Abstract: The losing ratio of leakage in the process of water supply is about 10%-30% in total. However, the existing water supply system has no rational planning and distribution. On the other hand, it is growing fast. It is a challenge to check the leakage in whole water supply network. This paper tries to present a solution to ensure that the regional network runs reasonably and safely, which is building a regionalization of the detected model.

Abstract: The optimization of extraction of cordycepin from fruiting body of Cordyceps militaris YCC-01 by water extraction, ethanol extraction, ultrasonic extraction, and synergistic extraction is studied in this paper. The optimal conditions, water extraction at 85°C for 2.5h plus ultrasonic extraction at 600W for 35min, were determined through high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The dried fruiting body of cordycepin content was 9.559 mg/g by this synergistic extraction method. The yield was 66.2% higher than the control group 85°C water extraction 2.5h and 11.3% higher than the room temperature ultrasonic extraction 35min. This method has a short extraction time, low cost, low loss of active ingredients and other characteristics with good prospects.

Abstract: Pyropheophorbid-a (PyroPheo) is one of the well-known photosensitizers which can be useful for future clinical applications. This work is aimed to compare and measure generation rates of single oxygen through activation of pyropheophorbide-a by four different wavelength, and observe the sensitivity of pyropheophorbide-a mediated photodynamic therapy for eca-109 cell. Methods: UV-vis spectrophotometrics was used to measure decrease of singlet oxygen probe 9,10-dimethylanthracene(DPBF) so as to evaluate singlet oxygen production generation. The Eca-109 cells were were exposed to light (650nm) with a constant light power of 200mW/cm2, at a distance of 5cm, for 25 to 200 seconds. The results were measured by MTT assay. Results: pyropheophorbide-a in DMF solution irradiation by different light power can produce singlet oxygen quickly. Comparison of single oxygen generation rate has proved that photodynamic effect at 532nm is fastest, followed by 650nm, 635nm, 690nm which has correlation with absorbance of pyropheophorbide-a. The survival rate of cells dropped after irradiation by light what was significantly different from other groups. Conclusion: pyropheophorbide-a is an excellent photosensitizer and prooxidant. Through activated by different wavelength it could be apply to different disease

Abstract: For the purpose of researching the effect degree of insecticidal and anti-microbial activities in ragweed extracting solution on the health of mammal. Firstly, we extracted the activated ingredient which has the function of anti-microbial activities. Then we made acute toxicity test and analyzed protective enzymatic activity of rats’ liver. The result of test showed that extraction rate of using ultrasonic extraction method was 22.16%, which is higher than ordinary temperatures immersion method and heating immersion method. The LD50 of mice with ragweed extracting solution is 4986.396mg/kg. Its toxicity level belongs to low mammalian toxicity. The results of protective enzymatic activity assays on rats’ liver showed that activity of SOD was restrained at first and then was activated. The highest inhibition rate was 15.88% in treatment group and the highest activity of SOD in treatment increased by 1.13times than normal group. The activity of CAT in treatment group was all lower than normal group. The highest inhibition rate was 42.06% through the enzymatic activity change process. The activity of POD in treatment group was invariably in the state of inhibition. The highest inhibition rate was 79.06% in treatment group.

Abstract: Studies have shown that the internal pressure of the spiral case could cause damage of the surrounding concrete, and the damage range and level are possible to grow with the repeated action of water hammer pressure. The security of spiral case structure may be adversely affected by damage of the surrounding concrete. In this paper, the case study of a spiral case which located in Nuozhadu hydropower station in Yunnan Province is presented. In order to analyze the damage effect of surrounding concrete under the repeated maximal water hammer pressure, a three-dimensional finite element model is established by ABAQUS software. In calculation, the contact elements are used to simulate the feature of frictional contact between steel liner and surrounding concrete, and the concrete damage plasticity constitutive model is adopted to describe the tensile characteristic of concrete. At last, according to the results of simulation, the damage range and level are investigated.

Abstract: Amino acids, the basic unit of protein molecules, are closely related with biological activities. In order to enhance the expression of human-like collagen (HLC), amino acids were added into fermentation broth, and response surface methodology (RSM) to optimize the categories and the concentration of amino acids. The results of PB-design showed that only the dosage of alanine and glutamate had significant effects on the production of HLC. Quadratic polynomial models were established after analyzing the results of CCD-design. The optimal concentration of alanine and glutamate were 3.78gL-1、and 2.52g•L-1 respectively. Under the optimal cultivation condition the maximal production of human-like collagen could be up to 0.292g•L-1 which was 11.45% higher than that of the control group 0.262g•L-1 (the highest production of the former study).

Abstract: In order to reach the deep of a human body, steerable needle is usually used in minimally invasive surgeries. For increasing the steerability and steering accuracy, a novel magnetic articulated needle is proposed in this paper. The proposed needle consists of a magnetic head, articulations, and sections. A magnetic force is generated on the needle head by adding an external magnetic field, which is used to manipulating the needle’s inserting path. The generated magnetic force and the motion of such a needle are analyzed for understanding the steering of the needle. The proposed needle is more easily to be controlled to avoid obstacles in human body while inserting.

Abstract: Study Design A retrospective study of patients who underwent kyphoplasty at a single institute. Objective To examine and compare the safety and long-term radiographic and clinical effects of unilateral or bilateral kyphoplasty to treat symptomatic vertebral compression fractures (VCF). Summary of Background Data Kyphoplasty (KP) involves placement of inflatable bone tamp via unilateral and bilateral approaches. Few randomized study comparing the radiographic and clinical outcomes using unilateral and bilateral approaches was reported. Methods 50 patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (VCF) were allocated into two groups adopting unilateral or bilateral kyphoplasty. Preoperative and postoperative pain scores, Vertebral body height were compared and analyzed. Results Both unilateral and bilateral kyphoplasty resulted in significant pain reduction. Significant increases of midline vertebral body height were recorded for both groups after surgery and maintained for the period of follow-up. Asymptomatic cement extravasation occurred in 8 of 50 patients, and 2 patients developed additional fractures at untreated levels during the period of follow-up. Conclusions Both unilateral and bilateral KP can improve clinical effects of osteoporotic VCF and result in significant vertebral height restoration for at least 18 months after treatment.
