Abstract: The design, implementation, and testing of a tri-axial magnetometer instrument are introduced. The design is based on the MAG3110 chip. This chip has the properties of low power consumption and high resolution in the conventional mode. It runs with the peak power at 86.4μJ and the resolution of 0.1μT. The 12C5A60S2 MCU is chose as the data process and transfer unit. The data from the MCU is received by the principal computer through serial port. The measurement results, including the strength and the three component of magnetic field are displayed on PC by real-time curve through a VB programmed interface. The comparison between the measurements and the theoretical values shows that this instrument has the characteristic of high accuracy, high sensitivity and real-time display.

Abstract: Today, most eye monitoring systems use cameras to capture eye images, which are called vedio-oculography systems (VOG). The basic elements of the VOG system are eyes, cameras and lights [1]. Especially, the location of the camera to eyes is very important. In this paper, the location of the single camera under the natural light was modeled. And the model was computed and simulated on the Matlab platform. Then, the eyes moving images were sampled by the camera In-Sight Micro 1020 from the Cognex Company to analyze the reasonable position of the camera. Test results show that the single camera should locate at the side of one eye within 40o, or it couldn’t sample clear eye moving images. This conclusion provides a reference to the further development of the actual VOG system.

Abstract: The present study aims at evaluating residual fatigue life under multiple overload variable amplitude loading (VAL) by using a dynamical coefficient mechanics (DCM) model which we have reported for data fitting analysis. New formulas connecting the crack length with number of cycles and expressions for fatigue crack growth (FCG) under multiple overload VAL have been derived and were used to predict crack propagation. The ratios of predicted-to-experimental lives range from 1.01 to 1.03, which indicates that the results obtained from this DCM model are in good agreement with experimental data from published literatures and cover all stages of fatigue crack growth curve.

Abstract: Because of the geographical conditions, Taiwan faces serious threats and unpredictable disasters from the nature, such as earthquake, typhoon and flood disaster throughout the whole year. Up to today, based on statistical data of 60 years, the annual average damages caused by typhoon each year were 3.5 times than those caused by others and those caused by floods were even dozens. Therefore, Taiwan is deeply in need of a complete and fast precaution mechanism with emergency flood disaster. In general, one of the most ways to prevent flood is pilling sandbags as a temporary barrier right at the water inlet way of each house or basement driveway. This study applies the concept of disaster management to adjudge the flooding prevention treatment, also illustrates the lateral static water pressure measurement and analysis of temporary sandbags barrier facility. With the help of analyze and calculation of the actual rainfall, the reality simulation of the damage caused by the disaster can be improved dramatically. This will be the basis for planning the advanced disaster prevention and disaster reduction of each city.

Abstract: Aiming at the generation of blasting fume in underground blind roadway, numerical simulation method was taken to obtain the diffusion law of the blasting fume. In accordance with the actual situation in Shachang mining area of Shouyun iron mine, the physical model and mathematical model were set up, computational grids were divided, and the boundary condition was established. The diffusion law of blasting fume and the completion time under different explosives dosage were simulated by Fluent. The laws of blasting fume diffusion and diffusion time changing with the amount of explosive in local fan forced ventilation were obtained. The results can provide a theoretical basis for the research of a reasonable and effective ventilation manner of blind roadway.

Abstract: Aiming at the deficiency of current geological logging method on the coal working face, the geological logging information system for coal mines based on digital camera is developed, integrating techniques of photogrammetry, graphic and image processing, and GIS. Emphasis is mainly placed on the fast acquisition of images from coal mining and excavation faces, photographic information processing and geological logging method, thus achieving the integrated work pattern of data acquisition, computer-aided processing and logging mapping. The experiment shows that by applying the fast geological logging technique of coal mines, the logging result which is accurate, authentic, reliable and satisfies the current requirements can be obtained, improving the work efficiency and result quality, therefore providing a new means and approach for geological logging of underground coal mines.

Abstract: This paper propose a new proportion of lining fiber concrete, which can overcome the drawbacks of traditional concrete such as fragile and cracks. Result showed that the concrete strength rise with cement and slag powder increasing. And drop with the increased of fly ash. Double mixing fly ash and slag powder can increase strength more obviously.

Abstract: Most geo-engineering cases have non-linearity. Particularly, the material non-linearity is an important character of geo-engineering cases. Due to the randomness of materials’ spatial variation as well as boundary conditions’ fluctuation, these cases’ study incorporates stochastic theory. Stochastic finite element method is applicable for the randomness. The visco-plasto constitution is helpful for non-linear stochastic FEM application. The algorithm for non-linear stochastic FEM was established.

Abstract: The mechanical characteristics of Zhoushan marine soil are of importance for proper design on local ocean environmental structures. The first-hand data got from GDS system test are helpful for quantification of these structures’ design and study. The stochastic dynamic strength spectrum of Zhoushan marine soil was established based on FFT and the stochastic spectral characteristics were offered. The analysis results show that Zhoushan marine soil is possessed of random mechanical nature.

Abstract: Circulating pump is used to transport hot water from source to user in heating network. It has been always neglected that transport power affects reliability of district heating system directly. In this paper, the ratio of the speed of circulating pump under design condition to the rated speed was structured to describe the allowance of circulating pump, as well as its transport power. Taking example for a single-source district heating system, the effect from transport power to reliability was analyzed by calculating the comprehensive reliability. Thus, the quantitative relationship between transport power and reliability of the district heating system was discovered, showing the maximum reliability with the related transport power of circulating pump. In addition, the analysis shows that circulating pump with steep-type performance curve can improve reliability to some extent.
