Abstract: Despite years of research on new product development suggesting that development speed is an important prerequisite for product success, the empirical results show conflicting conclusion. To offer much needed clarity, this study use a meta-analysis approach allowing the systematic integration of 45 empirical findings from existing research. The findings reveal that development speed has a positive impact on product success. Using subgroup analysis and meta-regression analysis, results show that the culture and industry characteristics, research level, informants and variables measurement are found to moderate the relationship between speed and new product success. These findings have important implications for further research.

Abstract: Variations are ubiquitous during the building period of construction projects, and their impact on the cost of projects has been confirmed by theory and practice. Therefore, engineers should determine the rates of variation accurately. Under the Conditions of Contract for Construction (FIDIC 99), the paper studied how to determinate variation rates with reference to similar work, which included defining similar work and determining new rates with reference to similar work.

Abstract: With the implementation of engineering projects, essentially, the owner expects to make handsome profits at the lowest cost. From the perspective of project cost, the study try to analyze production costs and transaction costs on tenders division process, then to establish different project cost metering model of tenders division. At the last, the study applies the model to a real case to test it.

Abstract: According to the research of Heinrich, DuPont Company and U.S. National Security Council, more than 80% of accidents are caused by individuals’ unsafe acts. In order to eliminate unsafe acts causing mine roof accidents, 10 types of common unsafe acts were summarized and 4 kinds occur most frequently based on 40 typical roof accidents, these 4 kinds of common unsafe acts are not choose the right work methods(20%), not prevent unsafe acts of others(17.5%), not check the environment(15%), nobody observe roof while working(12.5%). And then, corresponding safe acts are given. Finally, 4 types of improving measures are proposed, they are unsafe acts demonstration via 3-D animation, virtual reality training, unsafe acts knowledge contest and pithy formula teaching.

Abstract: These days, it is necessary to introduce motivational methods for foreign workers on construction sites in order to improve the productivity of Korean construction companies. Therefore, this study aimed to compare the motivational factors of East Asian laborers working on Korean construction fields in order to better understand the characteristics of foreign laborers. Of the motivational factors, economic factors among were considered more important than social and psychological factors for East Asian construction workers. And the importance averages of the construction workers from three ethnic groups were found to be statistically equal in terms of economic and social factors, but were not for psychological factors.

Abstract: Building of highway construction projects cost influencing factors system is the key to cost controlling. This paper analyses actual division of the projects cost about section two of coastal avenue north and coastal avenue south extension and Nan gang highway, and draws out the cost of primary and secondary influencing factors. Besides, based on factor analysis this paper establishes influencing factors system of highway construction projects cost, and provides reference for cost control.

Abstract: In recent years, construction industry develops rapidly with infrastructure investment continuing to increase. Project cost management is demanded increasingly in engineering project management, and cost forecast is a vital part that enterprise strengthen overall cost management and play an important role in engineering project management increasingly. This paper uses single regression method to forecast engineering project cost, in order to make project cost management more scientific and effective.

Abstract: Based on the characteristics of the large-scale construction projects, analyze the drawbacks of traditional organizational model, definition of service science and service. With theory of service science and research methods, analysis of the characteristics of the service-oriented organization, study model of services oriented organizations, research provides a theoretical basis for the innovation of China's large-scale construction project management organizational model.

Abstract: A basic engineering cost management system is basis about the engineering cost management for national or regional. As the main basis of engineering cost is determined by two factors are engineering quantity and unit price, so the basic engineering cost management system should reflect the management and control model in the project of "quantity" and "price" of these two aspects in any country or region.
