Abstract: In order to solve the problems of quality-tracing based on Lot Numbers, the corresponding methods were proposed, including the secondary marking method to solve the traceability information loss caused by the attrition of Lot Number, the coordinated coding mechanism among upstream and downstream enterprises and data sharing mode to solve the "Lot Number Isolated Island" in the quality traceability chain, and the “van following parts” mode of inner logistics to solve the management confusion of the work-in-process parts caused by merging, splitting and mixing the batch of the parts. In addition, the feasibility, cost and constraint conditions of the methods proposed were discussed. Finally, the practicality of the research program was illustrated by the application of specific cases.

Abstract: China’s manufacturing industry has obvious regional characteristics. With the regional economic development, how to improve the overall competitiveness of the regional manufacturing industry has become an important research subject for regional development. This paper analyzed the possibility of constructing Regional Manufacturing System (RMS) from the aspect of regional industrial association degree, puts forward the theoretical architecture of RMS which provides a reference model for the optimizing operation of the Manufacturing System and the business cooperation among the manufacturing enterprises in the region.

Abstract: This paper addresses a dynamic lot sizing problem with mixed returning items and disposals and bounded inventory. The returning items mean that returns are in good enough condition to re-enter the inventory supply stream. The producing, the holding, backlogging and disposals cost functions are concave cost functions. Furthermore, backlogging level and inventory level at each period is limited. The goal is to minimize the total cost of production, inventory holding/backlogging and disposal. A dynamic programming algorithm with complexity O(T3) is developed to solve this model, where T is the length of the planning horizon.

Abstract: Aiming at implementing knowledge reusability and high efficiency in the design process, this paper brings up a knowledge-based web service environment for 3D visualization (KWSE). KWSE proposes clearly: encapsulating geometry APIs to web services, knowledge fusion process and knowledge database management. To implement the construction it forms knowledge service model and knowledge-driven web service architecture. Following this architecture, a knowledge-driven 3D visualization system has been built using Open CASCADE geometry engine and WISF technology.

Abstract: According to the basic features of the process features of parts, a concept of logical parts and logical tools is analyzed, and a tool selection method based on process features of parts are proposed. A system for management and selection of NC tools is developed successfully, and by this system an exchange among tool parts produced by the different manufacturers, and the intelligent selection of tools based on the process features can be realized. The present analysis can provide the basis for its applications.

Abstract: Factory automation (FA) is a direct result of the underlying communication systems. To integrate the FA information and make FA control systems with flexibility and interoperability in automated manufacturing systems, the manufacturing message specification (MMS), Web services’ (WSs) technologies and typical FA systems are analyzed. A new design approach of the communication system structure is presented for FA systems in this paper. A prototype of FA control systems is used for evaluating performance of the communication system structure in C++ Visual Studio.NET and Java Borland Builder 9.0 development environment. The experimental results show that the proposed design approach is valid and promising.

Abstract: With the development of science technology, the purchase in market aren’t just product itself. As a more effective way, industry product service system (IPS2) offers an integration of tangible product and intangible service to meet users’ need as much as possible with minimal resource, there is much achievement on IPS2 in academe. In this paper, the software rental service system for hardware enterprise the information-based manufacturing, the system consists of eight function modules with the platform of IBOS/ASP, and integrates resources of users (hardware enterprise), telecom operator, and third-part software developer to provide customized service.

Abstract: Market-driven rapid response manufacturing demands manufacturing enterprises to increase their agility and robustness. This leads to more effective and efficient organization, management, planning and control of manufacturing resources in the manufacturing enterprises. In the paper, object-oriented method is adopted and UML is used to establish a manufacturing resource model. Then, all evaluation indices and corresponding hierarchical structure are established based on AHP. Then, the problem of rough capability estimation for Make-to-Order enterprises is described and discussed that deal with production orders of different delivery dates based on limited manufacturing resources. A rough production capability estimation system for Make-to-Order enterprises under limited manufacturing resources constraints is developed on Delphi 7 platform. The approach can be used to rapidly judge whether an enterprise has the capabilities needed to finish production orders on time, and to estimate a new order’s delivery date. The study of the paper lays the foundation for the future research of supply chain and distributed manufacturing.
