COMSOAL will be used to compare with the previous solution that was developed by Multi‐Started Neighborhood Search Heuristic (MSNSH), which will result in five aspects including cycle time, total idle time, line efficiency, average daily productivity rate, and the workload balance. The journal name “Optimising and simulating the assembly line balancing problem in a motorcycle manufacturing company: a case study” will be used as the case study for this project.

Abstract: In order to solve the problem of chain wearing elongation due to random assembly of roller chain sleeve crevice orientation, a novel roller chain sleeve crevice identification and orientation device is proposed. By means of force analysis of the identified sleeve, establish the shape and material parameter relation of drive driven sprocket and collet, to fulfill high-efficiency and high-accuracy roller chain assembly. The tested chain sleeve is 10B-1, two hundred sleeve crevice identification and orientation were tested 50 times. Every test average time is 182.3s and all the sleeve crevice out of the discharge opening is collinear. The rationality and practical applicability of roller chain sleeve crevice identification and orientation device design procedure is verified.
