Abstract: In order to improve the gaseous and electrochemical hydrogen storage kinetics of the Mg2Ni-type alloys, Ni in the alloy was partially substituted by element Co. Melt-spinning technology was used for the preparation of the Mg20Ni10-xCox (x=0, 1, 2, 3, 4) hydrogen storage alloys. The structures of the as-cast and spun alloys are characterized by XRD, SEM and TEM. The gaseous hydrogen absorption and desorption kinetics of the alloys were measured by an automatically controlled Sieverts apparatus. The electrochemical hydrogen storage kinetics of the as-spun alloys is tested by an automatic galvanostatic system. The results show that the as-spun Co-free alloy holds a typical nanocrystalline structure, whereas the as-spun alloys substituted by Co display a nanocrystalline and amorphous structure, confirming that the substitution of Co for Ni facilitates the glass formation in the Mg2Ni-type alloy. Both the melt spinning and the substitution of Co for Ni evidently ameliorate the hydriding and dehydriding kinetics and the HRD of the alloys. With an increase in the spinning rate from 0 (As-cast was defined as spinning rate of 0 m/s) to 30 m/s, the hydrogen absorption saturation ratio ( ) of the Co4 alloy grows from 77.1 to 93.5 wt.%, the hydrogen desorption ratio ( ) from 54.5% to 70.2%, the HRD from 60.3% to 76.0%, respectively.

Abstract: To detect two single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in DNMT1 gene and the expression of corresponding region (1aa-120aa) in Wilms tumor (WT) and normal kidney tissue and analyze the association of polymorphism with clinicopathological parameters. Genomic DNA was extracted from tumor and normal tissues. PCR was used to amplify two SNP sites (rs16999593 and rs75616428 from the coding region of DNMT1). The PCR products were sequenced and genotyped. The protein expression of the first 120 aa of DNMT1 was evaluated by immunohistochemistry. Among 25 cases whose genotypes and gene frequencies studied, 18 cases of heterozygosity and 2 cases of homozygosity were identified. The region of the first 120 aa of DNMT1 was expressed in epithelial cells in normal kidney tissue, but was upregulated in tumors. The rs16999593 polymorphism might be used as a risk factor for WT diagnosis.

Abstract: Four flavonoid compounds from the tartary buckwheat grains were purified by hydrated ethanol extraction and chromatography isolation. Their ion fragments and mass-to-charge ratios were obtained using electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry, respectively. The four flavonoids were identified as flavonols, quercetin 3-O-rutinoside-3'-O-β-glucopyranoside, rutin, kaempferol 3-O-rutinoside, and quercetin.

Abstract: Solar water heater cannot supply hot water in cloudy and raining days alone. It in combination with air source heat pump water heater (ASHPWH) is a good choice. The performance of the two kinds of water heater is affected by the water temperature. It is important that the ASHPWH operate at a right temperature of the water. A solar water heater with 4m2 flat-plate collector assisted by a 1.5kW ASHPWH is studied in this paper. The results show that both the collector efficiency of the solar water heater and the COP of the ASHPWH system decreases as the water temperature increases. The highest and lowest collector efficiency of the solar water heater are 54.4% and 45.6% respectively. The COP of the ASHPWH system ranges from 6.48 to 2.61 as the water temperature increases. Operating sequences of these two kinds of water heater affect solar energy utilization ratio and the power input of the ASHPWH system.

Abstract: Antennal olfactory responses of the parasitoid, Apanteles sp. (Hymenoptera: Braconidae), to 13 host-induced volatile compounds were measured by electroantennogram (EAG) techniques. Dose response curves of EAG indicated that compared with males, females showed significantly stronger EAG responses to (Z)-3-hexenal, (E)-2-hexenal, (Z)-3-hexen-1-ol, (Z)-3-hexenyl acetate, (Z)-3-hexenyl-hexanoate and Benzyl nitrile. Among plant volatiles tested, the females were most sensitive to 100μM (Z)-3-hexen-1-ol, while the males were more sensitive to 100μM (E)-2-hexenal. The results show that the wasp is able to detect all compounds tested. We detected no sexual differences in the EAG responses to (E)-2-hexenyl hexanoate, (Z)-3-hexenyl benzoate, (Z)-3-hexenyl-2-methyl butyrate, (E)-β-ocimene, Linalool and DMNT.

Abstract: Based on soft and crumbly surrounding rock of roadway, poor integrity of roof, drench water in roadway, the large in-situ stress and other complex conditions, this paper analyzes the cause of roadway destruction and grouting strengthening mechanism, using the coupling of grouting technique to integrated strengthening for the region. Engineering application shows that the integrated strengthening effect is obvious, and the economic and technique effectiveness is remarkable. The successful application of secondary coupling grouting technology provides the reference for the mine laneway construction of similar geological conditions.

Abstract: This report showed some physicochemical properties and structural features about DPV-UL13 protein predicted by some software and online tools. The online analysis of the physicochemical properties demonstrates that the protein has thirty-four potential phosphorylation sites when the threshold of prediction score is above 0.5 and both the signal peptide and the transmembrance region are not found. In addition, the protein has hydrophilic amine acid districts more than hydrophobic districts and subcellular localization largely locates at mitochondrial with 43.5%. The secondary structure results revealed that random coils dominated among secondary structure elements followed by alpha helix and extended strand. The phylogenetic tree shows that DPV-UL13 protein has close evolutionary relationship with the genus Mardivirus. And the multiple sequences alignment of UL13 protein in 156-436 sequence among DPV, HSV-1 and Mardivirus genus suggests highly conserved characteristic. These analysis surpports the guess that DPV-UL13 product may be a Ser/Thr protein kinase. All the data will be a basis for the further functional study of the DPV-UL13 protein.

Abstract: The effects of biosorption time and cell concentration on adsorption amount on the surface of diaspore, kaolinite and quartz were studied by using two kinds of silicate bacteria ____Bacillus circulans and Bacillus mucilaginosus, and three kinds of silicate minerals . the experimental results show that two kinds of silicate bacteria absorb more easily on the surface of diaspore than on that of kaolinite and quartz, and the adsorption amount of the strain of B•M is always higher than that of the strain of B•C on the surface of diaspore, kaolinite and quartz .The possible reason is that the pHPZC of diaspore is higher than that of kaolinite and quartz, and the strain of B•M probably produce more metabolites charged negatively than that of B•C in incubation process.

Abstract: The unsaturated biological material is divided into the wetting phase and the non-wetting phase, the diffusion of which has the characterization of fractal. In this study, we developed a simple wetting region model to calculate the local moisture content using the box-counting method during the drying process. A new constitutive relationship was derived to determine the unsaturated porous biological material’s shrinkage with the local moisture content and the fractal dimension of the wetting phase. The volume change was linearly correlated with local saturation with larger correlation coefficient, so the new mathematical model is more accurate than others.
