Abstract: Along the context of technological development, architectural development experienced the raw type technical period; the combined period of art and technology; and that of technology, art and ecology three combined as one. Now, the context and the place of high emotion associated are again merge into high-tech buildings. Combined with our practice of creation, this paper introduces and advocates this new direction of the development of technology.

Abstract: Along with globalization, the national minority area's local landscape vanishes gradually, planning and design in the minority areas face three problems; inconsistency understanding between subject and object, culture acculturation and identity lost, and dilemma between function and form, With the case study on the designing of Li County non-material cultural center , and following the local landscape theory synthetically in architecture design and landscape architecture, this paper discusses how to combine the ethnic look with the modern life and tourism industry to make a kind of reconciled and developing local landscape.

Abstract: This study focused on the structure of a multipurpose university gymnasium. The lower part of the structure is reinforced concrete frame structure and the top is steel roof truss, and the roof use radiation truss brace shell structure. In this paper, buckling analysis of the separate steel roof and the overall structure are investigated under the basic or combined load cases, and the stability of the structure is verified. This study provides a valuable reference for the design of similar structures.

Abstract: Architecture is not only functional, economic, and technical and other physical characteristics, but also closely related to human behaviors. Therefore, it also has originality, visual aesthetics and function to beautify the living characteristics. To keep interest in the exterior, with a strong modern style of "purity, geometry and sculptural architecture", should not be the best way. It is worth to integrate the traditional elements, symbols, with modern forms and ideas together to form the environmental and architectural modes with the cultural heritage and modern atmosphere, and their cultural patterns. To create an architectural culture in modern buildings that could keep the traditional cultural spirit and sustainable development may be our target to continually pursue.

Abstract: High-rise (a structure seventy-five feet or more in height [1]) housing buildings were first built accompany the improvement of construction technology in the 1890s in New York City. Some high-rise housing buildings which built in the end of 19th century or in the beginning of 20th century are preserved by the repair work and still being used today. In this study, I investigate the repair records and present condition of these kinds of the high-rise housing buildings. The purpose of this study is to know the repair work’s type and its cycle time of the high-rise housing buildings in New York City.

Abstract: In this paper, we explore the methods of VR(virtual reality) technology in conservation of traditional settlement. Take ancient village of Shanggantang in Jiangyong county of hunan province as a case, The digital information and data were collected based on field investigations, local survey and mapping. After data filtering and geometry modelling in three-dimension modelling software, a virtual village of ancient Shanggantang was built and a fly-through enabled scene was realized by VR technology, several browsing modes were supported to promote immersion. And provide scientific and intuitive basis of their protection and development.

Abstract: The heat transfer coefficient K value and The thermal inertia index D value plays an important role in wall insulation performance. This paper use the palisade structure of the thermal performance analysis and evaluation program K-value which developed by Chinese academy of sciences, taking Changsha area climate condition as an example ,to simulated and analyzed the hypothesis single wall material and the composite wall. So we can obtain the K value and D value on the wall insulation most effective value range.

Abstract: With the rapid development of China's economy and the increasingly serious energy issues, ecological architecture design is becoming more and more important. The article described in detail about the use of Ecotect in ecological architecture design through the method of case study, and extract a strategies of great significance to ecological architecture design.

Abstract: As an emerging technological and procedural shift within the building design industry, Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a set of interacting processes and technologies to manage essential building design and project data in digital format throughout the design procedure. It is also a central data repository to store and recall different kinds of project information through creating a 3D model as well as providing intelligent data for this model. Besides, project documentation can be brought forward as a byproduct of the 3D model. This kind of BIM approach allows designers to finish their design work and have the documentation of a building simultaneously. As a result, this design approach can accelerate the design procedure of building project through less time and effort. This paper begins with an outlook on the mechanism that BIM approach how to increase the productivity rates and reduce the waste of resources in architecture industry. Then, it provides a project example on the use of Autodesk Revit software system. At the end, a discussion on how BIM approach is applied to into the building design industry and on the potential benefits of BIM approach is put forward.
