Abstract: This paper designed a systematic evaluation methodology to study the regional comprehensive production capacity of hog industry in China. A three-layer evaluation index system of comprehensive production capacity of hog industry was established. The index system included 26 indicators and mainly covered seven respects, namely natural resource condition, feed supply capacity, current status of hog production, costs and returns of hog production, agricultural foundation, support capability of animal science and technology, and ecological environment condition. Then based on the index system, applied entropy weight method, grey relational analysis and principal component analysis, the comprehensive production capacity of hog industry of 31 provinces and municipalities in China in 2000, 2005 and 2010 was evaluated respectively. The consistency of these three methods was examined by Mann-Kendall test. A combined evaluation was conducted and reasons led to the great variation in ranking for some provinces and municipalities during the period of 2000-2010 were analyzed. Applied hierarchical clustering method, 31 provinces and municipalities were divided into four groups and the regions which were appropriate for hog farming and which were not were figured out.

Abstract: China is undertaking an unprecedented development of rapid urbanization, and a large number of rural people are pouring into cities. It is estimated that the proportion of China's urban population will reach 60% in 2030. In fact, China's ecological environment has already been severely damaged. To be specific, large areas of river basin have been polluted, and a great deal of farmland has been replaced. However, current landscape planning and design are not trying to solve these urban issues, on the contrary, it costs huge in pursuit of one-sided visual effects. It merely accelerates the deterioration of our living environment. Thus, returning to the basic production of land, returning to the original landscape design as the art of survival, bringing food planting back to people's daily lives, and creating a productive landscape in the city are the strategies of survival for human being. The article focuses on urban productive landscape, which reflects several issues, such as agricultural production, current urban lifestyles, environmental quality, etc. It summarizes that the urban productive landscape plays a positive role and has a great potential in terms of enhancing the environmental, social, and economic status. Problems faced in the specific process of implementations and corresponding solutions are also given in the end.

Abstract: Based on the previous theories of spatial structure optimization on regional tourism system in China, this research discusses the spatial structure optimization on regional tourism system of Huangshan City. It is proved by the empirical analysis that the spatial structure of tourism system in Huangshan City is in the stage of radiation mode at present, and with the period of reorganization and optimization on its spatial structure and tourism route system. The future expansion mode should be the ideal spatial structure of regional tourism system in Huangshan City. This process is ongoing.

Abstract: urban traffic congestion will not only cause traffic problems, but also lead to environmental problems. Important method to ease urban congestion is to establish advanced public transportation system in cities. Currently, partaking rate of public transportation is insufficient in China, thus making it impossible for public transportation to play expected role. In order to solve the problem of partaking rate of public transportation in cities, efforts should be made to give full play to the government’s role, improve internal operation efficiency and guide urban residents to select public transportation for trips actively.

Abstract: Since Chinese American geographer Yi-Fu Tuan introduced the concept of “place” to human geography, the research on “place” and “sense of place” has become popular in geography. From the perspective of urban culture, this paper categorized and analyzed the components of sense of place in Guangzhou, and took Canton Tower, Shamian Island, Cantonese, and Guangzhou Evergrande as four examples. This paper further discussed the influence of concrete elements and abstract elements on sense of place, and explored how to build a contemporary sense of place in Guangzhou with place theory under global historical background in order to promote the healthy, sustainable and harmonious development.

Abstract: An urban economic space system consists of an interactional economic system and its carrier. Characterized by numerous elements, complex relations, and structural levels, this system is also composed of the following: industrialization, urbanization and its cooperative system, environmental restrictions, and other subsystems. Structural principle and interpretive structural modeling are employed to build an interpretive structural model of 36 elements distributed across 12 levels. The following relation, i.e., industrialization → urbanization → environmental restrictions, constitutes a core substructure that affects the cooperative degree of urbanization and industrialization.

Abstract: This paper firstly explains concepts of inland port and hinterland, secondly puts forward the innovative concept of "inland port - hinterland system", thirdly uses the theory of life cycle to analyzs inland port - hinterland system in different stage of development, finally describes the characteristics in the 5 stages. It is helpful to provide policy advice and decision support system to promote system sustainable development.

Abstract: Water shortage due to deterioration of water quality is quite serious near Hangzhou Bay. Jiaxing city is near the Shanghai and Hangzhou city, located at Zhejiang province in the South China, which belongs to the typical area of network of rivers in the Taihu watershed. The research provides a primary consideration of methodology to comprehensively evaluate regional environment social economic system, focuses on regional environment social economic system of Jiaxing city, including its location and transportation status, and summary to improve the water environment for the future generations are given.

Abstract: China has grown rapidly since 1978, when it began to reform. However, the conflicts between the fast economic social development and pressure of the resources and environment are increasingly outstanding, which restrict regional social and economic sustainable development. Experience shows that China's National Sustainable Communities (CNSCs) since 1986 were the important carrier to carry out the sustainable development strategy and promote the coordinative development of economy, society, resources and environment. Based on the requirements and new trends of CNSCs, the basic idea for construction and development of current CNSCs was built, and the key elements and links were discussed, which guide proper planning to different types of CNSC construction.
