Abstract: The purpose of this study is to examine the validity of groove in enhancing performance of splicing fiber in air splicer. A groove is usually used to improve the condition of internal flow, reduce the internal pressure and so on. In this paper, a two-parameter numerical mathematic model was developed and calculated in two configurations (chamber with groove and chamber without groove). The strength of the fibers was measured which were got from the air splicer with two different configuration. The result of simulation and experimental shows that: with the increase of inlet pressure, the rotational velocity and axial velocity of air flow also increase for the without groove case. As a counterpart, the axial velocity can be significantly reduced while rotational velocity keeps constantly for the groove case.

Abstract: Based on the physical and chemical properties of silk and flax fibers, different reactive dyes are selected in union-color of one bath dyeing. For evaluating the dye-ability of the blended fabrics, reactive dyes containing bi-functional reactive groups are found. On basis of a number of experiments, influences of fixing temperature, fixing time, sodium sulfate consumption and sodium carbonate dosage are discussed. Through orthogonal experiment, the optimum conditions to silk/flax blended fabrics with Reactive Yellow B-4GLN are defined. Results of performance test indicate that Reactive Yellow B-4GLN has good colorfastness and levels and the union-color property of silk/flax fabrics is well.

Abstract: Protein fibers are attractive topics in the past decades. Among them, silk and wool fibers are very popular due to their luster, smooth surface and comfort. In order to reach union dyeing of silk/wool blends, chlorination pretreatment or introduction of low-temperature dyeing auxiliary for wool are selected and compared. The results showed that chlorination pretreated wool/silk dyed with weak acid dyes, can reach union dyeing under 80 oC, possibly under 70 oC. On the other hand, introduction of low-temperature dyeing auxiliary can slightly improve the union dyeing at different temperature ranges according to selection of weak acid dyes.

Abstract: Growth-curve models are generalized multivariate analysis-of-variance models. This kind of method was widely used in the prediction of industry development cycle. The textile industry occupies an important position in the national economy of China. The paper analyzed the development trend of Chinese textile industry based on growth curve model and found out that Chinese textile industry is in the formative stage and is about to begin entered into matured period. The next five years the average annual growth rate of Chinese textile industry can reach more than 9 percent, and the textile industry output will reach 6 trillions in 2015.

Abstract: A new combination machine of nonwovens’ compounding and drying has been developed successfully based on the process route of rubberizing, drying, cooling and winding. This machine can achieve the two-layer compound of nonwoven fabrics, especially the three-layer compound of heavy fabrics. Because of its small width, it’s fit for the research and development of new products; The different thickness of materials can be compounded, for the high flexibility, it’s suitable for the production of diverse products; On account of controlling temperature convenient and reliable, it’s can be easy to ensure the drying temperature. Static and dynamic analysis proceed for its main components, which can meet the static and dynamic requirements in the normal operation. The results of experiments show that this machine can be operated continuously and smoothly, the nonwoven fabrics can be composited well, and the optimal parameters of compound nonwoven fabrics have been obtained through the experiment.

Abstract: A design method and primary functions of pattern preparation system of computerized flat knitting machine are introduced. The system provides a formidable mapping system based on object-oriented and multi-document, so pattern becomes simple and flexible to be edited and displayed. In addition, the compiler has a novel method of compiling pattern data. Two pattern description files (PAT and CNT) are generated after compiled, which include all control information that computerized flat knitting machine needs. The system also provides a direct and friendly interface, through which user can accomplish pattern design quickly and conveniently.

Abstract: According to the documents and nongovernmental recording, there had been various color names of textiles in Qing dynasty. For example, there were at least 40 colors recorded in the official documents. Process of dyeing got to be good and stable in Qianlong 19th , there were at least 30 different dyeing processes at that time, such as direct dyeing, mordant dyeing, deoxidize dyeing and so on, or something more complicate. The dye stuff included indigo, rhubarb, young fustic, safflower, brazilwood, buds of pagoda tree, Amur cork, cape jasmine, gall, hulls of acorn. Dyeing additives included alum, alkali, prunus mume and almond oil. Rules for blue, red, green dyeing were stricter, while that for yellow and other colors were more flexible.

Abstract: The research based on fibre fineness analysis system of image, discussing the hardware and software problems and solutions in system building. The system be composed of optical and microscopy imaging, image collection and analysis, drives and control of workbench and measurement accessories. Through the microscopy imaging system, the fibre transforms into original image on the workbench, receiving digital image through image collection, further completing detection through proceeding image recognition, contour tracking, analysis and calculation etc. The key is proceeding the research that how to proceed edge detection to form single pixel edge adopting canny operator , extracting fibre image successive edge adopting eight directions search.

Abstract: In this study, the ultraviolet protective properties of the cotton fabrics dyed with natural dyes were investigated. It was observed that cotton fabrics dyed with natural dyes could absorb about 80% of the ultraviolet rays. It was demonstrated that the UV-protective effects were strongly dependent on the absorption characteristics of natural dyes for UV radiation.

Abstract: To explore the effect of artificial pigments on silk material coloring, ‘No2 Red X’ chemical dyestuff was used in the add-eat experiment of domestic silkworm. The result showed that: there was little effect on silk coloring in 5 instar larvae fed by pigments during the first 4d; while during the late period of 5 instar, added food pigments were transferred to silk gland by blood lymphatic, combined with silk molecular at the state of sorption, and formed natural red silk which was not easy to fade away. This result laid a theoretical basis for the study of artificial production natural color silk.
