Abstract: Through the reorganization, analysis and summary of Hargreaves’s campus overall plan design idea of Cicinnati University, the author carried on the discussion to the existing university campus environment design, then given the explicit mentality and the localization. It will have the enlightenment by the time to the present campus construction and the landscape design, and will be helpful in the outstanding campus landscape formation.

Abstract: The disasters in southwest mountainous cities are serious and special, which has wide distribution range and whose relative factors are complicated and fuzzy. The paper analyses two categories, five terms characters of mountain disaster, which supported by statistics data. The relationship between mountain disasters and the construction are closeness. Disaster prevention and reduction to the human settlement construction is basic function, which needs theoretical support by human settlement.

Abstract: Discussing the contemporary landscape design of urban plaza based on sorting and analyzing the plaza design of Martha Schwartz. The author aimed at the Landscape Architecture’s character, presented some new proposals to solve landscape design of urban plaza problems, and given out a specific design objective to discussing the theory and methods appropriate for the basic conception “taking man as the center” in the urban design.

Abstract: Rural landscape planning is the important substance of the China’s socialist New Countryside Construction. Through the analysis of the meaning of the socialist New Countryside Construction and rural landscape planning, this paper probed into the main content of the rural landscape planning, discussed the role of rural landscape planning in socialist New Countryside Construction.

Abstract: With the rapid development of urbanization process, urban population has had a surge in recent few decades, and the following appeared problem is gradual crowd in cities and potential sense of loneliness appearing in individuals in crowds. Urban public space design is very important because the urban public space is a main place for people to have social contacts and relaxations. Through analyzed and observed hundreds of urban public space, put forward some advice to create successful urban public space.

Abstract: This paper analysizes and compares the standards and eco-indexes for the ecological residential quarters in China and Germany. Based on the discussion, the paper emphasizes that the local technical and economic framework conditions should be taken into account by developing a standard system with eco-indexes for residential projects.

Abstract: LEED-NC is a green building rating system for new construction developed by USGBC. In past 10 years, it has become the most famous assessment tool of the world and achieved the huge market success. In China, LEED and LEED-NC developed rapidly too. But, under the background of source shortage and global climate change, any green building rating system must place energy saving in important, even the first position. From energy saving, this paper analyzed unbalant environmental performance of LEED-NC certified projects because of inter-compensatory problem, especially in energy saving. Meanwhile, discussing post-occupancy evaluation of LEED-NC certified buildings, the paper verified many LEED-NC certified building did not save any energy. On this basis, paper pointed out new LEED-NC2009 meliorated the inter-compensatory problem. But, as a linear summation computational model, LEED-NC can not avoid inter-compensation absolutely. There is much room for USGBC to improve LEED-NC and China should be cautious to pursue LEED-NC.

Abstract: Building with the times, the traditional architectural form obviously cannot meet the need of modern social life. After the "international style ", modern architecture has been exploring its new features of the times. In which the new regional characteristics is a topic of the times of the building, which relates to the succession of traditional architecture. This article focuses on talking about the soft traditional in Chinese and Japanese architecture and its influence over the modern architecture.

Abstract: The research was mainly aimed at the hotspot of natural lighting environment of gymnasium design in China, and applied Value Engineering Theory to calculate current and objective function costs of natural lighting environment of gymnasium based on the qualitative and quantitative function analysis. Using Function Analysis Systematic Technique, the relationship between function, cost and value was analysised to seek the lowest costs of natural lighting environment of gymnasium functions. Using the idea of all-life design, and aiming at value pursuit and value realization as the goal of natural lighting environment of gymnasium design, a design idea and theory frame are constructed.

Abstract: LED building means that the LED screen covers building surface mostly, which could real-time reflect information, while forgetting the concept of “wall”. The information materialized itself. At the same time, information approaches the relationship between the architects and the popularity, so that confuses the difference. The space will not “be pushed” by the architects, while “being fetched” by the popularity. This visual space not only “analogs”, “translates”, or “amplifies” the real images, but also the other kind of existence. Virtual building expands the controlling mode in the physical world. It is a new way of travel, communication, control, and express. With the development of popular consuming culture and visual culture, and the exploring of LED expression and development of virtual technology by architects and artists, the LED buildings and virtual buildings will the indispensable existence with us.
