Abstract: This paper, taking the example of the rural settlement in north Shaanxi province, explores the effective approaches to preserving the traditional architecture and its culture and concentrates on study and protection of the cultural characteristics of the built environment. The paper serves to emphasize the investigation into the cultural identity of the physical and mental environment closely related to everyday life in a built environment, specialty and uncertainty of the cultural traits in a particular area and analyses of the interrelated social factors. The paper is established in the field research into a typical village in a particular area and comparative analysis of the general character and individuality of the cultural identity, resulting in a highly targeted concrete protection strategy. There are various factors that could have effects on the cultural identity of the physical and mental environment closely related to everyday life in a built environment, among which social factors are fairly dominant. The rural settlements embody the traditional cultural contexts in quite a few different aspects. Thus, it is of actual significance to formulate a corresponding inheriting strategy based on seeking for their influencing factors and embodiments.

Abstract: De-colonization is an integrated part of modernization of the process of the 20th century in the world. It can be understood as a process which embodies two parallel movements-the colonized people’s struggle for independence and the colonial metropolitan country’s reaction. This paper takes the Zhongshan Park (formal Quanye Expo) in Tianjin’s Chinese settlements as a specific case and investigates the interplay between native culture and colonial culture in the park building process. Through investigating the Chinese Municipal Parks, the paper elucidates the conflicts between colonialism and nationalism contextualized in Sino-West cultural encounters, and reveals the Chinese efforts for cultural de-colonization in early 20th century.

Abstract: This work proposes a method of information integration based Cloud Computing. Users can ask for services through application layer, using the open source Hadoop and implementing medical image data storage and analysis. The functional level of this system is on the basis of service. In our experiments, using the MapReduce framework, efficiently implement the DCM format medical data convert to JPEG format picture. We are working on the function to directly read the medical data which is stored in PACS.

Abstract: Every Expo has constantly played a significant role in the exploration of us. Exploration here indicates a realizable dream rather than a pure Utopia. To describe this definition exactly, a new word “Ourtopia” is created, blending “Our” into “Topos” from ancient Greek, describing an attainable one through the transformation of the ideal into the real with a plurality of thought and action. Under this unique context, Shanghai Expo provides an opportunity to achieve Ourtopia from choosing of Expo sites, rebuilding of UBPA, reconstruction of industrial heritage itself. Through Shanghai Expo, industrial heritage succession is defined as a period of balancing different values, especially culture and economic. And, industrial heritage innovation between Pre-and-Post Expo must be based on analyzing these three comparisons---event-based VS. necessity, temporary VS. permanent, super-scale VS. comfortable-scale. Accordingly, other cities study from Shanghai Expo sample in terms of three perspectives--- Mega event VS. non-mega event, short periods VS. long-term impact, nationality VS. locality, thereby exploring industrial heritage potential value.

Abstract: Local architecture is a complex system with historical and dynamic evolution, having formed in the superposed action of regional natural, social environment and the other more factors. The evolution of its development is a dynamic symbiosis process restricted by many factors mentioned above. Facing to the complex phenomenon of regional architecture, local architecture creation is always to be fettered which confining to the architecture body analysis and solving. Thus, it’s hard to break through it in most cases. This paper attempts to merges the traditional Chinese medicine theory into the theoretical study of the local architecture. From the concept of traditional Chinese medicine such as the whole system balance philosophy, harmony between human being and nature idea, this paper analyses and discusses the concept and consciousness of local architecture through the review of the origins of local architectural and characteristics. Then, it also put forward some methods of the local architectural creation by the inspiration of traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis concept.

Abstract: The earth-sheltered architecture has a long history and many advantages such as warm winter and cool summer; optimal land utilization; protecting the environment and low-cost maintenance, etc. Meanwhile, the earth-sheltered architecture as the modern cave dwelling has many problems needed to be solved. This paper takes the Chongqing Empirical Study Center of Building Energy Conservation for instance, analyzes the characteristics of the environmental protection and energy conservation, and the effects of natural lighting and ventilation are also simulated by computer. From these simulations, we can get the date of natural lighting and ventilation, which can be used to guide the design process and thus the weakness of earth-sheltered architecture can be solved by using the above means.

Abstract: On the background of the tourism exploitation, according to wetland settlement local culture and custom in Qia Chuan, Shaanxi, through the interpretation of Qia Chuan existing villages to excavate regional architecture’ characteristics and elements, applied Qia Chuan wetland settlement’ local culture to architecture design ,protected it and reformed it, reinterpreted local conditions and customs with special forms of space, provided people a space which they can have a more profound understanding about local history and culture to look at with reverence. Through exploring the characteristics of the towns’ local architecture that have been creative coped and the inherited the way of the modern transformation in order to realize space deduction of modernization and regionalization in Yellow River wetland settlement local conditions and customs.

Abstract: The influence of the bond pattern on the in-plane limit strength of masonry is analyzed through a simplified procedure based on the application of the safe theorem of limit analysis to the unit cell that generates the whole masonry by periodic repetition. The limit strength domains of running bond, English bond and herringbone bond masonry are obtained with different orientations of the mortar bed joints with respect to the principal directions of the average stress. The effects of different brick geometries are analyzed and comparisons between strength properties of different masonry patterns are made.

Abstract: In order to meet public building energy management and data sharing requirements, the pattern and framework of energy consumption monitoring platform are expounded, and energy data collection and transmission methods are proposed. According to different management demands, different realizing approach and method are explained from dimensions of energy index, baseline choice and data analysis.

Abstract: with the trend of post-modernism and high - tech architectural language of collisions, growing should not be ignored in the construction industry, for architectural beauty of the standard scale, however people began to change. Appreciation from abroad, while architectural features in continuous learning, we must adhere to the basis of local building, continue to inherit and develop. This article on the current architecture follows the trend of the current situation, China's domestic architecture characteristics, how issues such as inheritance and development of recommendations.
