Abstract: The aim of this paper is to investigate the effect of bending on the actual stress distribution of a cantilevered single-lap adhesive joint under tension using the 3D FEA method. Five layers of elements were used across the adhesive thickness in order to obtain an accurate indication of the variation of stresses. All the numerical results obtained from the FEA show that the spatial distribution of all components of stress are similar for different interfaces though the stress values are obviously different. The results also show that the maximum value of the stress component S33 is higher than the maximum value of the stress component S11 which would have been expected to be the most dominant since the joint is subjected to tensile loading. The reason for this behaviour is the effect of bending at the bonded section of the joint.

Abstract: In order to meet the requirements of growing high-quality ZnGeP2, a crystal growth furnace with three-temperature-zone was designed and fabricated based on a conventional vertical two-zone tubular resistance furnace. Appropriate temperature gradients of 12~15°C/cm at the growth interface and stable thermal profile were obtained. A crack-free ZnGeP2 single crystal with size of Φ15mm×30mm was grown successfully in the furnace mentioned above. The as-grown crystal was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Infrared (IR) spectrophotometers. It is found that there is a cleavage face of (101) and X-ray multiple diffraction peaks of the {101} faces are observed, The infrared transmission of a ZnGeP2 wafer of 3 mm thickness is about 50% in the region of 3~10μm. These results show the designed crystal growth furnace is suitable for growth of ZnGeP2 crystal, and the as-grown ZnGeP2 crystal has good structural integrity and high quality.

Abstract: Internal material supply management for manufacturing workshops usually suffers from message delay and abnormal logistics events, which seriously holdback the reactivity capability of production system. As a rapid, real-time, accurate information collection tools, Radio Frequency identification (RFID) technology has become an important driver in the production and logistics activities. This paper presents a new idea that uses RFID technology to monitor real-timely the abnormal logistics events which occur at each work space in the internal material supply chain and proposes its construction method in details. With the experimental verification of prototype system, the proposed RFID-based monitoring system can find in time the abnormal logistics events of internal material supply chain and largely improve the circulation velocity of production logistics, and reduce the rate of mistake which frequently occurred in traditional material management based on Kanban.

Abstract: Externally bonding carbon fiber reinforced polymer sheets with an epoxy resin is an effective technique for strengthening and repairing reinforced concrete beams under flexural loads. In this study, a total of seven reinforced concrete beams was tested and analyzed: two control beam and fourteen beams reinforced with one to six layers of carbon fiber sheets bonded by an inorganic epoxy. All specimens were subjected to a four-point bending test under load control while load, deflection, mid-span strain and failure mode were recorded up to failure. It is found that the load carrying capacity increases with the number of layers of carbon fiber sheet. For one to four layers of carbon fiber polymer reinforcement, the beams failed by rupture of carbon fiber polymer, while beams with five to six layers of fiber reinforced polymer reinforcement failed by carbon fiber polymer delamination. The results of the experimental clearly indicate that significant strengthening of reinforced concrete beams can be realized by bonding small amount carbon fiber reinforced polymer to the beams. The ductility of the carbon fiber polymer strengthened beams is greatly reduced compared to the control beam.

Abstract: In order to improve productivity and product quality and reduce cost, over the past many years, producers made great efforts to find the new method of chamfering. One of the methods is the chamfer milling cutter, on the milling machine tool. This method is suited for medium and small batch production. The tool life is long, the machining quality is stable. In this thesis, the principle of meshing between gear and the rake is applied. The chamfer miller design principle and calculation method is put forward.

Abstract: Through building a data warehouse which is used to support manufacturing inventory analysis, according to the analysis theme, this paper extracted, purified and integrated the historical data which is accumulated by the enterprise in a long term and distributed in the various heterogeneous systems, and store them in the data warehouse fact table; through the establishment of the data cube, it generate the aggregated data with different particle size, as well as provide on-line analytical processing technology (OLAP), to provide users data query analysis with multi-angle, multi-granularity, visualization, which can solve many problems difficult to solve in the inventory analysis in traditional enterprise information processing systems.

Abstract: Slurry trench cutoff walls, constructed using self-hardening cement-bentonite (SCB) are the most common form of in-ground vertical contaminant barrier in the world, and are increasingly being used in China. As a kind of vertical anti-seepage wall material, SCB slurry is requently used for the containment of contaminated groundwater and other envirofunental Protection Projeets abroad. Domestie applieation of cement-bentonite slurry walls is not extensive. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of water-cement ratio and cement content on the hydraulic behavior of SCB and soil–bentonite (SB) mixtures permeated with water. The experimental program included unconfined compression tests, expansion ratio tests and hydraulic conductivity tests. The test results indicated changes in hydraulic conductivity take place due to the variation of the water-cement ratio and permeant fluid. Cement is a main material in effecting the CSB strength of unconfined compression. Cement greatly influenced the CSB permeability coefficient. Addition of Portland cement to the SB mixtures increased their hydraulic conductivity when permeated with water. The hydraulic conductivity of the SCB specimens permeated with water was inversely related to the cement content.

Abstract: Ergodicity is the outstanding character of chaos system, and chaotic variables can be used to approach global optimal point. Aiming at the control requirements for position and speed of mobile robot, a compact PID controller parameters optimization strategy based on mutative scale chaos optimization algorithm is proposed. The Kinematics model of the soccer robot system is introduced, and the strategy of chaos optimization PID controller parameters is discussed. This optimal solution needs no prior knowledge, searches the whole parameter’s space efficiently and finds the optimal parameter, according to the given performance criteria. Simulation results show that this strategy is feasible and effective.
