Abstract: The exact stiffness matrix of a tapered Bernoulli-Euler beam is proposed, whose profile is assumed linear variation. Classical finite element method to get stiffness matrix through interpolation theory and the principle of virtual displacement is abandoned. Starting from the governing differential equation with second-order effect, the exact stiffness matrix of tapered beam can be obtained. In the formulation of finite element method, the stiffness matrix derived has the same accuracy with the solution of exact differential equation method. As is demonstrated in the numerical examples, the presented method can yield, in a very efficient way, accurate results for single tapered beam or structures consisting of tapered elements.

Abstract: The building moving has more than 100 years’ history. In the building moving, the design of the underpinning joints is one of the key problems. As to the frame structure, the most widely used method is the double beam underpinning system. Our research group has conduct 16 underpinning joints tests considering the different influential factors to study the mechanical performance of it. This paper first introduces the experiment briefly. And then make finite element analysis on the mechanical behavior of the column underpinning joints using the software ABAQUS as the platform. In the finite element analysis, the solid element is adopted and the master-slave contact surface is used to simulate the interaction between the column and the underpinning beams. The results show that the failure of the moving-beam is ahead of the coupling-beam and the bending-shear failure occurred in the moving-beam. As to the interface between the column and the beam, the lower part of the contact failed and the gaps can be seen. From the analysis results, the contact stress on the column is not uniformly distributed and larger in the upper part of the contact surface which is accord to the test results.

Abstract: Statical analysis of infilled frame structure was conducted on 3D finite element models by means of software ANSYS10.0. Analyses on relevant parameters of infilled frame walls with or without openings have been carried out seperately, and it is found that the relevant stiffness of the model gradually increases with the ratio of the wall’s width to its height. However, the effection of the width to height ratio of the wall on its structural lateral stiffness becomes much smaller when the value of the width to height ratio is larger than 1.5. The effection can be basically ignored when the width to height ratio is larger than 1.8. It is investigated that the ratio of posts inertia moment to beams has great influence on model’s relevant stiffness. The relevant stiffness of frame structure decreases with the growth of the ratio of posts inertia moment to beams (I2/I1). For a long time, Filling Wall is widely used in multi-storey buildings and Civil Construction Structures, for its flexible architecture flats and large interior space, etc. However, because of the imperfection in analysis methods and the defects in model, pure- framework design is used in civil architectures, and the weight of filling wall is calculated by converting to the Line Load on the beam. According to the analysis of 5.12 Wenchuan earthquake[1], the early filling wall absorbs a large earthquake because of its stiffness, while its Adhesive Tensile Strength is low, which making the earthquake-damage to the filling wall is more serious than that to the frame structure. By analyzing the parameters in non-opening and opening filling wall and changing a given parameter, while keeping other parameters unchanged. This paper studies the influence on the Lateral Stiffness of Frame Structure, to provide Earthquake Fortifying Areas with reference data in the design process of filling wall.

Abstract: Most researchers focus on the gait characteristics of hip and changed angle of knee joints, gait characteristics of foot is still less attention, also apply wavelet packet to analysis more detailed information of characteristics’ data, and use the support vector machine algorithm to reduce the randomness, it has their unique advantages in the small sample. Summarized the above three points of the paper, the paper proposes a new gait recognition method to extract trajectory of tiptoe, uses wavelet packet to analyze it, then applies SVM for classification and recognition. Tested at the NLPR database of Chinese Academy of Sciences of 45 camera angle, we observed that the recognition rate has significantly increased, we observed that the algorithm is an effective identification method.

Abstract: Petri net synthesis can avoid the state exploration problem by guaranteeing the correctness in the Petri net while incrementally expanding the net. This paper proposes the conditions imposed on a synthesis shared a kind of subnet under which the following structural properties will be preserved: repetitiveness, consistency, structural boundedness, conservativeness, structural liveness, P-invariant and T-invariant.

Abstract: One of the main problems for effective control of a minimally invasive surgery (MIS) is the imprecision that caused by hand tremor. In this paper, a new kind of nonlinear adaptive filter, the fuzzy wavelet neural network filter (FWNNF), is proposed to alleviate this problem. With the FWNNF, we can model and predict the hand tremor more effectively and improve the precision and reliability in the robot-assisted system for microsurgery. Extensive simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed filter and its superior performance over its competing rivals.

Abstract: One of the main problems for effective control of a minimally invasive surgery (MIS) is the imprecision that caused by hand tremor. In this paper, a novel adaptive filter, the least squares support vector machines adaptive filter (LS-SVMAF), is proposed to overcome this problem. Compared with traditional methods like multi-layer perceptron (MLP), LS-SVM shows a superior performance of nonlinear modeling with small scale of data set or high dimensional input space. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed filter and its superior performance over its competing rivals.

Abstract: This paper first discusses the relationship of Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and two-dimensional PCA (2DPCA). For 2DPCA eliminating the some covariance information which can be useful for recognition, The symmetrical Variation of 2DPCA for Face recognition (V2DPCA) is proposed. These experiments on both of ORL face bases shows improvement in recognition accuracy, fewer coefficients and recognition time over 2DPCA, and this algorithm is also superior to the traditional eigenfaces, ICA and Kernel eigenfaces in terms of the recognition accuracy.

Abstract: This article introduces the relationship benefits into the research area of materials industries. Through data mining, the study has shown that in the materials industries area, through relationship benefits, relationship marketing have significant impact on customer loyalty, relationship benefits play a fully mediating effect role. If customers of materials industries receive the relationship benefits from materials industries enterprises, they would maintain the relationship with materials industries enterprises. Our conclusions have the guiding effect for the materials industries enterprises, especially for the materials industries service enterprises.

Abstract: Genetic algorithms (GAs) have achieved lots of success in various applications, but the problem to balance exploration and exploitation of population is still up in the air. In this paper, we propose a variant of genetic algorithm with mating operator GASF to alleviate the problem; GASF measures the mating attractiveness of individuals from four aspects: gender, age, similarity and fitness. Individuals are assigned gender to facilitate mimicking human reproduction, and contributions of age, similarity and fitness to the attractiveness are respectively quantified and self-adaptively adjusted. Experimental results indicate that the proposed approach can achieve competitive performance with improved convergence.
